He has the most beautiful violin tone I have ever heard. Bravo! I especially appreciate how he still performs with his sister, despite all his success and fame. They make a wonderful duo.

Very fine playing, from both brother and sister. Sergey remains undervalued - he reminds me of Kremer and his commitment to musical truth. An excellent understanding of Brahms, rendered searchingly and without fanfare or exaggerated tone, including in the simple lullaby in the end. Wonderful.
Sehr wahr. Ich kannte Irina und die ganze Familie Anfang der 90er Jahre. War keine leichte Zeit. Die Eltern haben alles für die Kinder getan, schon damals beide erkennbare Ausnahmetalente.
A memorable performance, generous in expressiveness in a work that will bear it. Fine rapport between the players, an unbuttoned and almost abandoned climax to the first movement that gave added depth to the quiet calm that follows it. And in the finale lovely limpid semi-quavers from the piano, falling like raindrops.
a passionate Brahms, a crazy one, a romanticist one, a enchanted one, an inspired one, a dreamy one, perhaps it is because they are brother and sister, like Menuhins, and because they are Armenians, unexploited by so called civilization, both are in the soul of Brahms, tender, sincere, passionate, yearning, werther-like, goethe-like, you can see this clearly without doubt in their encore tune-Brahms‘ lullaby. But still Martzy is the best Brahms, there is a lack of classicism in their playing, it is too nervous, especially the violinist, Brahms is a mature person always, from no.1 to the last, well- read , self-taught, this has been a strong tradition amongst the European musicians, they have Bildung, not just Gypsies, there is a lack of cultural layers in their playing, but still they are young, the sister is more balanced, they are promising, they deserve to be expected, to surpass Martzy and Szigeti, to Surpass Gilels and Ney and Greenberg and Yudina, it is almost impossible, just like Schumann expects Brahms to be the Messiah of the Future musical world, but still it isl a noble goal to strive for as Brahms did.

Sis is a star in her own right! They are both marvelous.

Wonderful playing...but violin sound a bit too thin for this Brahms piece...
+lotusbuds2000 You are kidding! It couldn't be much fatter.
Maybe your sound system needs some attention? Nothing thin about his sound.
