My 2008 e82 (135i) has just had the same Airbag and seatbelt light show up on the dash. My big fat brother in law sat in the seat and maybe has broken the bloody sensor.

Is this mat also for heated seats??

After the new mat install you just reinstalled the seat in the car and the error is gone? Or you needed some sort of error reset or coding?

Still cant figure out how to remove that side plastic trim. It's still holding somewhere around where seatbelt is atached. Yours was loose there already.

Like... airbags are around since ~60's. So, the authors says that before there was any occupancy sensors invented, EVERYONE was in a true danger because apparently it is "unsafe" to drive without this sensor! Now is see why we have demographics issues. That's because all these people since 60's was driving without this sensor. I hope that now, since we have this sensor invented, our demographics will improve. :)

Did you notice the part where with the 'sensor' not working the airbag is off! So you can have a passenger in your car with an air bag in front of them that doesn't deploy in an accident. So sorry but your point??? My point is don't be so cheep as to not properly maintain your safety equipment. And don't unknowingly turn it off for your passengers.
