Turso First Impressions - Worth The Hype?

Turso - an option of bringing SQLite databases to production via the edge. When it comes to scaling databases on the cloud or the edge, Postgres has been one of the most popular options out there. Turso is trying to change that. In this video I wanted to create a database on Turso, connect it with my Bun REST API, and interact with it using Drizzle ORM. All turned out to be a lot smoother than I had anticipated. You will definitely be seeing more of Turso on this channel!

I've been messing around with Turso as well for a side project and I love the speed! I for sure don't need this app globally scaled but I think I want to give this a go just for the round trip of learning the in's and out's of a globally distributed app like this. I'm assuming that putting CloudFlare in front of all this is almost a must but also may introduce some extra caching layers to debug for certain write scenarios?

Best part of this was discovering this scalar api docs integration! Impressive but I cannot for the life of me get it to work on a fresh nuxt3 install. Nothing in YT on this either might be a good next video (just sayin...)

Its just the default theme that comes with the @elysiajs/swagger package when using elysia.

Yup! Turso can be set up with workers, just need to make a few tweaks. Here's a tutorial from cloudflare on how to do it: developers.cloudflare.com/workers/tutorials/connect-to-turso-using-workers/
