    This is a gift of God: to experience the sacred amidst the commonplace - to taste heaven in our daily bread, a new heaven and a new earth in a mouthful of water, joy in the ache of our muscle or the sweat of our brows.

    I've never really cared for the other version of this song, I don't know how to describe it except for sounding more- tense. This version feels as peaceful as the hymn is supposed to be.

    . “ Enduring Faith “
    From thy riven side which flowed, the love of a father,
    who chose not to abandon his wayward flock,
    but rather sacrifice his own to save.
    Did he not leave the ninety nine to go in search of the lost one?
    And great was the rejoicing when the soul thought forever lost stepped through the gates after all!
    “ because He lives”

    I'm agnostic...but I swear...if there was ever anything that could make me convert to Christianity, it'd be liturgical music. I don't know what the presence of Christ, or god, or whatever, would feel like, but these musical pieces fill me with what I can only describe as awe. It's like seeing the grand canyon but with my ears.

    The Titanic was deemed unsinkable! At the last second before Titanic's Maiden Voyage, a woman decided not to board Her. when asked why? she replied that they were flying her in the face of God. so in those early hours in 1912, it didn't matter if you were rich, or poor. 1,500 people lost their lives. don't wait till it's too late. Seek the true God in life while you can. that's what's important.

    My mother passed away on August 14th, 2017 and was laid to rest on August 19th, 2017. When my dad and I were sitting down with the pastor, this is the only hymn I could think of. It's a beautiful song, unfortunately not being trained vocalists, we didn't really do the song justice. Of course when I hear this song it now makes me cry......miss you mom.

    I wish everyone can hear this with open hearts, whether you believe in God or not. It is beatiful, soothing and uplifting. Why do some of you have to add hate. We have freedom of religion. What is wrong with live and let live. Truly...why do you have to be so negative. I don't search you out to hurt you. There is beauty everywhere, why can't you see it and be content. I am so frustrated.

      Dear Nicholas, There is indeed a heaven. But, my friend, hoping alone will not get you there. There is but one way, and one way only to heaven. His Name is Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus tells us in John's Gospel, Chapter 14, verse 6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6).And... "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).So, how do we get to heaven through Jesus Christ?Jesus Himself tells us: 1. Repent of our sins against God: "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3).2. Call upon His Name; Ask Him to save you, forgive you of your sins: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13).3. Live for, serve, and worship Jesus Christ only 'til the end of your days: "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." (Matthew 24:13).If you have more questions about heaven and how to get there, please email me at leather1@gmail.comIn Christ,/s/Scott L. Adkins

    What good comments listed. There are few words to convey the peace, talent and spirituality this group of musicians can bring to us. I am an LDS convert. I don't think of the Titanic but a little country church sitting among the beautiful hills of Ohio. I can still see the trees out the windows and feel the ages pass. What a composer. What a conductor. And what heavenly voices. God is good.

    Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
    E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
    Still all my song shall be,
    Nearer, my God, to Thee.
    Nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer to Thee!
    Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
    Darkness be over me, my rest a stone.
    Yet in my dreams I'd be
    Nearer, my God to Thee.
    Nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer to Thee!
    There let the way appear, steps unto heav'n;
    All that Thou sendest me, in mercy given;
    Angels to beckon me
    Nearer, my God, to Thee.
    Nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer to Thee!
    Then, with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise,
    Out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
    So by my woes to be
    Nearer, my God, to Thee.
    Nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer to Thee!
    Instrumental
    Or, if on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
    Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I'll fly,
    Still all my song shall be,
    Nearer, my God, to Thee.
    Nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer to Thee!
    There in my Father's home, safe and at rest,
    There in my Savior's love, perfectly blest;
    Age after age to be,
    Nearer my God to Thee.
    Nearer, my God, to Thee,
    Nearer to Thee!

    In this time of world wide trials and tribulations, THIS is what keeps my spirits high, gives me hope, joy, and a profound sense of calm knowing that the Saviour is watching over us all. Keeping ourselves centred on what matters most...our Lord! Helps us be at peace when this world is in turmoil. We steer our own boats but as long as we keep the Lord in our lives to navigate when the storms of life rock our vessels, we will be alright no matter what happens.

    Several years ago I had the honor to attend a rehearsal at the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. A moving experience reminding me of the joys of loving Christ. As one who plays a French Horn, the Horn parts in this piece are simply fantastic! God bless!

    Nearer to thee!
    E’en though it be a cross
    That raiseth me.
    Still all my song shall be

    Nearer, my God, to thee,

      Rusila Divere As well it should, Rusila. This was the last music the passengers heard from Mr. Hartley's orchestra as the ship went down. He assembled his musicians on deck, played a few cheerful rags whilst the ship was still fairly stable. As she took her angled plunge to the depths, Hartley played his as his final song. Interestingly, Hartley's violin was recovered from the ocean.

    I love listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and often the music is so beautiful and my heart is so full, I cry. I sing in our ward choir and wish I was as good as the Tabernacle singers. I never grow tired of listening to them and would love to go to Salt Lake to see them in reality

    Jesus paid the sin debt for all mankind, by dying on the cross and shedding his precious blood. the spotless lamb of God.For God so loved the world that he gave his Only begotten son, that we may have eternal life. I believe that one's faith and connection with a "higher power" (for many that HP is "God" or the equivalent title in the person's native language and faith) is entirely personal and subject only to the review of the person and his or her version of God or whomever she or he envisions. Any religion is only a method of assisting that connection. And, for some people they may not feel, need, or practice that connection ... so be it. But, the music, the art, the method of connection are real to the participants. This hymn and the performance and dedication of the performers exemplify their attempt to connect with their audience ...their fellow faithful colleagues.
    The first time I visited St. Paul's in London, I had reinforced and was swept away by the realization that men and women can recognize, appreciate, and practice something greater than oneself. The specific religion is unimportant to me. All religions practice and advocate, essentially, the same values and objectives. Some are more tolerant of other faiths and some are not. For me, tolerance is virtually important. For each woman and man seeks to embrace and adopt the cooperation and the "get along" with their fellows regardless of the specific faith they practice.
    Let us enjoy and feel more fulfilled as human beings as we enjoy the performance by The Tabernacle Choir.

Things like this it's not so much appreciated by the most of the people from here, this is not the kind of song they like to hear. Sometimes they come to Brazil, but only to São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro and I live in Recife almost nothing about culture comes to show here. For example, speak , write or read in english it's no a common thing around here. But, thanks for the notice! And Sorry about my english.

    What is it about human beings? They can do things like this and move our very souls and yet they can still threaten to murder one another, generating their own version of hatred across the world. This is the good...no great ...part of human beings, when their voices can move our very souls. As they did for me here. Lovely.
