I'm agnostic...but I swear...if there was ever anything that could make me convert to Christianity, it'd be liturgical music. I don't know what the presence of Christ, or god, or whatever, would feel like, but these musical pieces fill me with what I can only describe as awe. It's like seeing the grand canyon but with my ears.

My Dad died this morning in Cebu, Philippines! He lived a great life, served the Lord to the best of his abilities especially as a Patriarch and a Sealer! I am so sad that I can't go to pay my last respects, yet the knowledge of the gospel truly helps my soul to calm down!
My mother passed away on August 14th, 2017 and was laid to rest on August 19th, 2017. When my dad and I were sitting down with the pastor, this is the only hymn I could think of. It's a beautiful song, unfortunately not being trained vocalists, we didn't really do the song justice. Of course when I hear this song it now makes me cry......miss you mom.

Every time I hear this hymn, I can't help remembering wheeling her casket into the chapel as the organist played this beautiful hymn (I was a pall bearer). That was more than 30 years ago.

Back in 2010 we present this song for our departed Class mate from Bike accident. It was such an emotional moment knowing that he no longer is with us. May he finds Eternal Peace with Lord Jesus Christ.

I don't think of the Titanic but a little country church sitting among the beautiful hills of Ohio. I can still see the trees out the windows and feel the ages pass. What a composer. This brings me to a time when my maternal grandmother would sing this to me. As a little boy, frightened of storms at night, her voice and the words of this song would return peace to me. It also spoke of her faith in the Almighty and her dearest hope of the Resurrection. Even to this day when the storms of this existence assault me, I hear her singing this and I know the Presence of God once more. What can separate us from the love of God? Only ourselves.

This is a gift of God: to experience the sacred amidst the commonplace - to taste heaven in our daily bread, a new heaven and a new earth in a mouthful of water, joy in the ache of our muscle or the sweat of our brows.
I love listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and often the music is so beautiful and my heart is so full, I cry. I sing in our ward choir and wish I was as good as the Tabernacle singers. I never grow tired of listening to them and would love to go to Salt Lake to see them in reality

I was first acquainted with the choir when I was a child 70 years ago. I have always loved them, and their voices (to me) are the voices of angels.

I love listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and often the music is so beautiful and my heart is so full, I cry. I sing in our ward choir and wish I was as good as the Tabernacle singers. I never grow tired of listening to them and would love to go to Salt Lake to see them in reality
I am no Mormon and I am not too keen on the USA but I too would gladly go to Salt Lake to see and hear this wonderful music for real.
this is a wonderful performance. such beautiful singing. I am not a mormon, and never will be , but this does not stop me from enjoying this wonderful choir. Let Religion step aside occasionally for music like this.

The YM and YW had to sing this one day in our Ward. We never could get close to these guys.
