My dog and I head out onto a remote lake in the Chippewa National Forest of northern Minnesota to explore the islands that make up this unique body of water. Along the way, we do some fishing, go for a hike and cook dinner out on the open water.

So, industry, planes, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, trains, buses, lawnmowers, chainsaws,... are all ok, but it's cars that are the problem...🤦♂ I agree nature is nicest when it's quiet, but why this focus on cars, seems people are getting nicely programmed these days.

There is an owl which makes those high pitched noises. The pitch will change with weather humidity. These owls were first discovered by scientists in 1968 while I was in the military. Amazing to listen to. Thank you for the video!

Ellie always looks so proud coming out of the lake. I can just picture your walk around the island. Get to one side, "Hey Dad, I found water!" >Splash!< Get to another spot, "Hey Dad, I found more water!!" >Splash!< Love your new electric coffee making process. Probably a bit safer than the old propane burner, and most old sailors can tell you what a danger a boat/ship fire can be. Love the videos as always.❤

Fish earlier on the morning and near sunset. The insects are on the water, and the fish look for them. That's their food.
YOU ARE CORRECT CYNTHIA… WE ALWAYS WENT OUT VERY EARLY WHEN HUNTING FISH. THE HARD PART (FOR ME) ABOUT TRAVEL AND SHORT TRIP CAMPING, IS THE TRAVEL AND SET UP ON THE FIRST DAY. FIRST DAYS ARE SUPER CHALLENGING FOR ME AT LEAST….JUST MY EXPERIENCE.

I have a fear of deep water. So an overnight boat stay is a no for me. However, this looks so peaceful and serene. There’s nothing more stress relieving than being submerged in nature.

My boat is not that different from yours i always anchor using 2 front and back stops all that going round in circles all day when fishing i use anchor front rock at the back works 10/10
now for the top of the cover on the boat 2-250 watt units(12.5 amps of power )or the max 2-300 watt units(25amps per each unit, ) for the full recharging system. to be on the safe side of the recharing system i would go with the 250 system but for the cost believe it or not the 300 watt units are on sale now till the end of the summer, ! check with a friend of mine in the industry, it because over stocking of 300 watts over the 250. about 200.00 each panel for the 300 watt, and about 250 for the 250 watt units,

I recall in one of Jack's Tiny Cabin Life videos, maybe from a couple months ago, where Jack mentions getting a recommendation from Kenny (of all Trades) for a particular spot to camp, and then recommended checking out Kenny's channel. I've been also following him every week now, along with Jack's. Love them both. And they both have the best canine companions that accompany them on their northern Minnesota adventures.

To get in or out of the water. So what was all in Rylie's Dinner 🍽 stir-fry? The high-pitched sounds you heard were the Lake Merpeople 🧜♂️🧜♀️, conversing with each other. That high pitched noise was the wind blowing across your fishing line!
Boat Anchor
Install a "jam cleat" just aft of the anchor pulley.
Doing this let's you weigh anchor quickly, not worrying about the line. When the anchor is completely up, yank the line through the cleat. It will hold it while you tidy the pile of line. I had my anchor line secured to a spool with a crank. A spooler & a jam cleat makes one-man raising and lowering the anchor a cake walk.
