Explination of the Oregon Car thing. She's pretending to be someone she's not. She wants to be seen as a normal care free working class student (Like Vod). Owning a car goes against that.
This is probably one of the slowest episodes of the series keep with it boomer

Brian. The clue was she was strong to carry loads of stuff…then denies owning car because it’s not rock and roll but she’s a princess with money trying to be grunge
The car thing she trying to hide the fact she comes from money and is clearly just as posh as JP, definitely common, as you've probably realised class structure is real over here. Cant really act like you've lived whilst running around in the car daddy bought you and a limitless credit card while your new friends dont have 2p to rub together. The girl that plays her was in Ghosts which might be where you know her from.

Please continue to do this series, it only gets funnier and funnier. I love the reactions but you should definitely do Gavin and Stacey as well. Top class programme.
It's the attic converted into a bedroom, my neighbours have done this to their properties. It amazes me US have more bathrooms than bedrooms.
James Cordon is a terrible person. He's well known for treating 'subordinates' and waiting staff like shit.
He's also awful as an actor, comedian & presenter.
Give it a little time, they are setting a lot of things up. This was introducing lots of side characters basically

The actress who plays Oregon is in soooo much stuff! She’s in BBC Ghosts, Wonka, the latest season of You and a show I LOVE called Feel Good

Jack Whitehouse daddy used to date Margaret Thatchers daughter Carol, he had trouble getting a taxi home from 10 Downing Street. His daddy is genuinely so witty imo.

Another idea for a series to watch is "Lads Army" and "Bad Lads Army", its about modern day young men volunteering for 1950s British army training, its very funny with some touching moments
This is more of a storyline programme with comedy than a comedy programme like peep show and inbetweeners so enjoy the ride KB

Ideal is better than nearly everything British that gets reacted to. But it seems a little too different, and has more of a smaller cult following, for reactors to take on.

I think Fresh Meat was marketed as a comedy-drama rather than an outright comedy. I found the whole thing very dark and depressing, but it's also brilliant.
The rooms are bigger than most rooms in Britain, ive lived in 7 different rooms all smaller than the rooms they have
Thr craziest student house would be 80s show young ones, that was sureal as fuck and loads of fighting
this the kind of show that shows you the molotov cocktail and then throws it in a later episode

This show is a slow burn comedy, but it really does grow on you.

This one is new to me too King, and I was gonna give it a miss, but on reading the many comments below about this ep being weaker and to stick with it, I'll join you on this in the future.

This show is brilliant and I promise that if you watch it till the end you will be sad it's over. It has wonderfully observed characters and by the end you will want the best for them all.
I agree that this episode isn't all that likable but stick with it, it's a worthwhile show!
Manchester University is very good, basically. But it's northern where things are cheap and a lot of the students parents have cash. The student properties are massive, or they were when my friend went there in 2010.
Basically, they are all old Victorian middle class houses. Victoriana built big and better💪

I think you should watch White Gold if you can. Joe Thomas and James Buckley are in it, the main character is played by somebody whose name I forget, but they're like his two sidekicks. It's a comedy about salesmen in the 80s. Think Mad Men x Inbetweeners.
There’s a great series called white gold and Joe Thomas plays the same character again 😂 FYI James Buckley is in that top. Really funny, well worth a watch, you’ll love it.

I guess that what is being depicted i this episode is the reality v the expectation university life- the characters will grow on you and the situations will get more complex and messy.

I didn't get into this, when it was on TV, but thought i'd give it another go with you. It might be as i didn't go to Uni, but i can't really relate to it.
In the UK the typical BMW driver is either JP or a Drug dealer so I don't think anyone will take offense.

I really didn't like him until I watched this. It was just me judging a book by its cover admittedly
King Boomer has a friend who hates him so I think he's just feeding off that, I've not heard of any negative stuff about him other than he is posh. That's not exactly something he can control.
Watch 'Bad Education'. Jack Whitehall is a teacher in it and his character is likeable, in a weird way. It's a great wacky show like Man Down. I know you will 100% like it.

To be totally honest, think youre expecting the show to be too much like inbetweeners etc. Someone else put it really well when they saud this is a slow burn comedy.
Really it is about trying to show uk student life and some of the ridiculousness surrounding it.
the way the characters develop is fantastic
Ultimately the show is dark, dingy and depressing with humour thrown in.

If you want a truly wild show about UK uni like then Skins is yiur friend. Not sure you will get that on youtube though due to tonnes of nudidty, sex, drugs and alcohol but even if cant watch for youtube woukd be interesting cor you the watch

When you head off to uni it's normally your first time away from home so it's often where people try to reinvent themselves to appear cooler than they are. That's why Oregon has just said a stream of bullshit for 2 episodes to hide the fact she is from a rich family and has never actually done all the things she is claiming, she is trying to fit in. It's also why Josie has lied about having a boyfriend, she didn't have the guts to tell him they had split up she just hoped being away from home was enough of a clue.
Pleeeease bare with it! It's not a show about ridiculous stuff, it's much more grounded than that. It's about the friendships and relationships. Why would Joe Thomas drop a molotov? He likes the girl and if he does that, he ruins any future chance of dating her if she becomes single, and imagine how awkward it would be living together after that! It's is an amazing show and has some of the most funny, emotional stuff!
Some of the episodes are a slow burner but overall the series is brilliant, just gotta stick with it!

This is also my first time watching this series Boomer and felt like it dragged and not that funny. Hope the next episode is better
The thing you desperately wanted to happen here would have made no sense. Joe Thomas had no logical reason to throw a grenade on that scene. It was already primed to explode. His options were a) swoop in and protect her (which he did) possibly earning appreciation, b) do nothing and watch it all go down while remaining blameless, or c) go over and do what you wanted - exact same outcome as b but now he's the jerk and she'll hate him for it. Why would anybody choose c? That's an objectively dumb choice.
Gavin and Stacy is good James Cordon is a bellend but we a lot of us grew up with that program it’s funny

James Cordon may have been a bit of a dick, but the hate is ridiculous. Gavin and Stacy is brilliant, and I think you absolutely have to react to it. G&S is one of the most successful British comedies of all time and rightfully so. It was co written by Cordon and Ruth Jones. Her character Nessa is iconic. It also has Rob Brydon (host of would I lie to you) and his character Bryn is also iconic. You must react to it.

He wouldn’t be into it though. By the looks of it, he’s more into the absurd/surreal comedy. That’s why father ted/black books and the IT Crowd fit perfectly.

I don't know why some people latch onto hating J Corden, J Whitehall, J Carr et al. It's like a little ignorant cult, trying to be influential and important. Ignore, is my advice.
The Corden stuff with Gavin and Stacey is total bs btw dont listen to them. Corden might be w.e ppl say but it wasnt just him who wrote the show and it wasnt him who carried it, ruth jones is brilliant and some of the characters i n it are worth watching it for alone such as Doris. Avoiding it just cause Corden stars in it and co-wrote would be silly and a shame.

James corden is a prick, however you should Deffo watch gavin n Stacey, it's really good and you'll love it.

James Cordon is absolutely not a reason to not watch Gavin and Stacey. He is a terrible, unfunny guy but the show is fantastic.
Gavin and Stacy is objectively hilarious. James Cordon wasn't a horrific twat at the time.
James Corden is a horrible human being the way he treats those he thinks are below him. If you are looking for something funny I would give gavin and stacey a miss. Its not particularly funny, especially for anyone that isn't british .
So many people like Oregon at Uni, they act as if they are poor and struggle as a student when infact their parents pay for everything throughout Uni with them never having to get a job to support themselves.
In fairness, Gavin and Stacy is very funny and is full of epic characters.
