This was such a touching video ❤️🎄❤️ I’m 64 and miss the days when I had a full time job but I’m trying to repurpose myself, as I’m very lucky to be retired at all. Many blessings to you and your family 🎄 Can’t wait to see your tree decorated
Hari OM I totally get that dichotomomy of deserving and enjoying one's "pastoral years" versus the need to be feeling useful. I had purpose this week... sharing bed-watch with a dear friend's brother as she slipped away to Pancreatic Cancer at a mere 66 yrs. To have been able to help him with watch and to provide him with lunches truly helped to ease the deep pain of losing a marvellous friend. I really like your DiL's tribute tree and spreading the love and understanding of what it is to miss someone during these festive times. Your own tree is lovely. And that scarf is shaping up nicely! YAM xx
Oh I am so sorry for your friend, What a beautiful "purpose" you found. I was and am amazed at the kindness of those around us. It is comforting to have good friends and loving family at times like those,
Your cowl is so pretty. I made a scrappy alpaca one when I first learned to knit, its to itchy I can't wear it. 🙄 I live on a farm and we have a lot of woods. I often see hawks and eagles flying off with their prey. I always feel bad for the bunnies that get caught, but when they have snakes I am not sad at all! The tree is a beautiful tribute to your son.
Thank you, Linda. I love the softness of Alpaca but I also find it itchy. I rarely spot birds of prey. I think what startled me the most was almost stepping on it when I got out of the car. That and realizing how strong his claws were to be able to hang onto an animal of that size.
Hi, It's good to see you again. I'm glad you got to participate in the memory tree. I hope you have joy in decorating your own tree as well. What an interesting day! 😇 Blessings 🙏🏼
Hi Lynda, Great to see that lovely snow! We have bad winds and endless rain here, I'd prefer snow for Christmas! I know just how you feel about the beach! I have it just a ten minute walk from my house, beautiful sandy bays and I live knowing they are just there when I need them!! You certainly looked very happy on the beach!!! and so pleased you got to visit your Aunt too! Catch you tomorrow, Jan xx
What a special day for you Lynda, without being controversial i think most women who work and take care of a household and family always wish for more time to do the things they want,be it reading knitting etc…then when the day arrives and you’ve cleaned out all the cupboards that you didn’t get around too, cleaned the windows sorted out stuff, you sit down and feel exactly as you described, you talked about the brain switching on and off so clearly in words i feel but could not explain as well as you.A beautiful tree memorial to Joe and such a important day for Dolmani to have you there…side note is he still knitting? i hope now you live closer he can keep going with it.i have never seen a black tree it looked stunning.I think your day was an exhausting one for you but also fulfilling in many ways.I think of you,Ross and Joe so often as Joes Birthday is the same as my Sons.Warmest wishes to you, your knitting is still as creative and beautiful as ever, love that Griddle stitch and your Christmas scarf 🇦🇺😘xxxK
Hello Kay! So nice to hear from you. I would love to hear how you are doing. Please drop me a line. My email is lggoldstein@comcast.net. Thank you so much for watching and your kind words.
I’m thinking of you Lynda, Anne, and Domani. I love that Anne had a Mets sweatshirt on. I know that was one of his favorite teams. Sigh. I feel you. I have a hard time some days after having these health issues feeling like what’s my purpose. But I think you should enjoy your time. You can visit family and write again if you wish. ❤
Thank you. I’m so touched by your thoughtful comment. I’m sorry that you struggle with health issues. The human spirit is pretty powerful though. It pushes, prods, and moves us along, you know? I feel my writing inspo has been greatly diminished. Maybe just too painful to think about the rough times of the past couple of years.
When I saw you dragging all that furniture around, as well as the tree box, I thought to myself ‘no wonder her back hurts!’. That was quite a job. Your tree does look lovely. The hawk experience was wild, to say the least! The tree decorating memorial for Joe was so nice. I’m glad you got to participate. How old is your grandson now?

Thank you :). I understand what you mean about repurposing. I guess that's what I'm thinking about doing.
Thinking of you today with 2 losses weighing on your mind. Sending hugs.
What a beautiful tradition with the tree decorating. Glad you could participate ❤
It was a wonderful way to remember him.
