I’ve been dealing with depression for a while now, just recently came off my meds bc I felt they weren’t helping me anymore. My boyfriend lives in charlotte and every time I go to visit I end up dreading coming back to Nashville. I hate it here 🙄. I also currently live with my mother, I just turned 27 and I’m ready to go! I’m currently in school and just accepted a new job to start making money again but I plan on leaving the beginning of next year. I’ve grown so tired of living in Nashville that I literally feel sick every day I’m here. I need a breath of fresh air and a new environment to start actually living my life.
A gym membership is awesome for mental + physical health and meeting people.
Same things I've been feeling
"stuck" and just wanting to move to elevate find new experiences, new friends and networking. I'm planning to relocate there next June also
You have no idea how much this video has helped me. My son and I are moving to Charlotte this summer and some of the things you talked about especially about applying for jobs gave me more clarity!
Hopefully, Charlotte doesn't turn into another "Atlanta."
I feel like it will in a couple years. Houston Texas not to far behind and the last will be Phoenix
@@ladydede88 You are spot on I live in suburban Houston, just came from PHX, and was in ATL before that. Lol I lived in Houston before and I keep coming bk for the warm weather, foodie vibes, and affordable cost of living. The ratchets are taking Houston & PHX over though, and ATL been done idk why I even tried it lol. Charlotte, Raleigh and the DMV(MD) are my last options here. If one of them doesn’t feel like home, I’m moving to the islands or southern europe lol
It will eventually but in about 10 yrs or so.

I’m from Mobile & now live in Birmingham and I had the same exact experience as you in Bham. I feel alone and down at times. I know God is calling me to relocate but I don’t know where. I’ll be done with my bachelors in a few months. I’m considering Charlotte as well.
Congrats on your new journey in a new city. My boyfriend and I really really want to move to Charlotte, but it’s not the right time for us right now. Our goal is to move next summer. I lived in NYC my entire life up until I was 24 and moved to Pittsburgh, and it’s one of my biggest regrets. I’m super unmotivated here and my mental health has also taken a toll. I have no friends here. My man is my best friend, but I know having solid friendships is important. Can wait to move!!!!

I wanna move here, I have 3 daughters do you recommend getting a job b4 looking for a home. Im in the medical field is it lots of opportunities for that
I wouldn’t move before finding a job but you can look at homes to have some places in mind. I think you should be able to find something in the medical field.
How is the parking situation in downtown Charlotte is it mainly garage parking?
Street parking, parking garages, paid lots. Just about all is paid parking.

Being someone that’s from Birmingham as well, how hard was it to find a job in your field in Charlotte. I recently graduated with my masters and have been having a hard time finding a job in Charlotte so that I can relocate.
What field do you work in? How long have you been searching for a job? Once I got my place and had a Charlotte address I landed interviews faster. I would frequently check the sites of companies you want to work for..like everyday. I’ve noticed a lot of companies interview the first few people that apply and qualify. Hope that helps.
