I know what you mean, but even the YOUNG Beethoven shocked the adventurous, experimental, ingenious Haydn so I think we need to feel something of that quality. But better this over refined approach than the "super romantic" posturings that distort the music. None of the recordings I mention falls into this trap.
Beethoven jocular, not to say deranged. A couple of his most notable episodes portraying derangement are in here, if I have it right. Of course if it's in minor you have something quite different, for which Beethoven is famous: he may be crazy but he's not schtupit. The rondo starts out a pleasant patter song like rage over the lost penny then in the last two pages builds to closing a serious as any, not that it loses the goodnaturedness of the piece. I can't describe it.
j'apprecis mr.goode et je pense qu'il excelle en jouant beethoven, mais pour moi daniel barenboim est le meilleur à joueur pour ludwig van beethoven .. j'adore ces deux grands musiciens !

Sorry - to my ears not only very nice but TOO nice. I miss the animal Beethoven present in Richter, Arrau, Kovacevich, Schnabel et al.
This was one of Beethoven's earlier sonatas, I don't think it'd make sense to go super romantic crazy in this sonata.

Essayez d'écouter Claudio Arrau, pour moi c'est le plus grand interprète des sonates de Beethoven
