Destiny 2: Let's Fix Outdated Exotic Weapons

- There are about 70 Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2, about 30 of them are really out of date for one reason or another. I pray that Bungie sees some of these ideas and uses them from feedback in the next new season.

There’s quite a handful we didn’t cover just because they either need a total rework or are clearly meant for pvp. Despite that, I think they could have a dual design (a perk for pvp and a perk for pve). Got any ideas for them?
For Darci you could add a perk that would give you precision damage all over a target if you keep scoped in
Lemme guess, Queenbreaker?
Tbh I would love to see Darci remain in the heavy slot moving it just reduces options in the game but for a rework for it give it a sniper version of full court the further away the more dmg make it 100m =300% bonus vary few if any other weapons can hit at that range and you'd rarely max it out but that with it's lock on target thing being a better version of boxed breathing means you are dealing a huge amount of dmg very quickly and div might not be able to help you but i'd fix the ads hud as well since it's power lvl gauge hasn't worked since forsaken
Not sure about Darci, but I think that 1 shotting shields with the right element would be cool for Borealis
DARCII is confirmed becoming a special weapon in season 19-20
Let DARCI’s Personal Assistant scan a champion for 4 seconds, then load the round necessary to stun it, no matter the champion type. That would make it worth the heavy slot.
So far, this is the best DARCI buff I've seen.
I don’t quite agree there, if it had that and ignoring regular shields I’d think it’s balanced (or simply damage to shield and and a little damage to hp )
Sounds nifty
Honestly sounds interesting. The timer is long enough to avoid making darci the obvious choice but still an interesting addition
Or just give it a permanent unstoppable mod like other exotics
For worldline zero, what if after you get a kill with the heavy blink attack your next light attack also blinked you forward (or a nearby enemy), and so long as you kept getting kills you could keep blinking with the light attack.
this would be dope. it would have saved this guy ua-cam.com/video/MrS6GrdXx6s/v-deo.html xD
I like that idea a lot, chain blinks as long as you're getting kills sounds amazing. Good even go the step further and give it jolt on heavy blows, where as the first jolt would give you say a 3 second window to light attack, then any chain lights will let you blink indefinitely. As long as you're killing things you're good, but give the heavy attack a cooldown of 10 seconds.
Worldline zero is definitely overdue for a buff
that would be incredible
So genji pretty much
Riskrunner being able to activate "Arc Conductor" when you become Amplified would have been the perfect addition to the Arc 3.0 line-up.
Dear god no Riskrunner is already good enough in PvP with everyone running Arc 🥲
@@ROMAN-wh9ed Yea but arc conductor activating while amplified just makes it more consistent
@@senormacaco2834 I fear Riskrunner
@@ROMAN-wh9ed Tremble before funni blue smg

I always thought it would be cool if the two-tailed fox got a catalyst called 'A Third Tail' where it would also shoot an arc rocket. This would mean it could be used waaaayyy more in match game activities and give it a nice, niche use since it could cover all 3 elements in one go.
thats actually so cool, arc rocket jolts too. maybe genesis for the catalyst?
I’ve been thinking this for a while lol and I noticed that the solar rocket still only burns instead of something from Solar 3.0. Maybe something like this for a catalyst:
Void Rocket still suppresses
Solar Rocket has Incandescent
Arc Rocket causes Jolt
Well my friend, your wish has been granted. And it's literally called "Third Tail." Do you work for Bungie?
It’s a felony that Merciless didn’t get a rework with Solar 3.0. Have each shot apply scorch and as you apply scorch you shoot faster with each non lethal hit
Honestly didn't need it. Impetus is often forgotten about on this weapon, which is a 50% damage buff. Proccing Impetus before laying on the trigger lets you rival the dps of Lament, Whisper, and Sleeper Simulant, while also outpacing Xenophage.
@@Arckua pvp my guy, pvp
@@Arckua except none of those weapons require a kill before you reload to do masssive damage. Theoretical damage never translates when you need to kill right before the boss phase
@@brusselseastside3546 You're regarding bosses that can be one phased right? Not everyone can, many have wave rounds before the damage phase, that's when Merciless is powerful.
@@coinisinorbit In Pvp? Impetus is amazing! Makes it a 3-bolt kill with insane range and stability for its archetype, its only the archetypal weakness that holds it back.
What I saw someone suggest for DARCI was that when you zoom into any champion be it unstop overload or barrier that it adapts to that champion type, that would also kinda tie into its lore where it's an AI in a weapon that's constantly adapting itself to the enemy.
That's fucking awesome
Genius
Ehhh, not going to happen.. you know how bungo does that thing where they try to avoid single item metas, yea that darci idea would fuck it up majorly, why bother optimizing your mods with your team or whole solo if you can just darci spam everything for crit damage
@@awesomeobinradin Make it so you have to take 4 seconds of continued scoping on that champion for it to activate so you can't just quickscope the champion easily. Make it take a little time for that effect to work so it has that trade off of Versatility vs Faster Stunning
@@cerberus6400 4 seconds is far too long
I have an idea for a Darci rework, make it so the "targeted" enemy gets a weird version of disruption break where the enemy takes more precision damage from all sources. This would give Divinity some competition, but they could also stack as long as you hit headshots instead of the bubble.
This idea actually sounds awesome lol
Really good idea!
perfect balance of reward and requirement. 10/10
I love the Idea of Darci beeing a Support weapon and the precision damage increase, but instead of just firing you have to fire from a distance that ends on the number 5, so either 5m, 15m, 25, etc. That way you actually have to use the info displayed in the scope.
I agree, the main Divinity debate is about pros being tired of having to use it and casual players having to rely on it, introducing more guns that debuff will help for both sides
A friend and I were talking about a few changes for some exotics and one that I brought up was for Salvations Grip
•Instead of always shooting a stasis crystal, it would instead fire the grenade that you have equipped with your stasis subclass, charging the grenade launcher would increase the effect of the grenade
•If you don’t have a stasis subclass equipped it’ll just launch a stasis crystal like normally
God I would love that
I think Hard light could really benefit from getting energy type specific perks depending on chosen energy type. Incandescent for solar, volt shot for arc and repulsor brace for void . Maybe better versions of all 3
or it applies the elements debuff on ricochet bullets. both end in the same way, but i think this would fit the weapons identity better
I think Sweet Business needs Subsistence. It is meant to be the "shoot forever" gun, let it do that more.
Subsistence or even better rampage
Agreed
Dynamic sway reduction aswell
catalyst should increase mag cap
@@charliekrauss5046 I raise you subsistence + Killing Tally
I was thinking for DARCI, what if it was the 'Gjallarhorn' for snipers where it essentially buffed the handling, reload speed, and precision damage for nearby allies using snipers upon the wielder scoring a crit when its personal assistant perk is active.
For darci I imagine getting a precision kill sends out a pulse that highlights all nearby targets even through walls for your team that lingers for say 3-5 sec could be interesting since the lore tab talks about how all guns talk to each other. And maybe also let it talk in our chat like getting multi kills it tells you great job or something
The wallhack seems a bit much, but I love the idea of having it talk in chat.
@@johnathanmonsen6567 Void hunters can already get brief wallhacks every time they kill a void debuffed target (which can be done with smoke bombs, certain grenades, and the Tractor Cannon). I don't see why the DARCI shouldn't be able to do the same thing, given that you need heavy ammo and a decent aim to do it.
For the hard light I think that fragmenting rounds would be amazing. Have the bullets split for each bounce and it even plays into the normal description of the gun. It would make it significantly more useful in close quarters which is what the description already hints at.
Bullets start white and split into 3 colors on bounce
An idea for Queenbreaker: make it a double burst linear (similar to the triple burst stormchaser) but also buff it’s damage as well to make it viable. Keep the blinding effect as well!
Even better: Make the scopes switchable, like the proposed Suros Regime and have the combat scope be double burst and the marksman scope single burst.
I dont like the double burst thing much since the wire rifles that Vandals use dont do that but 100% agree on the dmg buff
To be honest I think the only change Vigilance Wing needs is to have it's Last Stand perk work in Solo play.
Then it would be perfect in my opinion.
Agreed, it already does good work in the niche it's clearly made for, and iirc we already have similar buffs that trigger when you're solo. So why not just make it a monster for solo players as well.
Solid. I like that
Kinda like how they changed celarity right?
Love your profile pic and the manga it's from. 👍
Another whole gun getting used for ability regen would be nice but yea it would make the wing over kill only reason i don't use it is cause in solo it perk is useless
D.A.R.C.I - leave it as a power weapon. Its perk highlights the target for you and loads a special 'tagging' round which can highlight the precision spot for you and other players and allows a temporary increase to precision damage. The 'tag' round is also useful against Unstoppables. Can rival Divinity?
Sunshot - give it incandescent.
Worldline Zero - when you use the Tesseract blink ability it should be like you just ripped through space/reality and upon exiting you do massive AOE arc damage like lightning storm with a souped version of jolt or something.
Truth - a new perk, Spreading Truths, highlight and hit a target with a Truth rocket which in turn gives everyone with a legendary rocket launcher a tracking rocket. 3 second timer.
yeee!
i feel like divinity should be a power ammo weapon as well since we already have coldheart
Make it a bullseye round from the Resistance series. Doing something like holdin aim on a guy for 3 or 5 secs loads a tracking round. You hold reload and fire a dart that makes every further shot in your mag hit that exact location no matter where you are aiming. Not even a problem in pvp its a heavy weapon and a sniper at that
Hell, Sunshot should not only get incand it should also straight up scorch on hit.
@@cerberus6400 I'm thinking 1 scorch stack per hit, then when the target dies all scorch stacks are applied to any targets in the blast. Either that or they could give sunshot an interaction with one of the solar exotic armors similar to necrotic grips with thorn.
Just make sunshot ignite on kill lol. Better than incandescent
I love darci a lot as a gun, you could have it to where it highlights weakspots like the head or a cabals back on top of what you mentioned. Not only would that give it a jump in popularity in pvp but also make it a lil easier for new players to learn certain hitboxes
I wonder where DARCI would be in terms of strength if, once its perk activated, every shot that hit dealt precision damage. Like a low skill, decent damage option.
I just wish darci was like the ultimate newb crutch and the destiny community starts saying “darci make easy”
It could help highlight it for your teammates too. So you can get a bonus for every teammate shooting a crit spot and the bonus is shared between other darci users. Just like Outbreak perfected and the touch of malice.
Another comment suggested procing PA on a champion would load whatever champion round you need into your next shot and for it to do the same with elemental shields.
For Darci, I think it could use something unique. I was thinking of something like a mix of box breathing and a personal Divinity. Basically 1 or 2 seconds after you ADS, the Darci will have finished scanning the target and pinpointed a random part of their body that will take more damage than the rest. Only your shots will get the bonus damage and everyone else using Darci will also be given random boody parts with the occasional overlap.
A couple changes I personally had in mind
Sunshot - give it a new perk "sol hearth" - rapid kills with this weapon spawn a solar core, picking up a solar core gives this weapon scorch damage (20x per shot) for 5sec (just enough to get an ignition off)
Hard light - give its catalyst a new perk "light charged" - picking up an orb of light gives this weapon an additional trait corresponding with its selected damage type (void = repulser brace, Solar = incandescent, arc = voltshot) for 10 seconds
Prospector - this one was actually pretty hard... until I realized its grenades did burn damage. Why not have its catalyst give it incandescent, now you have an arc grenade launcher that can also do a little bit of solar damage on the side, not as bad.
Polaris Lance - wouldn't give this one scorch but instead give it vorpal weapon, this lets it do some solid dps while also refunding ammo. Subtle, but makes it a better pick
Colony - this one is more or less a rework - Increase the blast radius, increase the speed of the spiders, nerf the damage, BUT give the spiders the ability to suppress targets. In PvP this thing can shut down supers and neuter a guardian. In PvE you can shut down a room and give you and your team some added survivability
Polaris lance getting scortch would technically be a nerf as the perfect fifth shot would no longer be able to 2 tap in PvP due to burn.
I feel like changing the catalyst from dragonfly to incandescent would be a good change. Keep the perfect 5th burn but spread scorch on kills so the potential of getting the perfect 5th burn and scorch burn together would be interesting to see as well as making it decent for ad clear.
That’s only in pvp tho
Depends on the amount of Scorch applied, I think. Maybe, I'd need to see the exact numbers.
@@johnathanmonsen6567 no, scorch alone will never kill
The worldline zero could make you amplified for 3-5 seconds after a running heavy attack. Playing in the movement capabilities it offers.
+having to wait less time for the charge while you are amped. 👍
Why not make D.A.R.C.I an all in one Anti-Champ tool?
"While zoomed in, D.A.R.C.I analyzes the champion and calibrates the damaging payload to stun and effectively weaken the champion..."
That would be very overpowered in general but since it's a heavy weapon, some compromises should be crossed.
thta actually doesnt sound bad, maybe make it a second tier. Like first tier for crit highlight and bonus prescision, hold even longer for anti-champion.
I like this. Keep it as a heavy and make it an All-In-One. The more I think about it the more I love it
I like this. Keep it as a heavy and make it an All-In-One. The more I think about it the more I love it
it’s darci nothing you give it would be overpowered.
I don’t think it would b overpowered considering it is heavy and champions are not in all content. Adding that would not affect PvP or Gambit. It would only affect activities with champions and if it was really considered overpowered, just limit the ammo. Personally I still wouldn’t use it because you would likely run out of ammo before it could prove it’s worth.
It would be cool if you could hold heavy attack for Worldline Zero to basically blink to your target, even if it's further away, while also turning your double jump into a blink while it's in your hands
Titans: "we can blink now!!!"
@@jeromysanchez7689 They fly now!?
The other thing I've been saying Monte should get for a while is a Catalyst perk that basically gives it melee Osmosis. Imagine if using your powered melee also changed its damage to match subclass.
Better yet, it infuses the element into the guns knife and you can use it as a glaive, it would also trigger powered melee abilities like roaring flames or knockout giving fire and arc damage melee respectively
Forgot Tommy's Matchbook. It should 100% be doing Scorch when it's in the self-damage mode.
My idea for world line was an "alternate firing mode." Once you've sprinted long enough to activate Tesseract, you could instead expend an amount of ammo to "warp dimensions." This would basically turn you invisible and give you damage resistance. It would also give you a visual effect where everything turns kinda blue? Like you were looking into the battlefield from another dimension. You could then exit that dimension by activating the spin attack. There'd obviously be a timer on warping dimensions.
This might be more of a pvp thing, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Edit: Just heard about you wanting DARCI ideas. I actually mentioned this on another one of these videos TDT put out, but it got lost among the millions ig. Anyway, give an extra perk to the catalyst called information networking: While the lock is active, nearby allies get a 15% buff to weapon damage. This is it's own buff so it'd stack with weapons of light and such. This would kind of play into the information gathering aspect of DARCI.
I really do like the idea of aligning all the elemental exotics with their subclasses by adding the 3.0 statuses to them. Things like scorch, ignite, jolt, etc like you mention here but there's even more exotics this could be applied to. I think just aligning them all like this would go a long way in creating more builds makes the game feel more like an mmo. Destiny has done a lot to shift in the direction of feeling like you can make actual synergistic builds but there is still a lot of older stuff to clean up and align with the current sandbox. Some of these exotics should interact with buffed statuses too like Radiant and amplified
I would love to see a version of Hard Light that uses the darkness subclasses
Like stasis to slow down enemies, and the new strand to lock enemies with some kind of harpoon
Maybe, once there are three Darkness Subclasses, there can be a kinetic-slot twin to Hard Light that cycles through Darkness elements.
Soft darkness
@@lavadora8219 XD
That is the best DARCI fix I’ve ever heard just add intrinsic anti barrier as well
I just started using the Monte Carlo after I switched from the the Sunshot. With my current build, Monte Carlo is amazing during pve like vanguard where swarms of enemies are pushing and I can spam my vortex grenade. And sunshot has the same effect but possibly better for solar builds since some builds require kills with solar weapons, and in pve when a lot of enemies are crowded together, the sunshot comes in handy since you really only need to kill one in order to kill all of them
My additional rework to add to yours for the suros regime would be to also give it perks with each setting. I was thinking spinning up could get subsistence, while in focused fire it got focus fury as a perk. Each perk plays into the style that each mode provides and it would give it that extra bump in pve to make it a solid exotic choice for general gameplay and even in end game settings.
This sounds more broken than it would be in execution, and more so a coding nightmare, but they’ve been able to do this with Khavostov in the past with its multi frame exotic setup.
2:51 Gonna be honest, giving it Jolt wouldn’t help that much. Half Truths can get both Eager’s Edge and chain reaction (with enhanced versions). Worldline honestly would still be power crept, the exotic either needs to be better than Eager’s Edge, or just completely reworked
Tbh I can’t think of a way to make worldline good alongside keeping its identity, kinda just feels like since we have lament now most exotic swords lost value in terms of damage… maybe if it played into an ad clear role, something like having chain reaction in it or a similar perk that allows it to go through groups easily, iirc it would be the first vortex with chain or at least first in a while, no?
I think it should create 2 "clones" of you that target other enemies around you when you do the blink attack. As if you're summoning versions of yourself from alternate timelines to take out enemies around you. I think that would make it viable and even a good PVP option if you manage to get heavy and find people grouped up.
I agree but I cant think of anything that buffs it without changing its power fantasy. Got another idea?
@@TDTProductions Honestly just getting rid of the sprint requirement would go a long way in making it more usable. Beyond that, giving it more tele range could give it a niche as an ultimate form of eager edge
I think it should get some damage resist while you've got the heavy attack prepped, and Overload on the heavy attack, as well as having more damage and a larger AoE on the heavy attack
Darcy Rework:
Keep it in the Heavy Slot and make it so that whenever you active the exotic perk on a campion it gains the necessary trait needed to defeat it (unstoppable, piercing, or overload).
It’s damage isn’t great still and it’s taking up your heavy, but to offset that cost you would have a single weapon that could deal any champion you encounter. Let’s you do whatever you want for your kinetic and energy without having to worry about what weapons are allowed in endgame content this season.
Two Tailed Fox would be amazing if it could fully employ both solar and void verbs
With D.A.R.C.I being an AI gun, something with smart targeting or body shots acting as crits (PvE) or having higher damage (PvP) could be cool 🤖🔫
That would be nice.
"DARCI will redirect some missed headshots into body shots, and will redirect some bodyshots into headshots"
That would be cool. What if after you get a precision hit on a target then every shot after counts as a crit even if you hit the body.
I really like your idea with the Suros having double champion mods. I hope that each season going forward Bungie picks up a few of these exotics and does something like what you're saying. Either 3.0 subclass synergy or built in champion mods
I always like the idea people put forward of making DARCI the jack of all trades champion gun, make Personal Assistant trigger like Box Breathing then add all champ mods to Target Acquired. The fact that it takes up a heavy slot kinda self-balances it IMO, you wouldn't want everyone on a squad running it because it takes up both your exotic slot and a lot of your biggest damage dealers. Worst case scenario they can reduce the damage or ammo in reserves as the trade-off for utility if the perks are too strong. This is all assuming they keep Champs around going forward.
DARCI would be cooler if the personal assistant was actually a personal assistant. Make it highlight and track all targets in view when ADS and make it to where if you aim at the same target long enough, then the weapon will automatically aim and track them for you.
For worldline, since it has a time theme to it, what if you could hold down the heavy attack for a “time loop” sort of attack. It’s the same base, you sprint and heavy attack, but you can hold down the button to keep the heavy attack going and constantly doing damage and draining sword ammo
That's really a solid idea.
I'd like to see borealis get a nice change I feel like it's been heavily left behind and the only thing the catalyst does is give it reload speed even if it's something like dragonfly or something
For worldline I'd make it like parasite sort of. With light attack kills you build static charge 2x if amplified with slightly longer lunge. When you have stacks you do the tesseract blink and it summons a lightning storm whose size and damage is based off stacks. When amplified the strikes jolt.
Call Truth's Catalyst "Burden of Proof" it near maxes the velocity and gives full court. LOVE IT
You: Truth is outdated
Me who enjoys gambit as an invader: "Truth is, the game was rigged from the start." Lol
truth is the best rocket launcher for invading hands down
Eyes of Tomorrow would like a word
Restore it's glory with a buff back to D1 levels of tracking, I wanna see rockets making full circles around targets again
Worldline Zero is my favourite exotic weapon, so I've already thought about how to buff it. For PVP, every sword swipe should be a blink strike, and the heavy one should still require sprinting before unleashing and jolt targets like you said.
well but then again, it wouldn't really be fun for the enemy to have someone teleporting all over the place. making the charged attack not auto lock on a target for a clean swipe through a hoard of enemies would be good and fun rather than sticking to one target and leaving the other targets untouched, having to use more sword ammo for them or just other weapon ammo. plus making the charged attack damage increase the longer you sprint to a maximum of a 10-15% damage increase at a 5 seconds or so max build-up requirement could help too. but eh that's just my prespective on "myself", everything else is fine imo.
@@1Albedo Regardless, you need something to help you rise again.
Also i would love if Sweet Business had Osmosis (Throwing a grenade copies the energy type of your class)
Would make making builds around it way more fun
The fact that Zalouli's Bane has incandescent and explosive payload, it has effectively made the Sunshot a complete waste of an exotic slot. Applying scorch to clusters of enemies makes the Bane do massive ignition explosions that'll outright surpass sunshot explosions. For titans, it'll spawn constant Sun Spots that when paired with Phoenix Cradle create healing rifts for TEAM MATES TOO, and apply damage/ further scorch to enemies walking through it. Given its origin trait, runneth over, BOOSTED by the seasonal artifact mod you can get up to like 20+ shots in the mag... Also, because you can craft it, you can build it however you want and apply enhanced perks...
Sunshot has literally been defeated!
I’d like to see Malfeasance get a catalyst that increases in range and maybe reduces it to 3-4 shots for the explosion.
That would make Malfeasance the best gun in crucible. 4 shot kill at any range for a 180? Insane.
It would be cool if Hard light had "elemental capacitor" Perk except it would depend on it's element and not a subclass
Edit:typo
exotics like hard light who's catalysts only give stat bonuses are held back enough already. it would be cool, yeah, but it needs a lot more
@@jordanreavis8163 I guess you Are right
So I actually want Whisper to be updated like this
White Nail: Deal massively increased precision damage and every 3rd precision hit will cause an ignition.
The reason I chose these numbers is because getting precision shots with a sniper in pve is already a challenge. So giving guardians a reward for landing consecutive shots will make this gun more viable for those who can hit their shots. Plus you get the bonus of ignitions on top of your overall damage as well as having some ad clear potential
For darci, when it’s personal assistant is proc’d it reveals weak spots for all champions where hitting said weak point would stun the champion whether or not for all players is using a champ mod. Also does bonus damage to weak spots
The weak spots would be limbs that are highlighted for the darci user. Every stun the weak spot moves to a different limb
Giving sunshot ignitions is simply too strong with all the options to increase its potency. It’d be nice, but we don’t need to power creep even further
Maybe they could add something to the catalyst that applies scorch to targets affected by Sun Blast(the explosions after a final blow).
True, I'd say instead have it do scorch like how Skyburners does it. Sun shot already has a sort of burn it applies (I think) just make it scorch.
@@padawanjon6441 incandescence?
Even though I’d love ignitions. I agree ignitions aren’t supposed to happen often and should mainly only happen on major or bias enemies it would be better if I applied some kind from my explosions to a target if they live through it.
I think if they did something like every 3rd or 4th kill would be fine
For a darci buff, to go along with the idea of analyzing the target and having info appear in the scope, what if scanning enemies with darci makes darci land precision damage no matter where they hit the target. Like as if its analyzing weak spots in your whole body rather than just the head. Would fix the “accessibility” issue with divinity being some people only way to hit crits and could maybe not be the “best” dps but good enough for bad players. Also wouldnt be broken in pvp since its a heavy weapon.
Or maybe let Darci get progressively higher aim assist the longer you keep a target in the scope, with AA also spiking up faster when you land hits. Would be a good reliable workhorse in boss damage for ones with hard to hit weakspots/lots of incoming flinch, and in Crucible it *could* be a bit of an easy mode which isn't ideal, but because the perk would require hardscoping to activate and stack the AA it would be a risky strat. Really only good to slog through a crucible sniper bounty on the PvP side
for Darci I feel like it should be given “smart “ bullets, when the scope acquires a target, it has a larger cone that tracks to the targets head, that why you can safely mag dump and still hit heads.
Another comment, I was thinking what if Destiny had a hidden buff synergy through the champions you fight against?
"Any champion defeated with the associated Anti-Champion weapon will temporarily buff the players until the end of the activity, based on the following..."
*Overload* = Dramatically increased Health regen at max x5,
*Unstoppable* = Dramatically increased Mobility, Jump, and Reload at x5
*Barrier* = Full, instant Overshields at x5 through and after regenerating health, along with tiny damage resistance"
Ideas for (not covered) PvP Kinetic weapons to work in PvE:
MIDA-Multi Tool: Because it’s supposed to make you be faster and be a literal multitool, I think giving it Adaptive Munitions makes sense (even though it’s an elemental-exclusive perk) alongside a new perk where you deal more damage the more you shoot at a single target while moving. It’s an exponential growth where the first 4 bullets don’t do a lot (as to balance it in PvP), but after that it begins to ramp up to 30-50% within the next couple of bullets. The faster you strafe, the faster the growth is, and it all disappears if you hit a new target
Sweet Business: I mean, I dunno if this gun fits into either category, but how about we make it so kills with this weapon increase Resilience, movement, and grants a small Overshield (5-10%) per kill? You can even give it Frenzy to play a full tank role
Cerberus+1: Same thing with Sweet Business where I don’t know where this is supposed to fit, but first of all, buff the slow-firing mode to give a fat Range increase and more damage so it’s actually usable. Secondly, what if we gave it Trench Barrel? Something in my brain wants me to go crazy with the idea, so what if this thing just had Trench Barrel slapped onto it for fun. Make it so it’s only for the higher RPM mode so you can’t just get a melee and then cross-map 2 guys in PvP
No Time To Explain: It’s almost there, I think what would be cool is if the Time Buddy could stack. With continued firing, you could have several buddies at the same time, just make it so that the next Rewind Again stacks after the first one are limited-time for 3 seconds (refreshes on precision hit) and don’t become permanent again until all Time Buddies disappear. I don’t think it’d hurt PvP too much since getting 20 headshots in a row would be too hard
Forerunner: Make The Rock actually deal damage, firstly, and secondly, I’d give it a Field Prep (mainly for the reserves increase), Demolitionist, and Anti-Barrier to make it feel like a super-primary. Additionally, make The Rock scorch. You can even add Rampage if it’s not enough
Sturm: Bait and Switch + Subsistence. You can even modify it so it’s a custom version of Bait and Switch where it lasts longer and/or deals even more damage. Shoot, just give it Overload too, and give it a reverse Harmony where kills with Sturm buff the other elemental gun
The Chaperone: Make a perk where consecutive precision hits increase this weapon’s damage, and it caps at 50% at 3 hits
Crimson: After 3 kills, spawn a Restorative Light well (the ones you see in the modifier where you can’t heal unless you kill enemies that drop healing wells) that grants you uninterrupted healing for 5 seconds and a lingering buff to all stats for 10 seconds, give or take
The Jade Rabbit: After 10 hits, press a button to convert into an alternate firing move where all Stability, Aim Assist, and Recoil Direction is sacrificed for 100-300% more damage and 260 RPM for 10 seconds or until 10 shots are fired. I had to be very ambitious with this one since ideas for this are low
On the topic Cerberus, I always thought the alternate mode should feel like baby Xenophage. Slow firing but CHONKING enemies for a primary weapon.
Simple monte carlo cat gives you grenade energy on hit at the same rate of ur meele.
That would be so overpowered
That would be crazy, I think it’s catalyst is gonna let you stab with it like they were saying
I was absolutely baffled by how many solar exotics do not work intrinsically with solar 3.0, so many have explosion or DOTs but are separate from ignite and scorch. Incandescent, one perk, does more for solar 3.0 then most solar exotics.
I think Queen Breakers needs a rework too. It blinds enemies that are hit by it but most enemies hit by it will die making the effect only worth it on bosses and champions.
Maybe it could be something like: precision kills blind nearby enemies. Enemies blinded by the exotic will be jolted if they take arc damage from any source. Also let us switch the firing mode by holding down the reload button.
Why would Bungie buff free powercrept weapons, they prefer to make stronger p2w exotics
I didn’t talk about this but I really think this is part of their reasoning.
Jeez this is true.
Chris Proctor said during firing range that they were looking at touching about 20 exotics alongside the functionality of Lord of Wolves for season 19 if memory serves
Yeah cuz quick silver storm is so meta rn.
I've been preaching for a Catalyst to The Last Word for ages. Just give it 2 extra bullets and maybe a better handling score. When you break it down 2 extra bullets gives you so much more leniency in using the Fan Fire perk to it's fullest and allows you to even go for a potential triple kill if you manage to land 9 consecutive headshots against 3 guardians. It's a super simple change that doesn't mess around with how the gun feels on mouse + keyboard or controller but just allows it to be more rewarding to those who take the time to learn it. I mean it still sucks in PvE but you can't make every gun great for both PvE and PvP.
I'd much rather get catalysts for guns that aren't already top tier
I still pray for the day that QBB returns to its home as a special weapon. Blinding/Jolting for Arc 3.0 would be sick for it.
I feel having it that once D.a.r.c.i gives the information on the target if it’s a champion adapt to effect that champion at cost of extra ammo for each hit
something to note that you completely ignored, or are ignorant of, is that the perk 'full auto trigger system' is being removed from the game and is going to be replaced on exotic weapons/catalysts with something else when bungie makes 'full auto' a usability perk in the options menu instead of a weapon mod/perk, meaning that many of the exotic weapons with said perk may well end up being looked at and properly reworked to accommodate that change making some of your picks here pointless.
A thought for The Prospector is after emptying the clip it would do exotic things on its last shot. When the trigger is still held, it will still launch grenades at lower rate of fire but will detonate a grenade everytime it fires. I think making it's "set on fire" a proper scorch burn instead of something more obvious like jolt, for which I think grenades which hit a wall and act like a "trap" will Jolt enemies. This I think will result in having this do two elemental "explosions" where hitting directly causes Scorch => Ignition and finally releasing the trigger jolts.
Borealis: Shield pops with this weapon have increased radius and debuffs enemies depending on the element.
Arc: blind
Void: weaken
Solar: scorch
Poping a barrier shield has an increased explosion radius and a longer more effective debuff.
Similar to how Lumina pairs with Boots of the Assembler, and Necrotic grips work with Thorn, perhaps a good idea is to add a similar synergy between DARCI and Knucklehead Radar. Make a full 'information' based setup where you know more about the battlefield than anyone else, a true scout build.
Rework ideas:
Darci - After aiming the target for a while (similar duration like No Distraction), make all shots become precision damage regardless of where you hit.
Truth - Give it something like the Eyes of Tomorrow, ADS to track a target, and fires an aggressive tracking rocket. This allows people to track and shoot around corners.
Really hope you do a video like this about super outdated exotic armor pieces. I use the mask of the quiet one all the time just because of it’s aesthetic but jfc I wish it was updated. It’s perk and shaderability
I would love to see Ticuu's arrows apply 10 scorch per stack, and the aimed arrow to immediately cause ignitions on scorched targets. This would allow it so synergize with solar abilities in the same way that Trinity Ghoul's Lightning Rod can be procced by abilities. Just a fun idea.
I like the idea, but that would be unbelievably overpowered. Definitely feels like it needs to synergize though, maybe applying a little scorch per explosion?
There were a bug at start of prior season where sunshot's explosion kill- single kill, no multikill- was counted as multikill for the fragment that drop an orb for ignition multikill, and its one hella time
Truth is a must pick for Gambit. That's definitely where that weapon shines.
It would definitely be if “Eyes of Tomorrow” didn’t exist. Both track, one is just objectively better.
Prospector: leaving grenades stuck to targets scorches them. The burning now also deals solar damage.
what about Tommy's Matchbook why add Incandescent, unrelenting, and scorch while Ignition trigger is on, so it adds more usability and ad clearing to get synergistic with Solar 3.0.
Glance got reworked and turnabout on that gun is just fantastic, every week I see people using it in trials shooting supers, and in master nightfalls the absolute best
As a sunshot main, I actually think ignitions would nerf it UNLESS you build around it. Ignitions require scorch builds.
I would MUCH rather prefer to see the “highlights targets” trait become “scorches targets” to allow more usage with scorch builds. Keep the explosiveness of it, ignore ignitions, but allow it to apply x7 scorch stacks and x10 scorch stacks per shot with ashes equipped. A minor change, but will allow you to use it more effectively against majors, eventually igniting if you need to, but generally speaking will hold it’s “infinite explosions” identity.
Worldline Zero - Chain heavy attacks on kill at reduced ammo usage
SUROS - Give it Fourth's Time in Spinning Up, and make it a burst fire in Dual Speed
Hard Light - Charge shot; after 4 rapid kills, hold reload to switch to "beam mode" to fire a single, high damage shot
Prospector - Scorch on hit akin to a Fusion Grenade
D.A.R.C.I. - Rapid Hit + Focused Fury, also Suppresses (yes, as Arc). Stays Heavy.
For darci when personal assistant activates it deals a stacking debuff for snipers where for every precision shot you land it adds an extra stack of debuff up to 50% but only for crit damage on snipers
DARCI should be an ultra high range scout rifle. Literally the base weapon used for the model is a New Monarchy Hakke scout rifle.
An interview a while back mentioned that next season we should be getting a bunch of reworks on weapons functioning with the 3.0s
For Darci: I could see Personal Assistant reworked into a merger of Adaptive Munitions and Box Breathing. Aim at a target for a second to acquire a matching damage type, then hitting it does and significant boost to the elemental explosion on shield break. An elemental nuke. Make that REALLY worth using on elemental shielded bosses.
Worldline Zero: What if it was like a mixture of the charge like The Lament, and the Slide melee from Warlock? Running a certain amount of distance revs the weapon, then you get extra teleport distance, and a bigger 'call lightning' effect when you land? Maybe boost it even further when amplified to synergize with Arc 3.0
For Polaris Lance, give it basekit anti barrier or unstoppable, then everything it has already + scorch on explosions + the catalyst now gives dragonfly and increases the progression at which you scorch targets with the explosion.
Sunshot keeps your restoration and radiant timer to keep going with the right fragment that allows solar kills to extend said timers
Tdt, I have an exotic idea that's a rework OF PRAXIC FIRE,
Exchange dawnblade super for radiance super but it has a 15 min cooldown and doubles your abilities cooldown to balance it out.
From what I know, I don't think there is a single weapon that has built-in overload and I think that is intentional to force you to switch your weapons up (for at least overload) each season because otherwise the artifact mods would be a lot less forced.
Divinity has intrinsic, and now thunderlord and Lemonarque too
Perfect fifth for Polaris needs to just be a straight up ignition round and the explosion from firefly on regular kills should scorch. On the note of Suros, Queen Breaker needs to be able to switch scopes on the fly like you suggested for the Suros fire modes. Would be nice if the precision blinding also did a bit of jolting too. It IS a heavy weapon afterall. The idea you had for DARCI is great, but it would also be cool if it could jolt and similar to the Eriana's precision buff, could ramp up that jolt damage the longer you could maintain precision hits. Two tailed fox was not on here but that just points to the fact that its just THAT much more forgotten. Idk what they could do to that thing to make it stand out but maybe making the solar rocket scorch or ignite on top of the void one suppressing. Couldnt hurt to have them leave the barrel faster too. Cant tell ya how many times ive tried to use it like a normal rocket launcher and blow my self up because the rockets left the tube just a split second too late as i was getting into cover.
Great video! Some great ideas to revamp these Exotics too
My Titan only runs the *Monte Carlo* 🤷🏾 I love having Melee up constantly. It works pretty well with the Warlock class, too, but I normally run Thorn on my Warlock.
The Queenbreaker: Give it Voltshot and move it to Special Ammo
Tarrabah: Incandescent when Unleashing the Beast
The Colony: Projectiles apply Volatile
Xenophage: Give it Incandescent
Sweet Business: Move to Special Ammo and give it Subsistence
Two-Tailed Fox: Void Rocket applies Volatile, Solar Rocket applies Scorch (lmao)
Few things: 1. Worldline was only used for warlock back when it worked. 2. You forgot what makes sunshot nuts, 150rpm and mad range with catalyst.
Adding anti-champion properties and/or synergies with the 3.0 systems (scorch/jolt/weaken) feels like an easy fix/buff to do for most exotics, hope Bungie really considers doing more of those
Name: boomstick
Flavor text: BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE
Weapon type: Energy solar pellet shotgun
Exotic perk: chargeable shotgun: this gun can be charged consuming 1 bullet every 2 secs the trigger is held. Release the trigger fires all shots in one huge shot. Charging for 3 secs after all shots are consumed cause the gun to detonate killing the wielder
Exotic perk: Explosive payload
Catalyst: TIMED PAYLOAD
Alternatively Holding a target in the reticle without firing for 1.5 seconds loads a special round that adapts to its target (the round loaded will be indicated in the reticle)
Champion/Boss: 200% damage (not burst efficient but very ammo efficient)
Multiple Red bars in view of: HE round with bonus Blast Radius
Guardian: Suppression Round the next shot suppresses the target (I mean its heavy ammo so this seems reasonable)
TDT, if you put it on slower fire when ADS, the spinning up trait will be active when you hip-fire
Could give D.A.R.C.I. Unstoppable rounds, but that just feels like a stopgap. Maybe it could play more into its Exotic perk by having built in… what was that perk called? The one that makes the weapon do better against non-matching shields. That one.
My favorite exotic used to be the Bad Juju, before they switched to unlimited primary ammo. That was literally 50% of it's appeal, that it generated it's own ammo upon a kill.
It's still fine for strikes and low level play, but it's doesn't keep up in high end encounters
The Monte Carlo could give a melee bonus too once it gets more melee kills. The sunshot could give scorch only if the enemy it kills explodes and damages them, also change the recoil animation. The world line zero could have an arc wave frame GL effect when you use its heavy also maybe amplify you so you can move faster. For the hardlight maybe each element you change between anti-champion mods or changes between the origin traits from different weapons. I've honestly thought about the prospector, truth, and Polaris Lance and got very little.
Here’s an idea for borealis, swap the fundamental perk to it’s secondary trait and give it elemental effects based on the damage type precision kills. For example
Solar Precision kill: Causes an ignition
Void precision kill: Grants you Void Overshield
Arc precision kill: Makes you and nearby Allies Amplified
•100% agree with Suros update.
•Monte: a one hit kill bayonet stab after 3 kills. Make it where it can even kills supers if you can pull it off.
•Sweet business: just give it feeding frenzy
•Cerberus: change the catalyst to a 2 tap since you have to practically smell their nuts in order to get a kill with it. Extend kill range by 2 meters.
•Two-tailed fox: increase lockon by half a second
•Symmetry: 20 stacks of revolution should be able to 1 tap. You've earned you 6 second electric Jotuun after getting that many stacks. Two tap supers.
•Mida: give it rapid hit. Thing bounces too much.
"Not the worst but left behind" summs it up pretty well
