I'd like to do more parts and make this a series since I can't fit every great riff in one video, so make sure to leave your favorite riffs ever in the comments to see if it will make the cut for Part 2! Keep shreddin'. - Tyler
My favourite are Master of Puppets and Wherever I may roam
Music is Win hows about welcome to bucket headland? That one's great!
Waves by Guthrie Govan and all of Dimebags riffs
Music is Win Bad to the bone riff would be nice
Man in the box or Would?
Every comment here: “How dare you not choose my favorite riffs”
😂
How dare you choose the riffs you like. And how dare you play them slightly differently to the original recording. It's almost as if this is your channel... 🙄
How dare you not mimic the guitarist's riff perfectly until your hands are identical to theirs even though I can't do any better myself
Lmao
I like you, common sense man
As a fan of classic rock and MANY guitar heroes, I'm still not even the slightest bit upset that Lenny Kravitz started this video. Fly Away is a banger
Legend
2:13 I was so surprised that my favorite song appeared on this video!
I thought wherever i may roam was underrated as hell
Yea dude same
@Jipie yeah
It's just that i feel like its barely mentioned
Like master of puppets is the cool guy and roam is the invisible kid...
@@siccbastard4580 the fuck? It's the 3rd most popular hit song off The Black Album.
Tyrone Smith because master of puppets is way better
I wasnt suprised
The whole list can be filled with led zeppelin and black sabbath riffs
sorry but why would black sabbath be there pls no hate
@@cochoarturo9268 because they have great riffs for example: sweet leaf, war pigs, iron man, sabbath bloody sabbath, paranoid,a national acrobat, and...
poker_face oh ok thanks and yeah war pigs and iron man last but not least paranoid is great too thanks tho!
Tony iommi (guitarist for Black Sabbath) is referred to as the riff master because he seemingly writes an incredible riff for every song
Zeppelin is very overrated
I've always wanted to play guitar.. but the beginning just seems so SLoW AnD fRUsTraTInG
SaCuL BBXツ lol every single ad I see on a guitar vid
*hard and frustrating*
Mike Hunt "slow and frustrating
terold m lmao same. I hate it so much 😂😂
I almost spit out my drink at this comment. Thank you
You need some Black Sabbath on the next one. I mean, pretty much every song they did had a killer riff.
Hell yeah my guy
the first 6 albums are fucking amazing
Killing yourself to live is so heavy
albin mällström what about the riff of a national acrobat
Ethan Rummel into the void, children of grave under the sun cornucopia sabbath bloody sabbath eletric funeral snowblind sabbra cadabra black sabbath st vitus dance could go on forever
Suggestions for part 3:
Iron Maiden: Hollowed be Thy Name
Pantera: 5 Minutes Alone
Megadeth: Holy Wars
Budgie: Breadfan
Stevie Ray Vaughan: Look At Little Sister
Alice in Chains: Man in the Box
Alice in chains: Them bones
Alice in chains: Rain when i die
Aic nutshell
Breadfan is so underrated
Scuttle buttin+
Best guitar riffs ever made:
Plays bass line for money
🧐🤔🤨
Still guitar.
The Falkland Islands
Bass guitar only adopts the shape of a guitar but is technically a (double) bass.
Maybe the guitar plays along with the bass in the song.
@torchpost it doesn't
Bass is a type of guitar
Oh cmon dude u gotta do the muting in Cant Stop
Came looking for this comment...also in "who did you think I was" by Mayer...muting is a must
I tried it, for me as a beginner it's SO hard to mute it, you got any Tips on how it's easier?
Yoffo practice slowly, and work on your left hand, that's the way I did :)
Yoffo idk if this is an accepted way to play the riff but...
I lay my whole index finger (left hand) across the strings to mute it. Then i use my other 3 fingers (Middle, ring, and pinky) to play the notes. Makes sure to not put any pressure on the strings with your index finger, just a tad.
EXACTLY
Did you just play Can't Stop the way i think you did
Which way? 🤔
@@jorgedutra5891 With no muting...
The song should be muted because it’s so bad
Fin Malby You think Frusciantes guitar riffs are bad ?
I don't like his hand positioning on it either. He didn't play it the way the original is.
Sure Smells Like Teen Spirit is the most iconic Nirvana riff but far from the best one. Lithium has the title of tastiest Nirvana riff imo
Negative creeps riff is just 👌
Clarence Sampang Breed is pretty nasty too
About A Girl is a perfect riff
School is underrated
Aero Zeppelin***
The intro to Mr. Brownstone is another great riff by GnR.
Good call.
All GnR riffs are brilliant.
The best for me are My Michelle, Coma and Don't Damn Me.
Also a lot of Slash's other bands (Snakepit, SMKC, Velvet Revolver) have some great riffs like Slither (One of the best riffs of all time IMO), Let It Roll, Speed Parade, Shadow Life, Beneath The Savage Sun.
Slash and Izzy really are badass guitarists.
Mr. Moustache by nirvana
Whole lotta love-led zeppelin
Walk this way-aerosmith
Jonny b. Gode-chuck berry
Pride and joy-steve ray vougan
Master of puppets-metallica
Johnny B. Goode doesn’t really have a riff.
Conor M. It opens up with a kick ass riff...especially considering the era.
Stevue Ray Vaughan
Riccardo Rizzi Yeah, Master of Puppets deserves to be there.
Stevie Ray vaughan the best
There are too many best guitar riffs in this world
Starlord At least 100
100? More like 100.000.000
I just broke my arm and can’t play guitar for six weeks... wish me luck
Damn man. My worst fear
This is the saddest thing ive ever read
You still play?
You still play?
Oy mate are you still playing???
Tyler: plays "Life in the fast lane"
Eagles: DEMONETIZATION
Bodysnatchers-radiohead
Plug in baby-muse
New born-muse
Reptilia-the strokes
Great vid btw
- Sweet Child O Mine, GNR

- American Woman, Lenny Kravitz
- Whole Lotta Love, Led Zeppelin
- Little Wing, Jimmi Hendrix
- It Won't Take Long, Rolling Stones
- Money For Nothing, Dire Straits
- Walk This Way, Aerosmith
Marco Boccini uh, its Jimi Hendrix not Jimmi
R6Siege 4life
Same thing
Sweet child of mine has to honestly be the most overplayed and over rated songs of all time, it has no business being on the list lmao
Money for nothing! Show me anyone that can play that riff the way Mark Knopfler wrote it, I dare ya😀
As many others have said, its almost like its his channel and he's playing the riffs he wants to
Iron man, satisfaction, Layla, Walk this way and obviously Smoke on the water
Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Sultans of Swing - Dire Strait
Barracuda
Back in Black, Highway to Hell -AC/DC
Was about to post the exact same thing
I don't know, BiB is overrated in my opinion
+Jacob Molyneux Okay, who? Seriously, give me links. Even if that were true, isn't that my point?
+Jacob Molyneux I didn't make a point? Then what the fuck are you arguing with me over? I said BiB is overrated IN MY OPINION.
Jesus Christ, who'd have thought I needed to fucking explain this. Don't they teach this shit in like year 4 of primary school?
Glad someone mentioned Knights. So much better riff than Psycho imo
The Trooper by Iron Maiden
Saying that has one of the greatest riffs of all time doesn't do it justice. It's one of the greatest pieces of music ever written in the history of recorded music.
Are we just ignoring the fact that he played the bass riff for Money?
It’s also played on guitar
The guitar plays the same line as the bass during the verse. Well, actually they are two guitars: the rhythmic one and the lead that plays that line
I know, isn't it great?
Isn't it played on guitar with an octave pedal?
Yes
The bridge/breakdown riff from Knights of Cydonia by Muse, and the every pre-vocal part of Aces High by Maiden.
Laid to rest - Lamb of god

The metal - Tenacious D
how about putting every meshuggah track in there
KriZzZ Gojira??
Frusciante hammers all the strings with his right hand playing cant stop
jiyan aydemir yeees muting strings for that fat sound with more attack
ace striker No offense but the way Tyler played it sounded so weak and funny to me since ive been a fan of John Fru for so long haha
jiyan aydemir Aren't you special being a fan of Fruciante.
jiyan aydemir Holy Shit!!! It's almost as if he's playing something the way he wants to. Perish the thought
The Third Man It gives a completely different feeling, no groove left. He can it play it his way or properly.
I noticed that all of these riffs are really easy
obviously
It says best riffs not easiest riff.. You think best is hard huh?
shockwave 217 yes that is what I think
Glongus hardest doesn’t mean best sometimes the simplest riffs sound the best
shockwave 217 Jacob never said anything about hard riffs being better, he was just pointing out that these ones seem pretty easy.
...or ....every riff played at Guitar Center..
not really
Not stairway
@@anthonyv.4278 yeah lmao you'll get murdered if you play stairway
Tornado of souls, welcome home(sanitarium)

Wait, no Sabbath? Well , you can have entire part1 with Sabbath riffs!!!
I was just about to comment that and then saw yours
thank you
As rob zombie once said "every badsss riff was already written by sabbath"
srinidhi kandi Toni Iomni is probably the second greatest rhythm player ever behind Dave Mustaine.
that's pretty edgy i dont know man
Raining Blood- Slayer
Paranoid- Black Sabbath
Johnny B Goode- Chuck Berry
Aces High - Iron Maiden
Cowboys from Hell- Pantera
Mr Brightside - The Killers
Blind - Korn
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Holy Wars - Megadeth
Forty Six and 2 - Tool
Seven Nation Army - White Stripes
I agree with your bent toward the heavier metal. Lamb of God probably deserves some rep on most "best riffs ever written" lists. Just pick a riff from 11th Hour at random.
The refrain, in particular, is god-tier (copy/paste, bc hyperlinking timestamps isn't working):
ua-cam.com/video/LTmAmCEIIo4/v-deo.html#t=0m51s
Hallowed be thy name -Iron Maiden
Purgatory -Iron Maiden

Most iconic maybe....
Best riffs?! No sir.
What are some others you consider to be better
Plz dont name 50 indie songs that no ones heard before
yes they are sir
Yea this is normie level trash
@@Spamdrew128 knights of cydonia.
Dude! I love the guitar tones in your videos! Definitely my favorite from all UA-camrs
Thats one disgustin way to play Can't Stop lol
Vamonos Pest sounded awful haha
Yeah should have had more muted notes, not percussive enough imo.
Yeah that's how i played it when i was a total beginner at this song. You gotta mute the steings you don't need and pump dem funky strokes
Yeah when you play it like fursciante u feel so fucking good
its suppose to be played struming up and down with left hand mutting😁😁😁
The Ocean, by favorite Zep riff, and rarely in these lists. And Funk 49. Another thing, listening to a bunch of Tom Petty over the last week, I'm struck by how unappreciated Mike Campbell is. The man has an uncanny ability to create killer guitar parts that served the song perfectly.
“Who did think I was” is one my all time favorites. One of the first riffs I play anytime I pick up a strat!
First song which popped up in my head was "Whole lotta love - Led Zeppeline", but I got more. Bark at the Moon (Jake E Lee's version of the song with his insane harmonics and reverse chords), Black Hole Sun, Enter Sandman, Symphony of Destruction, Crossroads with Eric Clapton, Pride and Joy with Stevie Ray Vaughan. God, there's so many good songs to choose...
Ain't talkin bout love.
Christian Lopez yes
Cemetery Gates
Any Pantera song
IMO, cemetary gates is panteras best song.
Love Rush and Collective Soul, two of my favourite bands ever
Love the diversity this list and how clean he keeps all his guitars !!! Respect!
Money for nothing
Day Tripper - Beatles
Glad to see some of my favorites on here 👍
Im not sure why but watching this is putting me to sleep love the video anyway I always watch these to find new songs or bring back memories of forgotten ones to listen to
John Petrucci - Every. Single. One.
Samip Bhattarai yes
Samip Bhattarai THE SOLO FROM PERUVIAN SKIES
Ministry of Lost Souls is by far my favorite song to play and listen to. It was the first DT dog I heard and it still gives me chills listening to it
my first DT song was Another Day and mannnnn was Petrucci killing it with that solo.
Hetfield and Iommi... Riff masters!
Dimebag Darrell too
*page
@@mrsmirk4495 My theory is that Iommi and Page are the same guitarist but with different hands.
Dave mustaine!!!!!
Man Yes! James got so many incredible riffs...Just to say a few, Blackened, Creeping Death (Coop w/ Hammett), Master Of Puppets, Battery and so many more! Riff machine. Fast and strong, also sometimes pretty technically.
I never thought you’d ask. Since this is going to be an 82 part series, we need to get started pronto Tonto. I like the length of the video. I like the tribute to the band with the different guitars. Fender for Nirvana, green paint for Green Day. Really impressed with sneaking Collective Soul and Heavy in there. I didn’t know others liked that riff. And Wherever I May Roam was heartwarming to hear. So, Jump, Pananma. Wait, are we really doing this? You jumped the gun on this one didn’t cha? You didn’t know what you were getting yourself into when you took on this little task. Anything will work. And you play pretty damn good. And that’s why we’ll watch the vids. To hear you play our favorites. Have at it.
Rock on!!! I agree! The best ones!!! I've added to my guitar playlist to learn them all! Thanks a lot!

worgegramsci105 That's a great list, lots of badass riffs!
I'm a simple guy. I see Sabbath, I click like... regardless of what the rest of the comment is
I don't know... Symphony X - Electric Messiah sounds better for me, but I still agree with you
I almost jumped outta my chair when Cochise came up coz I mentioned it to myself before the video and Audioslave is my favourite band of all time XD Great vid too! Keep it up!
NICE you included HEAVY into a best riffs ever video..... Incredible!!!!
Suggestion: "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour.
nice one
Indeed!
MASTER OF PUPPETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zero YEA
I absolutely thought this would be in this video
Was disappointed
So happy to see my favorite riff there where ever i may roam
U left out the absolute most obvious riff😠SMOKE ON THE WATER
This is just part 1
Didn’t want to get demonetized
I don't think hes a good enough player to play that behemoth of a riff!
035
Rudy ayoub made a channel for that
*Most popular guitar riffs
Zero Nouveau Popular for a reason.
Zero Nouveau There really is no other way of measuring when it comes to riffs tho.
Seeing as how best is completely subjective he could have picked any number of factors to include in his definition. Complexity, catchiness, contribution to the music scene at the time, etc. Hes certainly smart enough to have done that if he wanted to. Instead he just made a click'bate middle of the road video with no real content. I like the guy but I expected more out of him.
Mmmm no best guitar riffs. It's what made the song, riffs that'll be taught to the end of times. That high horse of yours is getting a little weak there, you should get off it before it topples over bud.
Mr Sam Nice patronizing sarcasm, but he's right. There are plenty of factors one could use for a list, like this, but, instead, he basically just made a video of the riffs from some hit songs he likes. It's a cool video, but it's nothing special, and isn't accurate to the title.
Where is Lil Wayne riff?
Ahahaha
Actually I'm pretty sure the main riff to prom Queen was written by Korn. Not the live solo though 😂
stifler4eva1 That was exactly what I thought after I saw the red hot shitty peppers & Audioslave instead of Soundgarden, Hahaha... Rage Against the machine??? LMGDFAO!!!...
Don't you mean solo?
Ronnie The Fixxxer Gaytallica, Hahahaha...
Your prs collection is my freaking dream
The Sound of Truth by As I Lay Dying.
Literally can't get any more perfect than that 🤘🏻
Tornado of souls , snow , layla from derek and the dominos , creeping death , N.I.B, the trooper , whole lotta love , nightrain , breaking the law , smooth by santana , maybe holy wars or symphony of destruction , paranoid or war pigs or iron man would also work , money for nothing by dire straits would be cool
There are a ton of cool riffs but those came to my mind at first
Alex Dumitru definitely holy wars. Best metal riff ever.
Lazy by Deep Purple would be a killer
Excellent choices. Here are some additional songs with riffs I list in my favorites. A very eclectic collection. These are all sounds that to me are instantly recognizable, and defined a segment of the rock genre. The intro's on all of these are powerful - though on "Surfin the Wedge" you have to get to the mid section for the guitar, (Dick Dale defined the surf guitar sound).
Satisfaction - Rolling Stones
Drop Dead Legs - Van Halen
Cult of Personality - Living Color
La Grange - ZZ Top
Baracuda - Heart
Surfin the Wedge - Dick Dale
Life's been good - Joe Walsh
Lay it down - RATT
The Beautiful People - Marilyn Manson
Muse-hysteria
Any muse riff tbh
Blood and Thunder // Mastodon \m/
It doesn't have to be complicated to be a really fucking good riff.
So is "just one fix" by Ministry. Still a blast to listen to.
Mother Puncher is the best Mastodon riff, clearly.
Hey man, I just feel really good when I hear this riff! That's why I commented it :)
Sultans Of Swing
Not very intresting riffs there but money fot nothing has an ultra awsome riff
riky8956 That songs more solo than riff.
Layla
riky8956 yes money for nothing
Great video, great riffs
Thanks😎🤘
Bro, I just love the way you play walk.
Gimme three steps - Lynyrd Skynyrd and Up around the bend - Creedence Crealwater Revival

Garrett Bonneville Wow someone else who knows Tesla! And yeah, Megadeth needs to be there too.
Awesome list dude!
Has foghat on the same list as dimebag and Eddie. Lmao what a joke
Great collection. I would always suggest songs like "Walk This Way", "Smoke on The Water", "Whole Lotta Love". But I like your list, because it's unique yet cool.
You always have such good tone
Ain't Talkin bout Love by Van Halen
Gary Moore Still Got The Blues and Man On The Silver Mountain By Rainbow
Really happy to see that collective soul is in here
I love all of those riffs🤘
Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing
Guns & Roses - Sweet Child O Mine
Santana - Black Magic Woman
Jacob Molyneux it's not overrated, it's over used
The Pot by Tool.
Abraham Sepulveda Stinkfist
Or schism
Love that you added heavy by collective soul not many people know how awesome that riff is. \m/
tenacious d - the metal
For me at least, this list wouldn't be complete without a The Smiths song on here, not the heaviest band, but they had some great guitar riffs.
What Difference does it make?
(Suggestion) Maybe not the best, but certainly one of the most awesome out there: Funky Monks
Stijn Lavooij word
TheJams4live put that on the list!
So glad I saw this! I thought everybody forgot that song :D
2:30 using a green guitar to play Green Day I see you...

I'm new here but totally loving the camera angles and backing tracks on this video
Isn't money from Pink Floyd a bass riff?
Leonardo Airoldi On that case Sledgehammer would count
Leonardo Airoldi It is. Should've instead done SOYCD or WYWH.
Leonardo Airoldi And it's definitely not one of the best riffs either
*insert name here* no it is but it is played on the guitar as well
Deniz Oktay Eh, I've listened to recording multiple times. I've yet to still hear the guitar playing the main riff. It does, however, play that little chorus(?) section.
Prófugos - Soda Stereo ... I know, I know.. it's spanish (Argentine), but God, that riff is awesome.
Loftur the whole song is awesome!

ESO PAPA!!
Carmelo de miel entre tus manos de Vírus Papá!!!... Saludos de Campeche México desde Chicago!!!..

Collective Soul is a band I don’t see enough on these lists but there riffs are fire. The riff in Gel I love.
How do you make each song sound so much like the actual songs? I'm a beginner so I don't know what settings to use on the amp to get each unique sound. Or is it a pedal? Please help. Thank you.
