FSSAI has actually increased the default limit for pesticide residues in spices to 0.1 mg/kg last month, a ten-fold increase over the previous 0.01 mg/kg.
This increase is for the cases where there is no specific maximum residue limit for the pesticide is not given by Indian regulation.

If ethylene oxide is from pesticides used on crops .even homemade masalas will have them. Firstly,ban or restrictions should be on chemicals and pesticides.Government should promote Natural Farming.

I agree. I'm a huge fan of organic farming. But does it have the capacity to replace current farming practices completely? Srilanka recently prohibited chemical based agriculture inorder to switch over to organic farming but soon it led to massive protests and a huge slide on economy. Given our massive population, I am afraid it's very difficult to balance both health-sustainability and food availability for all.
Plus, because we are moving faster into women empowerment, many of us are focusing on women employment and economic growth, sadly ignoring the traditional cooking methods. It is unfortunate that we have ended up equating women-in-kitchen to women degradation. Added to this is our preference for nuclear family system. Because we have no domestic support available from extended family members, we resort to either unhealthy options like food delivery or end up eating bread-jam and stuff. Oh, that doesn't mean we can suddenly decide and quit jobs because there's that damn home loan that has to be paid.
We have built such a messy system for ourselves, never preferred ecology over technology, related every unnecessary, undeserving technology with 'science', shied away from doing what is right because everyone else isn't doing what's right..

Very good topic chosen Mr. MG. One of my exporter client. Exported Dry chillies to Srilanka in 2022 after all required clearance from Indian government. Even though srilankan govt stopped the containers in their port itself. Stating that Chillies having more carcinogenic content. But within India we don't have such restrictions or food certificates for Raw Agriculture products like Dry chillies, onion, turmeric, tamarind... We can cultivate anywhere and sell it to anyone. There is no such regularisation for the consumers within India. How do we know, In our daily consumption how much carcino foods we are taking..

Please make a video about millets and how it will eradicate serious illnesses like diabetes,cancer for our future generations and how it also helps farmers(low maintenance crop), environment (reduce carbon print and improves soil fertility)and consumers (very much nutritious than rice and wheat). People are only consuming carbohydrates for every meal and lack intake if fibre ,protein,macro and micro nutrients which are abundant in millets.Very few people are aware of it.

Sakthi masala items are not available abroad..aachi has few items in Europe. But mdh and Everest are the only ones sold here.
Sakthi masala and Aachi masala is available in Singapore. Authorities should check on them too. Best to make your own masala in grinding mills.
