this is the pinnacle. this era. i was fortunate enough to discover dnb in 98 and this is one of the tracks that will forever stand as top of the pack for me, over 2 decades of loving the genre.
Nothing, and I mean nothing beats the 90s for club culture. From Gunchester & Liverpool, across to Leeds, down to Sheffield, Birmingham, Leicester, Bristol, Brixton, Brighton and Essex. Acid house, techno, hardcore, jungle, drum & bass, big beat and garage. The music, the drugs, the don't give a fuck attitude, the moves on the floor: all going absolutely fucking haywire till the very early hours. All gone now, in a shower of shit production, commercialisation, Bros-Hos and the onward march of the money God over everything and everyone. Two Mitsis mate, nice one, sorted, top buzz. Never again. History happened on our little island and most people don't even seem to know. If you like this track, then get your ears round this: soundcloud.com/deejayoptical/ed-rush-optical-radio-1
One of my fav bad company tunes, Such a wkd set starter, i used this many a time back in the day as start tune n oh yes it's one of them tunes that can just set a filthy dark rolling tone to the whole rest of the set!!! FKIN LOVE IT!!!
Really loved the djs playing this in a mix.You knew this tune was coming by the sounds, you knew the whole place would rock. The lasers, and lights went dark. You just knew this would kick some arse, then. It still does, now.
Bad Company: The only group worthy of being called rivals of Ed Rush and Optical, for the time period!!! Brings me back to the jungle room at raves. !!!!Big Up!!!!! Danger!!
there wouldn't be a bad company without all those before them. roni krust die and all at V records, prototype,, metalheadz, moving shadow crew , dj ss, doc scott , ram, dillinja , 4 hero, solid state, source direct, dom, technical itch, jonny L , deep blue, and the list goes on etc etc.etc. it was a very experimental and progressive scene especially in the mid 90s and the ideas that were pressed onto acetate were pure genius and bad company and virus had their own take on that after the heavy lifting already took place. there were many other fantastic sounds that were precursors to this. The pulse by BC was a special moment for me personally , and kudos for them for taking charge and producing gem after gem into the early 2000s
A lot of BC classics never got played out back in the day and wouldve loved to hear them on a big system. Mekon (Fresh N Vegas) China Cup, Skin tag to name a few
exactly, its done in the same session, obviously. can't blame them. i love this one even better as the nine. Imo along side a few others its their best tune. dry/minimal/straight to the point
This is NOT Bad Company the band that did "Shooting Star". This is four guys from the UK that produce Drum&Bass: Bad Company (drum and bass group) - Wikipedia : Bad_Company_(drum_and_bass_group) Bad Company, Bad Company UK or simply BC is the stage name of the English drum and bass record producers Jason Maldini (Maldini), Michael Wojcicki (Vegas), Dan Stein (DJ Fresh) and Darren White (dBridge).
Crispy snare, grimey bass, sick melody and great mixdown. Nothing compares to DnB from back in the days.
this is the pinnacle. this era. i was fortunate enough to discover dnb in 98 and this is one of the tracks that will forever stand as top of the pack for me, over 2 decades of loving the genre.
the nine does, it's the same drum pattern
You fucking knowsit
and that god damn crackle off the needles. Fuck yeah.
You just CAN'T TOUCH the old skool production tech step vibe
This track is just pure evil, criminally underrated imo
I think because it got overshadowed by The Pulse on the flip. China cup could easily have been an A side in it's own right its that good.
in my opinion one of the greatest drum and bass tracks of all time, pure evil. Gutted it doesn't get played more often.
People can have their regurgitated mainstream garbage, this is my music of choice till I die :-)
Indeed!!! Got hooked at 13, 38 now and won't let go!
This into the NINE is a match made in heaven

If people will not feel pure happiness and no fucks given about what life throws at them like drum n bass I don't know what will.
S i i i i i c k -this was the tune that got me into D n B way back in the day.
1999 the undisputed year of DnB

Just makes you head down nodding for 6 and a half mins. Golden era tune
Probably my favourite Bad Company tune. Sure, The Nine is great, Seizure, etc. But this one just slams, perfect set opener \0/

What a 12"! Both sides fire! Brings back bare memories. Better than most new DnB I hear. A lot better.

Danger!!
True true, but I'd say you've gotta throw Ram Trilogy in the ring too! :)

This sounds way different from their earlier stuff. Nothing like "Shooting Star" at all...
This is NOT Bad Company the band that did "Shooting Star".
This is four guys from the UK that produce Drum&Bass:
Bad Company (drum and bass group) -
Wikipedia

Very similar to The Nine. Same drum samples, same build-ups...
