Brilliant idea, I usually get groundies to tie my rope on the throw line for me to retrieve and traverse across but would like an easy effective way to do it without help and this looks like the way to go. Going from tree to tree is my favourite part of climbing specially in the high trees. That moment when you stop halfway to take in where you are and how your just hanging there just can’t be described 😆

your methods have really inspired me to expand my gear selection and try new methods for my tree climbing job. Why not have fun at work? Thankyou

i was thinking of ways to solo cross a river on a tyrolean and i thought of magnets and i am so glad to see people have tested it and it is possible . this could be so useful for rescue operations since they rely so much on natural anchors

I'm impressed by your skill sir. In fact Arborists are really skillful people. At the same time, I wish there was an additional camera from the ground or somewhere else to show a different view of you traversing. That would be interesting from a different perspective.
BTW, I'm just a layman on tree climbing, but could you or anyone explain how that hose or rope saver stayed at the branch even though you've pulled the rope towards you?
    Thanks for your time.

Wonderful display of technical climbing friend, It took me like 15 times to throw my Captain Hook like 15 ft away, this looks way easier, I guess eating chipotle don’t help much either.

I am just starting to learn tree climbing / rope ascending. Each one of my attempts is filled with as much tension and emotions as this music portrays. Of course it isn't that way for everyone but for someone with vertigo, learning solo, it certainly is.

Master the basics so you do them automatically. Then advance into this. Don't be stupid and get hurt from making a bad choice.

Nice work! I have been doing some experiments using electro magnets and battery packs, but so far nothing is matching the size and pull of rare earth. This is cool stuff, keep climbing and posting!

The music had me expecting paranormal activity

Matt Grippi to be fair it can look kinda paranormal to bystanders who don’t know much about tree work and climbing equipment lol, your right though, the music has been used a lot in paranormal videos.

Do you prefer this to the Captain's Hook? What about this versus the Grigri?

I have watch many of your videos (yeah i subscribed long ago) and i love how you move from tree to tree.
Im new to tree climbing, so this is very inspiring to me, but do you feel that a prusik is good enough for life support? Im a bit afraid of relying on friction only and use mechanic equiptment, what is your input?.

@@AerialTraveler I use a Grigri and a petzl acsender. I also have a 6 fot lanyard with a prusik for positioning i made my self. I once had to hang on that lanyard when i got my gear stucked when i was to transfer from one rope to another. I had tested the lanyard before on a safe height, but still, i dont feel 100% comfortable with prusiks.

I use prusiks on every climb. Never had a problem. They have been used for a very long time and will be used for a very long time to come.

    Good content.
I swear I saw someone do this with a miniature grappling hook somehow. If anyone knows what I’m talking about please respond

By the way, does a rare earth magnet connect with another rare earth magnet? (I do not know much about magnets.)
