  • @fordreasons

I think to justify the knee I might throw in the casual patter before I produce it of, "Hmm, is there a table anywhere? Here, I'll just use my leg." It plants the idea that you wanted to use a table, but your knee works too. Just my thoughts, hope it helps somebody!

When i saw this video i was blown away! The fact that the effect is so simple yet very creative amazes me. its kinda like a misdirection because when you see the trick, you're not thinking about a fold in the pants, you're thinking about something crazy like theres a hole in his pants or a secret flap that he opens or somehow he just palmed it. MIND BLOWN!!! This effect showed me that not all magic tricks have to be some sort of crazy complex set up that is very hard to perform, they can be perfectly simple and an easy trick. thanks for sharing the effect :)

loved the video. such a great effect Chris 💪🏻 I would use a pack of gum because whenever someone asks you "do you have some gum?" , you have to generally yank it out of your pocket somewhere. So, using this effect, with prior finger gestures that make it look like you're holding a pack of gum, would make the process of giving gum to a friend, or anyone really, insanely more interesting :)

I can't believe I could figure that out ;( (thought it took me a bit)... especially after you saying it's a magician fooler.. I'm proud of myself and well.. it's all thanks to you CHRIS RAMSAY and some other cool magicians (like Brian Brushwood, Jay Sankey, You, TheRussianGenius...) who got me where I am and gave me this much experience... You probably won't even read this comment but if you do, just know that I appreciate all that you've taught me/us
What you've taught me is more than sleight of hand, you taught me the principles.. the motivation... the right way to do things.. for the right reasons, thanks a lot!

Very clever Chris. This reminds me of a similar trick (sitting down) that uses the knee as a servante in the old Stars of Magic book. I particularly like that your idea brings the concept
into the more practical world of Stand-Up as opposed to Sit-Down "lapping".

I think a good justification for producing an object from your leg is if your standing doing magic and you don't have a table or surface around, you use your leg. And if it's a ring then you go into more ring magic

I discovered your channel about 4 days ago, and I rushed your videos... I have seen roughly half of them ! Really interesting stuffs, the way you talk about magic and your personality above all ! I had tried some magic when I was young but I didn't really got into it at first. And by watching several of your tutorials gave me the motivation to get back to it. I think it's the way you make it easy with accurate yet simple explanations. For the moment I already learnt 5 or 6 moves and still working on them several hours a day (cool thing that I'm in vacations) ! I also appreciate the way you try to communicate the importance of reading, and now that I really enjoy my very first steps into cardistry, I think I will buy some books to really get into it more deeply !
I want to thank you for what you do and for the motivation you give to people !

I think this is best as a lose comical appear that is still powerful and unexplainable. Maybe taking a prediction at the beginning of a trick and vanishing it, then just having another copy ready to go in the fake pocket. Or maybe at the beginning of a routine vanishing someone's card as a trick and then making a duplicate appear using this as a closer, that way you end on a light note that's still amazing and it gives the whole routine a sense of closure. As for why you use your knee I don't think you would need a reason as long as it's a stand up environm

I would produce the lighter because I can base off many magic tricks with the element of fire. Creating a routine about an element is a very strong effect on people, because they are so used to seeing fire. Thanks Chris for the awesome Vid. When i saw the demo i was stumped to be honest thanks again man keep up the good work.
