- This is the title track of the cult 1985 Scottish film 'Restless Natives', accompanied by stills taken in sequence from the film. Stuart Adamson wrote the soundtrack which was arranged and performed by Big Country. This original version of Restless Natives was played at the end of the film as the credits started to roll, whilst a longer version was used in the final chase sequence.
One of the greatest films to come out of Scotland in the 80s, one of Scotland’s greatest soundtracks, from one of Scotland’s best, makes me proud of my Scottish roots on dads side....
Stuart Adamson - that guy was loved by so many people. So was his music.
i am so in awe of stuart adamson he was brilliant, was a sad day when he left us i only wish i was there for one of his gigs such a talent
I love this movie takes me right back to the good days
I'm English and I love this film and Music! I think almost all English are proud to have Scotts as our friends and allies. Don't let the seperatists convince you otherwise, we love the Scotts!

We are greater together
55% of us Scots voted to remain part of the UK. This truly is a great Britain.

This is the only reason i continue to use youtube despite the irritating adverts!! Great film and memories, first band i ever watched live at the NEC, amazing band. Such a shame about Stuart, imagine if Big Country were around now doing the 80's amazing revival thing!!! I'd pay anything to go and see them doing the closing set at Rewind at Capesthorne Hall on a Sunday night :))))) defo book the Monday off
Is it just me or was Edinburgh a better place to live back in the eighties,
classic track
Thank you for remembering come back to me at last...
Awesome, thank you! I loved this movie!
RIP Bernard Hill.
It's just some music Big Country wrote for the Restless Natives film. It's available on the Restless Natives and Rarities CD, part of a 35 minute long track which covers all the music in the film.
Nearly
There's 5 people that have watched this and have no ears.
Damn Stuart could thrash that guitar... Rip big man.
Do You Believe in Ghosts ?
What a song this is. Yep cannot be beaten, dear readers. Trust me, I know stuff!!!
It’s not a terrible film by any means but (imo) the Big Country soundtrack was the real star.
Please check out the awesome 'Comfort and Joy'; a cinematic triumph which should be world renowned, and yet unbelievably is not.
I own it on DVD & quite agree, a piece of Bill Forsyth brilliance.
Local Hero is great, but gets all the credit. Love Bill Paterson too & great support from Patrick Malahide..
Sorry to jump in on your conversation guys but if you are interested I have been tracking down locations from these films and posting them on my youtube channel if you fancy a look?
Genuine question, why has this Scottish Classic Cinema been memory holed by you tubes and gangozon, don't have Netflix.
