- This time at the Quick Speed Shop its time to tune my 1980 Dodge W200 restoration project. It has a Dodge Magnum 5.9L and Holley 600 cfm carburetor. First I set the timing, then struggle with mid rpm rich issue. Then I run out of gas. Finally, it runs good enough to drive to the gas station where it immediately gets some compliments. Driveablity issues continue, but the truck is one step closer to running better.

Ha, thought at first a new fangled tailpipe!! Fill up at the Richfield station - lowest price around!! Nice comments on the Dodge! The truck won't be forgotten any time soon!
My supplier has been slow to fill the tanks at the Backyard Gas Station.
Love these ride along videos, Oh how I love the old manual trans trucks. Running out of gas brought back memories for me, 90 and 91 in high school my buddy had a 70 dodge 4spd and we would run out of gas all the time. Love the sound of your dodge Josh. Thanks for the ride along buddy.
Thanks Ray. Yeah, the NP435 in this thing has that real mechanical sound going through the gears. I rarely run out of gas so this was embarrassing!
Wow, that was quite an adventure to watch! Definitely sounds like a power valve issue. An acquaintance just replaced one on his 300 CFM Holley. He had similar issues with his engine running rich and having other intermittent issues. Anyway, great installment I always enjoy seeing the Dodge!
Just got new jets and pv in from Summit Racing so hope it runs better this week.

Many of the old school guys love their carburetors, but personally I think fuel injection was the best thing they came out with. But each to their own 🤣
I'm not against fuel injection. It's just too expensive for me to convert anything over to it.
