When I see new single from "Seven Spires" - I click immediately, without any second thought. But when I see Roy Khan's name - I click even before thinking at all.
A sign of a great band is when each album tops the last and even after only hearing 2 songs I can already tell, this is going to be the best album so far.
I needed it. I haven't listened to anything Kamelot related since he's depart from the band. No disrespect to Tommy, he's great and doing great things. But I grew up on Roy's voice, and in my personal opinion they've made Tommy into some Wish version of Roy and I don't like it.

I saw Adrienne cowan for the first time on youtube featuring Dimmu Borgir song and I got astonished by her voice. This song appeared on my Spotify release radar years after, and I am really happy I realized she was singing. Her death growl style comes directly from hell.
Ok this is one of the best things I've ever heard. Part 1 is simply one of the best power metal song I've heard, Roy Khan is perfect in this, feels like Kamelot at its very best. Sometimes with Seven Spires I don't like Adrienne's growls, but here it actually works very well. The middle of the song is incredibly atmospheric and you can feel the protagonist fighting against his inner demons. The end of the song is grandiose, Symphonic Metal ending that make this song feels like Nightwish and Epica long songs too (The Poet and the Pendulum, The Divine Conspiracy...). So much different emotions and atmospheres in this, amazing songwriting really. Feels like a perfect song for an album ending.
OMG GUYS!!! You have no idea how much I wanted to hear this song since I knew that Roy Khan would sing too, because the combination of the voice of Adrienne and Roy was simply magical, it was excellent! the gutturals were where they should be, the guitar, bass and drums provided exactly what those voices needed to achieve an epic song, and the lyrics ❤️❤️❤️...I just loved it!

Listening to this song again (for perhaps the 50th time), and I thought of another reason I wish there was a video: to see the sorcery that Chris Dovas is performing in this one.

@@landofsnowandsorrow unfortunately he cant. He sounds great as always but due to age he cannot reach the high notes anymore like he did back in the day without straining alot. Hence the, settled for a darker, deeper overall sound.
I love how Roy Khan shows up on this album, gets everybody sentimental and weepy, then the very next track on the album is an epic love letter to classic Kamelot bangers. Can't tell if it's a sly wink or a mic drop moment.

I love how the drum part between 03:35 and 03:48 is straight up ripped from Progenies of the great apocalypse by Dimmu Borgir xD. Really fits that part of the song!
There is everything. Serenity, Epica, Cradle of Filth, Nightwish...I am not sure I am happy about some of the touches/completely 1:1 melodies which they sneaked in to make everyone happy.
Omfg this song is one of the most epic pieces I've ever heard ! The crescendo that builds up until the apex at the end of part 4 just give me tears and shivers each time ! Hope to see you live in France one day. You definetely have fans in Europe ;)

I guess there's a spelling mistake & Roy Sætre Khantatat is still just Roy Khan, not Roy Kahn. Regardless the song is great & Adrienne and Roy sound great individually & together.
Just a note to say yes the vocals yes. But the Percussion, Tho! Normally you hear a metal bass doing the 32nd notes driver, but this time its the drummer beating quadruple time and going nuts on the skins like it's no thing. The bass is backgrounded behind the drums, unusual but refreshing, allows the symphonics elements to take the lead.
It’s soooooo good to hear Roy’s voice again🙏🏻 hearing him makes me realize how much I miss him as a singer (in a metalband). I’m aware of his band conception but I don’t like that style of music. His voice is just perfect for a (power)metal band, hope he will return in the metalscene one day…..
