I am the lucky owner of one of these beautiful bikes, hand made and put together in Italy with Italian components. She rides as fine as much as she is beautiful.
Very nice Colnago build up! So glad you used natural coloured aluminium parts for as far as possible, it's in the spirit of the Arabesque! I wonder if the Arabesque frame is still available new from the shelve today?
Thanks for watching. Yes this is a new arabesque. The latest version seen here has a thread less steerer instead if threaded. I love the fact that they still make frames like this as well as all of the modern bikes.
@@veloatelier6122 Thank you for your reply! I guess I better start saving for a frame like this ;) The Arabesque gave me goosebumps in the eighties, and it still does today.
Looks like a next Mexico Oro for the Pope himself. Congrats btw. for the best of modern classic. Nitto stem and seatpost are a brave but very tastefully matching choice! Tange lugged stem would have added even a bit more spice... but probably might have "stolen the show" from the frame... and the bike is absolutely usable, by no means a garage queen. Chapeau!
Belleza única todo un sueño... aunque la posición del manillar no es la correcta y la cinta. Lado izquierdo en contra y derecho a favor, de las manecillas del reloj.
I'm considering doing an arabesque build simular to this with sram Force Etap 1x groupset. Did you have any problems fitting the 12 speed cassette? Did it fit immediately or did you have to cold set the frame?
The client wanted Silver as a nod to the classic origins of the frame. The stem was actually anodised black when we bought it as Nitto didnt have any silver, so we had it stripped and silver anodised.
@@scotiavelo1405 Yeah the 12spd fit on the standard Campag cassette body with no problems. The spacing of the frame is standard 130mm road so it fits perfectly.
I just feel these sorts of bikes look wrong with modern stems and spacers! They would look so much better with a quill stem like the Battaglin Marosticana... but the straight bladed forks of the Colnagos look best.. if only there was a a way to combine these two design themes.... 🤔🤫
Beautiful frame, but the problem is the steerer size - there are very few good 1" stems (hence Nitto, ahem!) and the geometry of this frame was designed for a higher quill stem. I don't know why Colnago don't either move to 11/8" or stick to a quill...
Yes its frustrating. When we ordered this frame it was marketed as having a threaded steerer. Imagine my surprise when it arrived treadless. I did toy with threading it but they told me it would invalidate their warrenty.
@@veloatelier6122 Ha ha, I bet they did! Yeah, don't know why Colnago don't either make their own 1" (but the geo is still wrong) or keep them threaded - then you could use a few options - Japanese keirin stems v good (but not very Italian!). Best.
I don't like the bar and stem cockpit. The 1 1/8" stuff is okay with modern bikes but a beauty likes this needs the Period parts. A Quill stem is called for.
Purely due to availability of a 1” steerer and 31.8mm stem. We couldn’t even get a silver one so we had to take a black one and strip and reanodise it Silver to match the aesthetic.
Not a good excuse. If you're going to build up a high quality Italian frame, an Arabesque no less, and you're going to show it off, you should probably go all in. A Nitto stem( I do love Nitto btw) especially one with such modern angles (cnc) just does not "match the aesthetic" at all. It's not even that I'm a purist - it just doesn't match, period. Why not a Cinelli A1 quill stem? why use 31.8 bars? Why a threadless steerer? plenty of threaded Colnago Precisa forks available, I've got three in my studio right now..... Don't mean to come down on you, just a vintage bike lover, Colnago especially. You've got one of the nicest steel bike frames ever made - revere it! No compromise!!! @@veloatelier6122
Hi Jim. In the industry we normally refer to pre built bikes that come out of a box as needing assembly. When a bike is created out of parts from scratch we would normally refer to this as a build. For instance I built these wheels rather than assembled them. I also design and fabricate frames under the Meteor Works brand, so I would definately say those bikes are built by me. I hope that makes sense but if you have any other questions please dont hesitate to ask. Stay safe Lee
God bless you Lee for having equipped that beautyful italian Lady with Campagnolo components and not Shimano...👍👍👍
I'm very happy because that people still like retro road bicycle better than modern electron machine

Rim brakes for the win!
So, I was going back and forth between Cinelli Supercorsa and Colnago Arabesque and I think your video has tipped me over to Colnago! Thank you!!!
Colnago + Campagnolo very nice 🔝🔝🔝👏👏👏👍
penultimate builder you are working out as grandmaster sensi
Hmm ~ yummy...! A pearl white Colnago with black Campy components :)

Wonderful bike.
What is the weight?
very nice same colour as mine
Beautiful build 👌🏼🙌🏼
Colnago must have bought Hetchins tooling for its 1964 Magnum Opus.
Diablos se podrá Aser ese cambio de estándar a over en cualquier bici
Beautiful build. I am sad however that modern components are no longer polished aluminum. Black coated just looks ugh to me.
Lovelyyyyyy. Sorry, is there a specific model to find that rim? Thanks
ENVE SES 2.2
Is this nice bike for riding or only for presentation purpose reason ?
I’m glad to say this bike gets ridden hard on a daily basis.
Wow So Good
Thanks 😋
4:24 Rewrap 🤔🐛😉
Except the Nitto Stuff this bike is tasty as hell
a unique jewel .. modern ones are very ugly .. this is a real bike 🚴🚴
Beautiful bike! Though cassette, seatpost, stem and handlebar don't match they should be white, black or chrome.
lovely .. what else can i say ..
What are the wheels ? Look great :)
Hi Mike
They are Royce racing hubs laced onto ENVE 2.4 Rims. There is a video showing them being built on the channel.
Wait, what? Arabesque comes with threadless fork as well?
depends on what year and version. They have done both.

how much did it weigh?
I guess 8.5 kg?
So melodramatic.
Beautiful but, I am not crazy about the black accents and rims, rest perfect!
What is the size of the headtube sir?
its a 1 1/8" treadless.
You better used black Deda stem , dropbar and seatpost and black bottlecage
Black stem indeed.

top top top linda fico até a próxima like ta ai
Very nice looking build! What grease gun are you using?
I use the finish line guns along with Crystal grease which is clear so you can see as soon as any contamination gets into it.
What tool did you use to fit the threadless headset may i know?
Hi Nikko. We use a Cyclus headset press here in the Service centre.
Hi nice build. Can I ask does the new Campag 12 speed fit on a 10 or 11speed wheel and are there any issues as it’s an older steel frame ? Thanks
@@scotiavelo1405 Yeah the 12spd fit on the standard Campag cassette body with no problems. The spacing of the frame is standard 130mm road so it fits perfectly.

Until you ride an old quill and bar and realise how shit they are...I guess I like function more than form
you can still order it in a threaded fork and I did, quill stem is the a must
I was going to make the same comment, that stem is an eyesore on such a beauty. Needed polished alloy groupset too.

is colnago arabesque better or wilier triestina superleggera?
Both good frames although I would say the Colnago just wins out.

Lovely frame. Fugly groupset. Campagnolo has lost the plot these days.

Las bicicletas de ante eran obras de arte ,hoy en dia los materiales son feos y caros.
Nitto parts on an Italian Stallion? Shame.
No, no, no. What is the point of sticking a threadless headset and black groupset on a classic frame like this?
Well you can, if you also put a carbon seat post and a carbon handelbar that matches the wheels, classic frame and modern component style.
more accurately, bike assemble.
