I srsly laughed out loud at least 20 times in this video. Brava to Michael for being a great guest and Alison for "teaching" so well. Can't wait to make this!
Ah man, so many great “That’s what she said” moments in this video. “We can get a little more vigorous, not necessarily hard, but faster.” “We’re gettin thick” “I can feel it.” “Ok harder.” “Faster faster!” “It happened really fast.”
The confusion on Michael’s face when he is handed a banana and does not know to use it as a phone had me in tears. “I’ve never seen you like this,” -my boyfriend, full Alison Roman kitchen energy “it’s just so relatable-“ -I wheeze
such a fun episode, look forward to these every week and why do I see so much of myself in Alison? Like I would be micro managing just as hard. Michael you did amazing sweetie! ❤
Micheal's face and the corresponding sound effect about having to separate the egg yolks was giving " *GAAAASSSPPP* he forgot the wontons!" energy and honestly I am here for Home Movies Chopped Era.
I made this today!! Never in my life have I made pastry cream! I had to push it through a mesh strainer as I got some eggy bits! I guess my egg separating wasn’t the best! Tastes amazing and can’t wait to cut it tonight xx
A couple years ago you posted on IG a photo of you serving roast lamb and onions on heirloom tomatoes. Please record that as a video - would love to learn that recipe!
I cannot stop LMAO 😂😂😂 Fun times are finally back in the kitchen! And that banana cream tart in the pilot episode of ‘’You! can DIY’’ ❤ Follow you Allison from day 1! Success!
Watching this first thing in the morning in the UK this is laugh out loud good. Why on earth you would teach someone to bake using cups I don’t know. First rule of food tech classes in England - get a decent scale. Michael was brilliant but you didn’t show how to release from the tin which is every baker’s nightmare. Brill episode though! Alison pls come to London on a book tour!
Please people! Listen to Alison! Read the recipe all the way through before starting… it will save your life in combat one day! Jk, but it very well could save your back end when it comes to special ingredients or techniques! Even though I am an experienced baker, it has happened to me! Save yourself from heartbreak… just read the damn recipe, lol!
Question: First time making any tart. What diameter is a standard tart pan? I felt like I didn’t have enough dough to fill. Or maybe I need to thin out a lot more next time. Thanks! Great video.
This was so adorable in a quasi-stressful way. I have taught friends how to cook things, and sometimes it can feel a touch like...having a glass of tequila off camera :D
Awe, you can tell Alison felt a bit bad about re-propping the Cherry. This friendship is truly adorable. I hope to see a reaction video from Michael’s partner.
David saying 'it's almost like we'll never make this crust' is SO funny to me because this episode is over half an hour, I can't actually imagine how long it took in real time but I'm living for it
just here to say that i LOVE home movies, i LOVE alison, i LOVE this episode, i am counting down the days until my copy of sweet enough arrives, that is all. alison thank you.
When I was in culinary school, a professional baker taught us how to scoop and level flour into a meauring cup. The idea was that the flour was fluffed and not compacted. The method was to scoop the flour and then stick a butter knife in the measuring cup vertically and move it all around to decompact the flour and then to level it with the flat edge of the knife. This decompacted method is probably where the 120 grams number comes from.
@22.20 🙏 thank you for addressing the madness of a cup vs weight measurement - I still earnestly dont understand why i never get a consistent measurement so I go with 125g as my cup.
This was such a treat to watch ❤️ I could definitely relate to Alison throughout the video but definitely commend her on her patience! We often forget that basic things like measuring/leveling flour may not be as straightforward as we think to others who aren’t familiar with baking/cooking. But both Alison and Michael have such a great chemistry and hope we can see more of these videos !
Lol, I can definitely relate to Allison’s “I want to teach you, I want to let you do it, but wait, let me fix this” energy!!! Michael handled this much better than my kids did, but then again, they were just kids at the time, lol! If grandkids ever come my way, I’ll do better with them! [Assuming my kids let me, lol! 🤦♀️🤷🏻♀️🤣]
Today’s the last day to order merch!! Have you ordered yours yet?
Pls bring back the shallot pasta shiiirt

This manic controlling Virgo energy makes for great television and I’m here for it
It was wild to see
David is a virgo, too
@@alisoneroman damn. Is that why I'm an asshole?
I am Virgo rising and love cooking and baking
I’m exactly the same in the kitchen when I’m instructing, sorry, tEacHinG.
it’s hilarious 😂

I think KA’s measuring technique in spoon and sweep instead of scoop and sweep. Huge difference.

Oh yeah we should do that
It’s in Nothing Fancy!
@@alisoneroman thank you!
Love that idea for a video

I laughed myself to tears with this one. What a true treat.
it's our life every day!!!
SHE loves to teach how to wing it, which is why I love her!!! That is how I cook!!!
I identify with Allison in this one as a fellow Virgo queen
Michael was a true delight!
Love all your collab videos with friends and fam - it’s these unrehearsed scenes that make your recipes seem less intimidating and fun to attempt
I cannot stop LMAO 😂😂😂 Fun times are finally back in the kitchen! And that banana cream tart in the pilot episode of ‘’You! can DIY’’ ❤ Follow you Allison from day 1! Success!
I'm laughing so hard. You have the coolest friends. Love the recipe. Hope he comes back to cook again with you soon.
You do a great job teaching. Keep the energy and support going 😮
I'm obsessed with cool tones on you! That outfit slaps! Also I need to buy your new cookbook!
We need “What the Frick!?” merchandise! 😂😂😂
This is my favorite video! Please continue to invite them to cook with you

I so enjoyed this video! Also, can't wait for the cookbook!

I love how I am in bed watching this but also feeling dominated by Alison
hahahhhahahahah
This is the most I've ever laughed watching a cooking video
Not remotely a real house wife but I’ll happily come on the show! 😂

I was stressed out the entire time 😂
Sooo fun!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤
This was so fun to watch hahah
the virgo slag is back baby yeah
My Virgo-ness and “love” of teaching in my kitchen feels SEEN.
"Everyone knows what tempering means...
What does tempering mean to you?"
'Nothing.'
"OK. Alright then."

This is too much for my anxiety; but it looks delicious. 😂 (FYI…the raspberry parfait was perfection!)
Good
Boop! I love it!!!

I so enjoyed that guest on the show. Hilarious but also informative
Yay!!!

I'm literally cackling

the first eyeroll Michael did was so gay and i love it
This was such a Virgo video. I feel seen
Seeing the inside of the new book 🥵🥵🥵
this was fucking hilarious. thank you.
1 cup of flour is most definitely 120g - not 145g
Idk what to tell you lol
I’ve never felt more seen as a Virgo

Actual footage of a virgo trying not to move a cherry.
OK. That was painful.
I need a confirmation on Michaels zodiac sign

Michael cruising over with not a full 1/2 cup of sugar was honestly shocking.
I’m like filling a tart pan. Whatever is left over becomes my bottom! 😂
Shocked him too when caught lol
The amount of times I laughed out loud in this video made me realize how much I missed home movie Tuesdays 😂
“Not being white.” I laughed pretty hard at that…cause it’s true.
So many of us white people were thinking “why can’t my skin look that good?l”
Alison I’m sure he’s a gem of a human, but I was feeling your pain with the measuring cups 💀💀
Unforgivable

Alison’s reading montage 💀 😂
Someone needs to cast these two in the roles of Moira and David Rose in the long awaited remake of the classic « Fold in the Cheese » short movie.
Allison, you are the quintessential Virgo…..love it! Funny when needed and a patient teacher. Thanks for a wonderful video.
Loving the editing. Such a fun and engaging episode!
Michael is a star. He says so much with his eyes and smirks. Bring him back!
more of michael please 😍
tell me about it
Alison, "your bottom layer should be full of banana." Simple enough statement, and then up in the top right "because we have fun." 😭
