@@louisthomas367 is there a way to use that thing without drooling all over yourself? I may just be slobbering on it like a dog with a bone but I always have to use mine over a sink 😂😂
I was taught to use a stack of quarters with a small, 0.3 mm straw, like one from a child's juice box. The stronger you become, the more quarters you stack up in front of yourself. My record (for now is 6). I have set a long term goal of moving 12-13 quarters in a stack.
I was at a masterclasses with Luca Benucci. He had 2 trainers from thomman . After he worked with me he saw I had ( we all have ,most of us ) breathing Problems. I wasn't breathing. And I blew in that tool, and the sound after that was so gorgeous. I am looking forward buying 2 trainers. It's ~ 12 euro I think. My favorite is that red . And blue is also good!
After blowing into one of the builders have some kinda mass under the skin of my neck. It's just water and blood as I saw in the syringe but does anyone else has or had this kinda problem? Probably cuz have no opportunity to play the trumpet every day that's why sometimes blow that thing instead of playing the real instrument
That may happen. Just make sure to pace yourself and not over do it. I’m not sure how you are using it but maybe do less intense work with it and do it progressively through your practice that may help build the skills. You get dizzy when you intake more oxygen than you are used to, and through using this device you are probably doing just that. So, no worries just take it easy.
RealWorld Training I tried the ultrabreathe and it didn’t do much for me, other than cause a lot of slobbering. I’ll have to check out the other two, never heard of them before.
I try to intermingle breathing with my warm ups, so maybe I would start my warm up with a 2 min. breathing exercise then go into long tones, then do another breathing thing before going into lip slurs. Just a little here and there. I also like to put it in the middle of a practice session, say I am playing for a hour I might practice for like 25 min, stand up and get a drink or something, come back and do a little breathing, then back into the practice. I find that when I just do a ton of breathing at one point, though it is better than doing nothing, I tend to forget about the good habits I am trying to build. However, if I make it something I regularly do throughout my day on the instrument I keep it on my mind. Hope this helps!
What are your favorite breathing tools that you've used?
Breath Builder , Breath Builder , Breath Builder :)
Hi
I really like the breath builder
The Ultrabreath

My favorite device is the breath builder because the first time I practiced one it, I started noticing breathing improvements really soon.
My favourite is just a simple paper. You press the paper on the wall then you let go off it and blow to keep the paper from falling down
I keep trying that exercise but i find it hard to measure progress or see improvements

I wish that you would have demonstrated the exercises for us

When I use a breath builder, I get really dizzy after a few inhales. I am a beginner bassoon player. What should I do?

Would size of the breathing bag do you recommend to a trombonist?
6 liter is a good size, even if it is too large it first you can work to start filling it up!
Search for a device called ultrabreathe or expand-a-lung or bas Rutten o2 trainer.
