NOTE: Some people have reported that ONLY the inventory items adjust financial statements retroactively…. So make sure to double check after doing it, as Service and Non-Inventory Items will import with changes, but might not go back and rewrite financial reports. Also for some, there seems to be a bug that only exports data in the future, I have reported this to Intuit...
Wow! I can't thank you enough for this. I was so afraid to try it in my clients books, and Craigs is limited. So thrilled this will work. Again, You are super amazing sharing your knowledge and making QB more usable for all of us ProAdvisors! 🤗 thank you, thank you!
Thank you for posting this video! Unfortunately, QBO is so clumsy this method fails to "Also update [] account in historical transactions" and it also fails to update the Taxable status. It tried numerous times to update all items to Nontaxable, both by including "No" in this column and by leaving it blank. It appears on the import screen as if it will work, but when you go to an individual item after import it has not changed status.
Hi Mr Garcia, When I updated and imported my client's products/services, any items which were previously listed under a category were duplicated. With over 800 items, this was a pain to go in and delete duplicates. Have you run into this issue? I see that your example company has categories, did this happen to you?
Do you have a tutorial on pricing tiers? We have 3 sets of customers buying the same inventory but at different pricing tiers. B2B2C, B2B and B2C. Three types of customers buying same product at different pricing. How do I setup pricing tiers by customer segment?
when checking product/services there is a line item for hours. I go to edit it and when I select save it tells me an error Deferred Revenue account can't be null. I don't see a prompt for that account. Where should it go?
Hi Hector, Thank you for continue to make such helpful videos. I learn so much from you. Question I have today, is there a way to do a Batch update to Products and Services Sales Price "with out" the import process? For Example I want to increase all my Sales prices by 1% and a unique few by 2%. Can I do this within the QBO system? (FYI- I have about 30K product and services in the system). Every year my team has to do an annual project of creating multiple spread sheets with new updated prices and then import them into QBO so that our Sales Prices are correct. Please LMK. Thanks.
I did this but it did not change my historical data. I was doing it individually and that was working fine, but was tedious. I followed this to save time, but it didn't work to change anything historical and now I'm not sure what to do to change it since everything is technically mapped to the right place now.
QBO is very unpredictable, which is why I always demonstrate the process in my video including the results. Did you get an error? If you have a closing date password, its probable that stopped it. You can map it to the wrong account again in batch and try again either with the correct one.
@@HectorGarciaCPA No error. They are all service items, I have no closing date password, and it said all items were imported. Looking on Google shows I am not the only one though. I guess I will have to map to the wrong account in batch and then do them all individually :(
Interesting… maybe, only inventory items update retroactively via excel import maybe? I am going to have to do a deeper investigation on this, do you have inventory items as wellv
Hi Mr. Hector How are you doing I need your help to fix an issue that Im facing in QBO I have more than thousands of transactions that assign to bank account and I want to change it paid by petty cash account I tried to use reclassify transactions tools, but it didn’t work How I can make bulk edit for that issue
Have you tried to import over 200 products at the same time? Even if Quicbooks says the limit of rows is 1000, it doesn't allow me to update over 200 items. I have 3000+ products and it's a pain to divide them all in 200 batches...

I have. The import tool is horrible when there are categories
Is it possible to build assemblies in QBO?
No
@@HectorGarciaCPA Okay noted, i hope it is something they are considering in the horizon or are they noncommittal?

There is a setting called Price Rules. Its not quite pricing tiers vying segment, but helps to have the multiple prices available in the sales forms

Create another product/service. That one you are trying to use is tied to the revenue recognition feature

No… must use the import process

@@HectorGarciaCPA We don't have inventory
@@danaewhitteker9710 Did you ever Figure this out? I'm having the same problem.
Hi Mr. Hector
How are you doing
I need your help to fix an issue that Im facing in QBO
I have more than thousands of transactions that assign to bank account and I want to change it paid by petty cash account
I tried to use reclassify transactions tools, but it didn’t work
How I can make bulk edit for that issue
You need a 3rd party app like G-Accon or RightTool

It gives errors. Sometimes i have had to limit to 100 at the time, is horrible
