Intense, it was more intense when I went to get a donut in my staff room and there’s two left and four people
Yeah that was really super intense. The announcers are idiots also. He said we’ve got action at every base. How do you figure? There was only a play at the plate. Women’s softball should be ended. No one is interested, and besides, baseball is a man’s game plain and simple.
Nothing is as intense as the need for donuts
This isn't intense. This is the game in action.
I make the donut holes!
@@njdxnjdx who said it couldn't be shared with women? I mean yeah softball isn't as popular but it is starting to get more and more popular with the series going on.
everyone is still waiting for the intense part. is it in another clip?
It’s amazing how many softball highlights I’ve seen of running into the catcher and completely go flying or flopping.
idiot
I was waiting for the intensity......
Completely agree. Catcher was attempting to move to catch the throw and as such was not in possession when she contacted the runner. Easy obstruction call on the play.
James Chapman thing that gets me tho when ur a runner and u see catcher is on inside middle of the plate u don’t go down the middle u go to the outside no matter if the balls there or not because u never know what’s happening
James Chapman it’s the right call tho
Yep! It sure was tha right call. I agree 100%
Do they still allow premeditated runner-catcher collisions at home plate in women's softball?
Rules seem to say that that score goes to the runner because the catcher was obviously blocking the plate well before possession of the ball.
I would like to request my minute and sixteen seconds of my life back please. It was as intense as walking to the kitchen.
Intense? What?
Ever did it in the dark & stepped on a Lego?
@@tonystark3199 you got me there Tony, I have four kids so you know I stepped in some legos
@@1bls lol I feel your pain.I don't know what feels worse a Lego or hitting your shin on a ball mount that's on the back of a truck.
@@tonystark3199 tow hitch, easy
No ball ... the catcher is guilty of obstruction.
maybe the title was supposed to say "in tents" because the catcher was "camped out" in front of home plate... just sayin'...
That was far from camped out! Barely obstruction. That rule definitely needs some tweaking. The advantage is definitely for the runner. Catch did touch her without the ball but she gave her a lot of plate.
@@astropastel maybe. 1:07 seems to indicate otherwise. as for the rule, it is a safety issue for both players; just ask ray fosse. i believe there are effective places the catcher can be waiting to receive the throw other than directly in the runner's path. of course, i could be wrong...
The end of that video shows a lot of plate. The obstruction rule makes it to easy for the runner not to slide or take one side of the base or the other to avoid the catcher. Looks like the runner took the freebie as would I...but it's A rule that still needs tweaking. I'm all for preventing collisions but you got give the catcher a fighting chance.
nicely done
Catcher is hot though.
intensity?
By rule , good call
She clearly blocked the plate without the ball. The runner arrived before the catcher was making a play on the ball.
What intensity?
just another CLICK BAIT-WEAK!
runner broke a nail
@@clerpington_the_fifth Bet she'll never get another date again
I get the obstruction.
But why didn't the runner slide? A lot less chance of an injury if the runner slides.
Poor base running skills
The catcher stood over the plate and totally covered it before the ball was even caught, at 1:04 you can see her standing over the home plate. When the ball was hit she walked forward over the plate, if she'd stayed back behind the plate she would not have been turning to go up along the path of the runner when the ball was thrown toward her and wide of the mark. At 1:01 the ball is popped up, and the catcher stands upright, she looks down and takes two or three steps forward to stand over the plate. At 1:10 the catcher is over the plate and doesn't move until the runner is almost on the plate. On a rewind, between 0:10 and 0:12 the catcher takes 3 steps forward to stand over the plate. That makes it clear she moved up to obstruct the plate before the ball is thrown to her.
She started moving to where the ball was coming
Intensity? What intensity?
Is the runner extremely small or is the catcher some kind of Amazon? I am not questioning the call, just worried about the runner. She took a pretty mean hit there.
She didn’t take any hit she ran into the catcher and flopped like a spastic
@@codyh4613 So much for being objective
She tripped over the catchers leg. It's not like the catcher trucked her
@@damstr1105 She may have tripped over her leg a split second later but the catcher's left shoulder made contact first
@@dttruman made contact, as in they touched. The catcher didn't shoulder tackle her or anything. It's the runner's momentum that made it look worse than it is.
I'd like to see the tag up. Because she seemed to get to the plate awfully fast.
I don't think there was a tag at third.
I like how you block the video with adds
I am so confused on fielder’s obstruction of runner’s path, vs rules regarding trucking over catcher/fielders standing just over the plate/base.
Who knows the actual MLB rules reference? How about the equivalent in softball rules?
*Intensity intensifies*
Nice little shoulder bump.
Good call, coach had very little push back. Plate umpire immediately comes up with the O call - arm out to the side so everyone can see.
What call. There was no play on the runner. Catcher never had possession of the ball. You realize that matters, right?
I hate click baits!
I wish some people would know what to title there video
Of course, they should proofread it, too.
So intense
People you do not run in to the players or get in front of them when you do not have the softball
That catcher was standing on homeplate like an idiot your supposed to stand on the side if the base to swipe and tag the runner out.
Would like to see it from a different angle. Loomed like the catcher started in the direction of the ball. Not interference if she was attempting to catch the ball
Yes, it is.
Obstruction rule in softball is open to too much interpretation. Thus the none consistency from umpires. I like this call though.
Clean play. Runner should've taken the catcher out for blocking the plate.
Not obstruction... catcher not blocking access to the plate
So i guess the catcher was not supposed to try and catch the ball but just let it go so the runner can score.
Under the current rule since 2018 it’s clear obstruction
Intense? No way. It's just the game being played. Plays at the plate are routine.
Intense was me clicking on this video,
This is Michigan softball all the way.
The catcher didn't seemed to hit runner on purpose. But, catcher can't blocker runner at the plate without the ball.
DUH!!!
shouldnt that have also been an infield fly rule since the ball landed on the infield dirt?
Seems like it, but is that even a rule in softball?
Clerp, I don't think that play would meet the criteria of ordinary effort. That ball looked like it would drop the whole time. A competent umpire is not going to call IFR there.
IFR only applies to the batter being called out. The runners can advance at their own risk after tagging up.
Don't see anything wrong with the play. Catcher gets in the way runner trying to run, umpire makes correct call. Exactly the way it's played and called
We love girls softball, but unfortunately, it is like all other sports turning into bad-ego, from a good passion for something.
Michigan chokes in softball this year to JMU
this is not dirty, but definitely obstruction. by not moving in front of the plate, the catcher handcuffed herself and inadvertently collided with the runner. tough for the runner, but the catcher did not do that on purpose. just poor positioning on the catcher's part
Bullshit, she leaned into the runner...
@@49erssuck15 She was trying to lean to catch the throw which was passing on he catchers left as the contact happened. Obstruction yes, dirty play absolutely not.
@@formercoach1202 You are a liar, it is CLEAR that the ball didn't show up until AFTER the contact happened.
There should been no obstruction call because the catcher was making an attempt to catch the throw from 2nd base. If anything the runner is out for not sliding
Why does this video exist?
Even though I am a FSU fan this was a bad call. There was no interference she was trying to block the plate. What did you want her to do?
The rules clearly indicate that the catcher must have the ball to block the plate while making the tag. Blocking without the ball is "obstruction". As simple as that. Correct call by the umpire.
Dead WRONG Peter. Cannot block the plate without the ball. PERIOD.
Amazing how people who do not know the rules can just say "bad call". The correct call was made smh.
If you can tag up on a can of corn in the infield, this is not a sport, but a hobby.
No question. Obstructing
click bait..... NOTHING HERE
Where the intense part ?
I'm sorry. Did I miss the intense part?
I replayed over and over still can't find it
Catcher should have came up inside the line and apply a sweep tag like a 1st Baseman would have. Those were 12yr old boy skills.
There’s no crying in baseball!
That catcher was an idiot in that moment. I'm glad she got warned for interference.
Obstruction.
Thank you!
Sometimes you feeling a nut!
It’s funny how life works. Sierra from Michigan and Alex use to hate each other on the field. Now there dating in real life.
Clicking the mouse to start the clip was the intense part.
Freeze at 1:12. Wtf was the girl trying to do when she was coming home? If she slides feet first right side, shes in. Head first right side, shes in. Why in the hell is she going in standing up and right leg first. She has no where for her left leg to go. Why not at least run the catcher head on vs hurting yourself and going knee on knee? Where wss the on deck batter to tell her what to do? Why isn’t this a simple score. Go 1/3 of the way home, if the ball is caught, just go back to third. If dropped, its an easy score. How in gods name is this even a close play where the runner winds up getting in a situation to hurt herself?
blonde moments compilation
Obstruction is not a "warning". It is a judgement call that the umpire makes every time it occurs. It's not a warning as the announcer says it is.
Moron, In ladies softball a call is made AND there is a warning, because if it happens again to the same player that player will be ejected!
Yes
YAWN. did I miss something?
Number 2 is a tough son of a gun.
Seminoles are National Champions
Ouch!! ❤❤
bs. Totally ok for the runner to come in hard standing up, but not of for the catcher to stand her ground? BS.
Kyle West She standing up because there is no play at the plate, only reason catcher didn't get tossed was because she didn't lower her shoulder. Now personally I'm with you the runner should have slid and knocked the catcher down by taking her feet out from under her but either way works on this play
kyle she had no right to block the plate to runner slide or aviod interfrence the runner didnt need to slide secondly if she move three feet either way she could of been called out for being out of base line
There was clearly a play at the plate. You cant just give up your position and let the runner score if there is any chance you have a play. You must not understand the position the catcher is in on these plays. BTW she wasnt "blocking the plate." She was going after the ball and wasnt looking at the runner. The runner should have been sliding.
there was no play at the plate end of story
Do you even want to TRY referencing a rule before spouting that tripe? If the catcher was in possession of the ball, then she could block the plate, and the runner would have to slide or in some other way avoid contact with the catcher. In this case, though, the catcher was NOT in possession of the ball, and was blocking the plate. In that circumstance, the runner had no obligation to slide, as she should have had a free patch TO the plate - which was denied her by the obstruction of the catcher. The umpire at the plate got this exactly right. Look again. That catcher WAS blocking the plate before the ball was even en route, and the throw was so far off that she chose to impede the runner rather than make a serious attempt at the throw.
Lol.. she is the Tonya Harding of softball.
Good play correct call good job Blue
Catcher was confused. Was expecting a pot with her potholder, and was thrown a softball instead.
That was not obstruction, the ball was in the air and the catcher was moving on the ball.
😂😂😂😂😂😂WOW!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂MY OH MY!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂HEE HEEEE!
CLICKBAIT
Called SOFTball for a reason.
There's no crying in baseball. Somebody go get tom hanks
UA-cam Lover I'm surprised you said dick so much since you hate it. Lol

nikes be lit and holographic really? Their playing softball* not baseball? No fucking way. Lol, I guess you've never seen that movie or the joke just went over your head.
I have seen the fucking movie I was saying it's softball
Getting stuck in traffic and having to poop is intense! This not so much.
Getting stuck in none-moving traffic, engine off, having to poop, watching this video to distract one-self... now THAT would be intense. 😅
There was no obstruction. The catcher is trying to field the ball. Her eye is supposed to be on the ball, not the runner. This is nonsense. What is an infielder supposed to do when a ball is hit it to her, watch the base runner and let the ball pass by????
wrong
WRONG! Obstruction all the way. Your reference to an infielder and a batted ball is in no way the same as this situation.
The umpire got it wrong. The infielder has priority over the baserunner to field the ball. If the infielder obstructs the runner and not playing the ball then that would be obstruction on the fielder. The umpire saw the baserunner go down and came to the wrong conclusion.
sisophous seriously? Two dirty elbows in a row.
sisophous wrong the ball wasn't no where near the catcher when she made the move to run into the runner. It was a OBVIOUSLY AND OBSTRUCTION
An outfielder catching a infield pop up. Weak.
HEY U OF M Fan, its not tough, its the rule!
Runner could have easily slid between the catcher's legs. But she tried to plow the catcher over and got the worst of it.
So what, smart play by the runner.
@@markw3598 smart enough to get tossed from the game and possibly injure herself and be out for the season. Yeah, that's real bright
I have taken more shits that were alot more tense than that.
At 0:51, most useless brush ever. Plate still just as dirty as before he brushed it off.
Look where the ball was coming into home, the catcher was moving toward the ball no foul I would've been on the umpire right after they call blocking the plate
Then you would be wrong.
in my day of sports that can be called 2 different ways.. The way it was and than the other way is the runner interfered with the fielding trying to field the ball! u can see the catcher was starting to go to her left to field the ball right before the runner hit her
NEVER- You never had the right to catch a thrown ball by blocking the path of the runner. This is different than a batter ball which does give the fielder rights of position over the runners.
It is AMAZING how many people know NOTHING about baseball!! Good explanation James.
Another reason to hate Michigan, GO NOLES !!!
I love Michigan but I was rooting for FSU during the finals go blue!
This new obstruction bs makes sure the catcher can't even make a move to catch the ball. Might as well not make a throw at this rate and everyone scores
Idiot
No reply....not in the budget
Fat catcher had only one move she could make . . . get dirty. She did.
Like come on the runner should have slid no doubt it was obstruction but rule 1 on take home plate is slide
There is NO RULE, that the runner has to slide.
Um......what?
Ok....I get that your trying to get views but come on....this is like those fucking fan made movie trailers making you think an actual sequel is coming out
That's intense? I guess softball is really soft.
Actually if you watched the slow mo the runner ran into the catcher
I think the announcer said the catcher was blocking the plate without the ball. Not allowed
That's not a warning.
That should've been a toss.
Dirty play by the catcher
Well this is click bait
When you don't slide you invite the opportunity for a collision. durrr
Intense is the $*** I just took. Not this.
And all on a regulation little league field wtf
Not intense. Just a bad play by the catcher.
