This guy really knows how to do interviews... I don't think I've ever heard him interrupt anyone... he asks really good questions... and he really listens to what they're saying... and you can usually tell that by his response to what they just said ... he seems to do is homework and comes prepared. Why in the world CAN'T most other people do interviews like this gentleman ? Some of them are horrendous , with interrupting and cutting them off at the best parts.

Dang Joe, you knew better than to let your guard down when you were playing against the Silver and Black back in those days. They weren't playin', LOL! Those were the days when the NFL played "REAL FOOTBALL"....not like today. Love the way you tell these stories, so funny! Glad you made it "out" w/o too many bad injuries, we both know it could have been a lot worse. I was an avid fan back in those days, gooooooo Raiders, but now that they've changed the rules/regs so much due to safety precautions it just ain't the same (but I don't wanna see anybody get badly hurt like they used to either).
I am so glad I stopped after high school. At near 60 I am still paying for that. I didn't love in spite of my ability and I wanted to play baseball and golf. No regrets.
The game didnt get softer, the money got better and the player is an enterprise that must take care of themselves. If Joe was making money like the top quarterbacks or even some backup quarterbacks such as chase daniels or mccown, he wouldnt play thru those injuries. And it is the players right to choose not to and their right to get paid what they get paid.

I'm glad nobody mentions his interview wanting to kiss Suzy Kolber. Joe was remorseful, and his behavior was basically harmless. Suzy said so herself. Everyone judging him probably did much worse, just no one saw it. Joe is cooler with each passing year.
I'm glad Broadway Joe didn't become Hollywood Joe and get a fake face like so many do, looks great, glad his body carried him through fairly well. The advantages the players have nowadays not to mention the money, well, you know.
