Hello from SW Iowa, thanks for the tips. We have some tiger lilies who have been struggling. I kinda figured it was too much sun but we tried to transfer them over to a better spot and now they're not budding at all. Is the plant laying dormant?
Thank you for your video. I live in Australia and have a day lilie that after it finished flowering has formed a small plant on the old flower spike. Is this another plant that l can cut off and plant separately??
proliferations as these little plants on the stems are called, can be treated like cuttings. They will take a bit more time and trouble to grow to a garden worthy size unlike a division, but if you look after them in pots and keep them frost free during winter, they can be planted out the following year and will turn into an identical plant to the mother plant.
Day lilies are very forgiving plants! They are quite invasive also, because they keep multiplying each spring.
