This game is very Indiana Jones-coded but the whole part about making children scream using scary monsters to power the local villages just really elevates the story to a whole different level imo.

Not revolutionary, but as a professional game developer working on animation I can tell you that definitely took some work to get right, considering all the things you can grab in this game - props to them!
I love that the damage seems to be cumulative. Like, throwing an umbrella at someone? No effect, obviously. Throw an umbrella at someone _three times,_ though? You've now killed that man.
Everyone remembers death by a thousand cuts, but forgets about death by three umbrellas. Umbrellas are about 333 times more deadly than cuts, mathematically speaking.
Whichever individuals were responsible for the physics and sound design in this game deserve a gold medal. Never has it been more satisfying in a video game to throw random objects at people.
That's because the game runs on the idTech Engine (developed by id Software, creators of Doom, Quake, etc). In the game industry, the idTech Engine is considered one of the slickest, most well-optimized engines. That's always been the case with idTech Engine, ever since the early 90s.
MachineGames doesn't really release broken games do they? I don't recall Wolfenstein or Wolfenstein 2 having any issues though I didn't play Youngblood.
@@phatAl-es8iy Wolfenstein was 10 years ago and the team is likely VERY different from back then, so it stands to reason that anything they make now could be very different in quality as well. I mean the quality of their games was already declining as is, with Youngblood being proof that the team changed enough for the gameplay to suffer. You can't associate quality with a company name, but to the individuals that made that company great in the first place. That's why its sad that so many developers think of these people as disposable and replaceable.
It's awesome that the guy turned out to be a hunk with the exact same humor as me, and sort of the same political views too. It also makes me sad what the US elites are putting their brightest and best people through.
