Jaya Jaya Swamin Lesson - Pallavi & Anupallavi

We are happy to launch this new segment 'Bouquet of Popular Compositions'. Dr. Uma Ram will be teaching some popular compositions in lesson format in these videos. We hope this will help rasikas learn these kritis by watching these videos repeatedly.
First in this series is a Vinayaka Kriti, Jaya Jaya Swamin (Raga Naattai, Talam Adi), a Narayana Theertha composition. In this video, Dr Uma Ram is teaching her student, Shri. Suresh V G Nair from Bay Area, San Francisco.

The composition has been rendered beautifully, bringing out the chaya, rasa of the raga strongly. Both the guru and sishya sang it from the heart, thoroughly enjoying the piece. We can listen and learn it also, because of the clarity in sangathis and speed. Thank you madam

This was probably first Carnatic krithi I heard when I was very young. And it was from the album called memorables by P Unnikrishnan. What a wonderful composition and rendering.
