Hi Bex, if you place foundations down around the perimeter of the garage for some reason the zombies will not go near them. I don't know if this is a glitch an oversight on the devs part or part of the games mechanics. You can then build walls on the inner part of the foundations. I was able to build a small garden and a place for animals outside. I also placed some in front of the building and can keep my doors opened and eliminate the use of the spikes. The only downside is there will be some trial and error when placing foundations and walls due to the ground not being level near the backside so prepare to go through resources. I'm happy you didn't give up on The Last Farmer. I've enjoyed watching your lets plays of this game.
