    Good explanation. But it is important highlight that it is a feasible approach, not the OPTIMAL.

      Check out 22:03 where he specifies that the solutions provided by the gnatt chart are NOT OPTIMAL. Reckon you need to pay more attention lol.

    I just want to ask, is the process shown in solving the problem an exhaustive approach?

    I am getting too much confused. Can anyone explain in easy way. I watch this video 10 times but did not understand anything. 😭

    • @vaga8bnd
      @vaga8bnd 2 роки тому +1

      It is probably because you don't have enough background to understand it. Focus on what information you need to know to understand the part you struggle in this video.

    Which factory in the world has 3 machine doing only 3 jobs - except for the kid's factory at your institute. Real factories have hundreds of machine doing hundreds of jobs. Manufacturing is an on-going activity. Real factories cannot wait for '3' number of jobs to be ordered before scheduling them as some imaginary academic problem. Each job must be scheduled the day it is ordered and a delivery date committed. You are doing a great disservice by teaching totally impractical solutions that are worthless in real life situations. Your solution cannot be scaled up to fit real factories. If you know of any real solution publish a video else just remain cocooned in your academic campus and earn your pay. Real world have no use for your knowledge.

      The professor is teaching scheduling concepts which are accepted world over by industrial engineers. The scheduling problem is not his invention. Ever heard of Flexible Manufacturing Cell (FMC)??? It consists of upto three machining centres, you can implement the principles taught in this lecture in such scenario. Moreover the proposed problem is 'm' machines and 'n' jobs, so you can substitute any number for m and n, the theory works. Only problem with more number of jobs and machines is computation time, that's why you have scheduling softwares.

      Here you get the fundamentals and then you build up on it. Just like or unlike when you were a kid, you learnt from your parents the fundamentals of how to behave other people and then you build up and develop your personality on it.
