Lol thanks for that, I think we got more views when we had 500 subs, the problem is ive changed over the years the things that we watch on youtube and it does have an effect. But having said that we have really enjoyed our time on youtube and also made some lifelong friends. I like watching quirky channels, on all kinds of subjects and not just wild camping. @@savedpurplecat True about those 'quirky channels' I get more out of the more home spun smaller channels than the huge leviathans like Kombi life with nearly half a million subscribers! I'll be returning to more vanlife soon. New VW...well new/old- camper on its way in the next week.

What a great old van, looked these 80s Mercedes 2 & 3 ton basis vans in the past before buying my van. 30mpg seams on the low side, parents auto sleeper based on a transit mk5 with a 70bhp 2.5 di (banana engine no turbo) with an automatic gearbox does high 30's occasionally low 40's to the gallon on a run. Perhaps the solid aerodynamic fibreglass box has a lot to do with the mpg.

We have the 308d (1991) and it does 21mpg. That’s average over 10k miles. Ours does have a turbo, so more power, will cruise at 65mph, so probably uses more fuel than the normally aspirated engined. Love ours.

Ive got a Merc 308d 1991 camper in excellent original condition and love these type of vans. Done quite a lot of mods to it myself. I can confirm you should get 30 to gallon on a run with these as long as its not too overloaded.
Just a bit of welding then !!!!!!! Best get the MOT before you spend too much more money on the camper. Great van. I had one, all it needed was a bit of welding. Same place as yours, oh and the rear chassis, and the door steps and the wings and the scuttle panel under the window. In fact the only thing that wasnt rusty was the engine and gearbox. But in the end a van with no MOT is just scrap metal. Best van I ever had when it was on the road. I should have broken it and sold it off one bit at a time.......Just saying.

Whats the mileage on the engine ? Just bought one of these in much better condition the sherwood camper 207d collecting it tomorrow I’m planning on remodel in the inside as it’s just original condition 88k it’s good but needs updated I did a old 86 Winnebago myself check my video out great video keep up the great work

err think millage is around 40k mark, you will have some fun in yours I think they are fantastic
