The fact Poles received an offer to trade Velus Jones for a draft pick and didnt want to, only to end up cutting him is all I wouldve needed to fire him 😂
I am so happy to hear you two talking about Caleb in this light. It was you Cronin who was all on the Caleb train and trade JF train because that was the right thing to do. Fast forward to now. What I knew would happen. This is why keeping JF and trading down then picking Alt and Fosanu made more sense not because Caleb was better or Fields was better or even how much you had to pay Fields. It was because we needed an o-line. Build an o-line and then later you pick a rookie qb because the Bears weren’t ready to put a rookie on the field and expect instant success. So now Cronin is turning on Caleb and it’s so funny to hear! But you got what you wanted!
As GM you never pass up top QB prospect. So Poles made the correct move there. Where Poles screwed up was taking a punter in the 3rd and not building a line from draft picks and Free agents.
@ I’ve never seen a rule saying you never pass a qb. That’s ridiculous. Building an o-line and coaching it to elite status will make any team successful. Having a great running game and winning the time of possession moves the odds in your favor and it keeps your defense off the field and well rested. This is what happens when you pick a top qb and have no o-line. 4-10 doesn’t sound like it was the right call to me.

Some people don't understand why anyone blames Caleb. There are so many excuses floating around there with the coaches and the o-line that forget the main thing. There were 4 guys available and Once Again we picked the wrong guy. Bo seems to be the guy that would have been best. Bo is playoffs. Caleb is just another Johnny Football NCAA reject that can't think or act fast enough, running around backwards for yet another sack. Caleb is the problem, trade him while everyone still thinks he's this magical unicorn awaiting his unhatching!!
It's his rookie season for fuck sake! Is he blameless? Absolutely not! But this organization has done nothing to set him or this team up for success. We've all seen QBs go from potential bust to average or above average QBs once paired with the right coach. Look no further than Goff, Darnold, Smith, etc. Ownership needs to hire a new coach and GM combo that can turn this franchise around quickly. This coming year is pivotal for this franchise going forward!
Despite a quick release, Caleb had a tendency to hold onto the ball too long in college. This was written off as his feeling that he needed to play hero ball. Justin Fields had the same tendency while with the Bears. Both took a lot of "coverage" sacks or the O-line was blamed for many of both players sacks. Both have also made great plays that give or gave you hope. But when you look again at many of the plays on which both Caleb and Fields have taken sacks, you note that both held the ball for 4 to 5+ seconds and that both routinely had players open on check downs or elsewhere on the field. One of my critiques of Fields was his inability to go through his progressions or see the field enough to find open receivers. Caleb may have the same issue. Hopefully as Caleb gets more familiar with NFL defenses, he'll process better and find the open receivers he's missing. But there's always the possibility that he won't.
Caleb needed this season. He thought it was gonna be a cake walk a smooth ride. He don't feel pressure. He got a rude awakening. Now wake up and play some dam football

I don’t like the “he had no chance” argument when it comes to that lineman. It was a tough situation to be put in, but greatness overcomes. Remember when they criticized Justin saying the great ones always overcome adversity but Caleb doesn’t have to…. I guess he’s not great according to bears media
Thomas Brown main focus on these last three games is to build a three man offense wall in front on Caleb Williams like they did Tom Brady in New England Patriots
If only a substantial constituency of the Bears fan base had loudly proclaimed that we needed to build through the trenches instead of trying to build a fantasy team. Unfortunately NOBODY was being vocal that this would be a better strategy /s
Listen, I'm not defending Caleb's game on Monday. He had a bad game. But wtf are we doing here? Courtney is NOT calling things as they are. Her whole little diatribe about Keenan's reception to target percentage being on Caleb....she didn't even acknowledge the ridiculous drops he had. And the discussion about leaving touchdowns on the field....not a mention about Rome dropping one that hit him directly in the hands. This is what pisses me off....talking heads who say what they have to to support their narrative rather than calling things as they are. It's no mystery why the Bears have struggled. It's EVERYRHING. The entire season was an unmitigated disaster. And that starts at the very top.
Not having time doesn’t excuse the wide open receivers he doesn’t even see over the middle. Almost every sack he takes there’s a wide open guy over the middle. Does he even know Cole kmet is on this team?
I literally would have a 7 man protection every play if that’s what it takes to keep Caleb upright and let Rome Keenan & Dj make plays it’s gotta be something they can do to keep him clean cause you can’t ruin this kid he’s that guy at QB
We should have never wasted cap space on swift and Keenan. For that alone poles should be fired. Terrible acquisitions Everyone wants blame Caleb but swift can’t even break a tackle. He can’t block And Keenan has no speed and drops at least 2 passes in every game
There's got to be a QB development secret out there that the Bears aren't accessing. They ruined JF and are ruining Caleb. I tend to think Trubisky didn't have the ceiling that was hoped when he was drafted at #2, but Caleb and (I believe) JF do have that ceiling. They got smacked around in early years and it changed their headspace. The Bears cannot protect and the cannot develop. Joe Burrow got smacked around early, and still developed and managed to keep his wits. So it's possible but the Bears don't have that ability to develop someone.
What happened was that he wasn't ready. As in coached up for the game. He was so confused. He saw blitz they went zone. He saw zone they blitzed. Terrible coaching.
I genuinely believe Ryan Poles can do a good job. That being said you gotta marry the coach and the GM especially since you didn’t do that when you drafted the QB.
We could've kept fields behind this poor o line, traded the #1 pick, got a haul, fixed the team & drafted a QB, let him sit until he's ready and the team was ready like gb/kc. For not doing this, poles should be fired
I think Bears should sit Caleb these last 3 games and see if Bagent moves the offense better. I think Caleb is still the better QB, but I think Bagent gets rid of the ball faster.
O.k., but Joe Borrow has been in the league for few years now. You can't compare him to Celeb. I under what y'all are saying about his inaccuracies tho. Very noticeable to all Bears fans.🙄
The Bears should do research, turn over every stone, hire the best people to help find the best head coach, make their decision and then do the exact opposite
Caleb will be fine. New coach and fix the line. They need a strong QB coach and OC and offensive line. Teach Caleb better foot work and how to read defenses better. Sam Darnold was taught by McConell how to read a defense instead of just showing him offensive schemes.
Caleb got the talents but he does not have the mental toughness to be an NFL QB at the moment. The body language says everything, should have drafted JD.
Am I the only one who doesn't believe that you can "ruin" a qb by him struggling in year one? I feel like it's just narrative. It makes for a journalistic story, but we don't have the ability to see whether a guy would have been a bust anyway. Merrill Hoge pre draft said that he didn't see special in Caleb Williams. I think that we are ignoring the possibility that Caleb may not be the can't miss prospect that he was anointed to be, but the Bears will definitely get blamed for "ruining" him if he doesn't live up to the hype.
This is cool stuff, we could have paid Justin Fields 2.6 million this year and have possibly 3 or 4 #1 picks this year, but no we paid Caleb Williams 34 Million and ball droppin Rome...Smart, Savey. Poles is a joke, he couldn't pick an offensive lineman if his life depended on it.
Caleb should have never been drafted by the bears believe it or not my cousins like this huge Lion Fan he said people were cheering the bears traded him away they absolutely hated going against Fields
It's time to bench Caleb Williams for Tyson Begent and Let Tyson win the Last 3 games on the schedule. Caleb Williams just doesn't have it, he can't win any games and misses wide open receivers, his receivers need to stop dropping the ball. Let Tyson Begent come in and show what he has???
The best for CW is that he gets traded. As long as he doesn’t end up in NY he’ll be far better off than Chicago. Such a terrible excuse for a football team
Let’s be honest, since week 1 he has never been accurate on deep throws and even missed many short throws. Just watch all the games over and you will see. How do we expect that’s going to get better, it never will, just look at the other QB rookies, they aren’t missing as bad as Caleb. Something is wrong with his fundamentals and foot work.
Need to hire new GM & HC, Poles can not be allowed to use these upcoming Draft Picks next year. No longer trust him, considering mostly what he has evaluated as good players.
We need to hold her accountable. She’s just not a good NFL quarterback. She’s riding off her college stats against weak pac 10 defenses. The nfl separates the men from the girls and she’s just not her. 💅
Maybeeeee... the team and front office decided they don't like who Caleb Williams is either. He doesn't seem to be getting a lot of support on and off the field.

The Bears are just the worst, and it will be hard for anyone to thrive in this dysfunctional nightmare- Lousy head coach, incompetent OC, bad OL Williams even with all that is the best QB the bears have ever had
Merrill Hoge said before draft Caleb is not accurate and everyone laughed at him. Guess what - Caleb is not accurate - every time he throws deep you cringe that it will be nowhere near the receiver.
For all the CW hate heres some numbers...CW (rookie) 2937 yrds, 17 tds - 5 ints, 87.7 rating Fields (2023) (4th yr in league) 2562 yrds, 16 tds - 9 ints, 86.3 rating. Trade Caleb? Possibly. Fire Poles? Definitely. That would be Warren's job. Fire Warren? Definitely. That would be George McCaskey's job. The possibilities are endless 😃
Caleb Williams has no time to make good decisions with a horrible line. If you think Caleb is so horrible then trade him and watch him flourish behind a true NFL line. That would be perfect justice for Bears fans...

Thank You
Listen, I'm not defending Caleb's game on Monday.
Courtney you always have a good analysis. Do you think the coaches are missing details that could make the players better?
Gee do you think?
I don't think CW is broke, and I believe to have more hope in Caleb than I did JF at this point
Caleb Williams is a rookie on a team with no head coach no leadership and no organization . Thanks Ryan Poles !
I literally would have a 7 man protection every play if that’s what it takes to keep Caleb upright and let Rome Keenan & Dj make plays it’s gotta be something they can do to keep him clean cause you can’t ruin this kid he’s that guy at QB
It's his footwork not in sink with players routes which is biggest problem with inaccurate throws
We should have never wasted cap space on swift and Keenan. For that alone poles should be fired. Terrible acquisitions
Everyone wants blame Caleb but swift can’t even break a tackle. He can’t block
And Keenan has no speed and drops at least 2 passes in every game
Pat's line about Colbert 😂😂😂
I spoke to quick Pat i thought you were saying its solely on Caleb my bad bro
Jayden Daniel…17 tds, 6 int
Caleb Williams…17 tds, 5 int
Now consider the defenses Caleb has faced the last 5 weeks…with the coaching mess
Aaron rodgers also has 3200 yards 23 TDS 8ints 3-10 record Caleb has garbage yards that doesn’t translate to winning
why no Kaylab play good in start of games? he get good at end for trash times.
O.k., but Joe Borrow has been in the league for few years now. You can't compare him to Celeb. I under what y'all are saying about his inaccuracies tho. Very noticeable to all Bears fans.🙄
Courtney! ❤
Please!! someone, please get to Poles, ask him what is he seeing!!😲🤔🧐🎓
It is my opinion That COVID Warren picked CW not Poles!
Mel Kipper gives you the top 10 picks so I give Poles zero credit in drafting Wright,Rome,Williams zero credit
Screw Mel Kiper !
Allen has had a lot of dropped balls this season. Catchable balls. I do not desire to see him again next season. May he enjoy retirement. It is time.
I think caleb is throwing with a little too much power that's why. He seems scared and fires it on short passes
@@thomasjgour4678Nah, Justin Herbert throws hard too.
Do you wish you drafted Jayden or wish you signed Kliff?
The Bears should do research, turn over every stone, hire the best people to help find the best head coach, make their decision and then do the exact opposite
Was there this level of dissection on rookie Justin….because I know for a fact Pat wasn’t doing it to year 3 Justin. 🙄
Also, living in SW OH. I can assure you that Burrow wasn’t doing what Pat is describing as a rookie.
Getting sacked 5 to 7 times a game, hurried chased out of what little pocket there is will do that to a guy can’t blame him the o line is a joke
He is playing for the Bears.
Caleb will be fine. New coach and fix the line. They need a strong QB coach and OC and offensive line. Teach Caleb better foot work and how to read defenses better. Sam Darnold was taught by McConell how to read a defense instead of just showing him offensive schemes.
Caleb lying on the ground and in pain on the bench has started Memes. Thats how bad its gotten. This is all on the Bears organization.
Caleb makes the run out of the pocket throws, but regular ,boring plays he misses way to often.
Demote TB back to OC so he can go in the booth.
Maybe it’s because he has been sacked over 50 times. Who wouldn’t be worried and rushing throws if they were with that awful line
Bench Caleb. Sitting can give him time to get right.
It’s time to sit Caleb. At this point, they’re hurting his development.
Hold cw to the same standards as jf was.
Need to hire new GM & HC, Poles can not be allowed to use these upcoming Draft Picks next year. No longer trust him, considering mostly what he has evaluated as good players.
The Charlie Brown comparison is perfect.
He is earning his money through hits…
The whole team on offense was Putrid. No line. QB played bad. Lots of drops. Can't make a dam yard twice. Putrid
Should they sit him?
We need to hold her accountable. She’s just not a good NFL quarterback. She’s riding off her college stats against weak pac 10 defenses. The nfl separates the men from the girls and she’s just not her. 💅
Next coach cannot swear, Courtney you just said shitload. You're out. Lol
Maybeeeee... the team and front office decided they don't like who Caleb Williams is either. He doesn't seem to be getting a lot of support on and off the field.
Need to start Baggett. Let the kid sit and watch. Worked for Young.
You don't even know the guy's name?
Ya let’s see what Bagents got Williams could use a break can’t be much worse be fun to watch
TISK TISK PAT.... ya can't get the real BEARS FANS TO WATCH ... NOW YOU GOTTA GO OUT AND TRY A D GET THE JUSTIN FANS SO YA MIGHT WANNA START YOUR OWN ESPN PITTSBURGH. 👋 👋 👋
Bears are gonna waste away Caleb’s talent
he is maybe like the 5th or 6th best Rookie QB. If we take Daniels, Nix, or Maye we're in good shape. Another Poles mistake to go along with Eberflus.
Caleb is the 2024 Bryce Young. Sooner you accept it the sooner we can figure out how to fix it.
Mike Varbel sucks just as bad as CW. He would be the worst hire.
If he would throw the ball he might not get sacked all of the time.
For all the CW hate heres some numbers...CW (rookie) 2937 yrds, 17 tds - 5 ints, 87.7 rating
Fields (2023) (4th yr in league) 2562 yrds, 16 tds - 9 ints, 86.3 rating.
Caleb will get better leaps and bounds better....with one of the worst front offices/line protection I have ever seen in bears history.
And when he has time he is missing layups!
It's fucking wild that there on here comparing Williams to Fields is just crazy with all the BS the kid is going to break all Bears Rookie QB records ! Everyone has blame but the damn head coach fired, 3rd offense coordinator and the offense line in shambles. Get out of here ! If the kids overcome this BS I better not hear all the D riding keep the same energy.
Yep, going to break all the records, including for sacks
Coaches got fired!
@@JJarv213 let me guess all of them are on him ? Lol
HE HAS NO OL!!!!!
I want Nick Saban as the GM and Kyle Shanahan for our HC. That's all I want for Christmas!
I’ve been shouting it from the rooftops. He’s not putting in the work he needs to be great. He’s talking this week about doing things better in the weight room and in terms of nutrition. Wtf? This should not be an issue at this point in the season. This is something you need to get right in training camp, if not before that.
