    Of course, he would agree with the FDA that this is akin to a new drug. To do otherwise, would increase risk of his related patents being found invalid. Someone could still argue, nonetheless, that a combination of well known treatments is obvious and is unpatentable subject matter.

      I think he can probably patent the indication. Eg: marketing hgh+metformin+dhea for this specific purpose, and with the drug SPC describing this specific purpose. This would prevent other companies from directly marketing the same. It would not prevent, however, individual physicians from prescribing each component from other company, off label.
      There are plenty of examples of this kind of approval process. In the longevity biotech arena, for instance, Rejuvenate Biomed has been working in a repurposed combination of metformin + galantamine for sarcopenia

    Personalized medicine is the way to go. For this reason, his plan is more realistic than other approaches which favor a single universal treatment like the Yamanaka factors, for example.
    Yes, we will have to pay. Yes, it is going to be expensive.

    Interesting. You need a dedicated AI companion to monitor your stats and talk to the company.

    And the more I listen to this guy, the more BS I smell. All the ingredients are cheap, cheap, cheap, yet the protocol will be super expensive because of all the exceptional brain power that's gone into it 😅😂

      HGH is certainly not cheap. Depending on the dosage we are talking about 1000-2000USD per month. Metformin and DHEA are not terribly expensive but if we are talking year-long therapy it does add up. I'm fairly sure the numbers add up. The FDA has historically been watchful about participant funded clinical trials

    I dunno... The ingredients are all just supplements, with the minor exceptions of metformin and HGH. I sense obfuscation and maybe a bit of deception here. I seriously doubt whether a rigorous approval process is necessary.

    • @incognitus4457
      @incognitus4457 3 місяці тому

      New existing drug combinations do require regulatory agency approval. You see it in oncology all the time. Nothing 'minor' about metformin and HGH, both are prescription requiring drugs.

      @@incognitus4457 Well, I think the answer is a bit more nuanced. Physicians are free to individually prescribe drugs (i.e., to combine them) without FDA approval, provided there are no known significant risks from the combination. If a Physician wants to prescribe you HGH to increase muscle mass and wants to simultaneously prescribe you Metformin to control blood sugar parameters, I don't think the FDA is going to get involved in that combination or prohibit it. If you live in the U.S., you can simply go buy DHEA from the local grocery store and add that yourself to the HGH / Metformin combination prescribed by your doctor. Now if a pharmaceutical company wants to market a product that is combination of several treatments, that's perhaps a different story..
      Dr. Fahy was suggesting that the simple combining alone of the three ingredients in the treatment requires some expertise and titration. He was implicitly warning against a combining approach without well informed guidance..
      I think this may be a difficult business for Dr. Fahey's company. Even if his patents are enforceable (and that's a big "if"), there would likely be work-arounds to the patents that physicians and patients could employ without worry of infringement.
