The "remastered" tracks are about the same as their 2013 versions, just seemingly having a bit of cleanup in terms of audio so they're more, well, clean, for a modern version of the game As chat mentioned, the REAL "new versions" are called " Returns". If anyone watching has interest in Risk of Rain, I'd highly recommend experiencing it in-game before going to search it up, because *man* it's good.
Yep that's exactly what remastering is. Literally re-mastering the tracks, mastering being one of the final steps in music production where you basically add final small touches to the song to give it that extra polish. It's actually quite common for a mastering studio to do this part as it's a very different skillset and getting a different set of ears on your track can give you a master you might not be able to achieve, which is why it's impressive knowing Chris does all the mastering himself.
Your thinking of remixes as an audio engineer you change nothing about the mix itself and instead undo the last steps and do it again for a re master instead of a re mix Hope that clears it up for you :)
This track has always been what I will call an elegy to lost humanity. You think about what you character has done to reach this point… and have to stop and think. After all, you may leave with everything, but you will always, always lose your humanity. Whether it’s becoming the monster you feared, or worse…
Holy COW you really went all out on this one :D I love watching people jam or get introduced to Chris' works, its amazing how he pulls everyone into those deep connections with the songs. Even for your standards, you so lost yourself in it and went HAM, love it!
I was so addicted to risk of rain 2 i had like 100 hours the first month i got it and i want the new risk of rain so bad (also amazing banger as always)
