Hey Steve, where did you buy your gts-t? Ive been looking at some import places out of Cali, I live on the east coast. Some of these places seem over priced but buying from someone off the street could be risky too.. Just curious about your experience. I dont want to spend 20k on something that breaks a month after purchase.
GTS-T is RWD, automatically wins.
but the gtr can be switched between rwd and awd I think
Tyler Hodgkiss no it cant
@@Chann0097 well there's actually a fuse that controls the awd system in gtrs and if u put a switch between it you can switch it from rwd to awd
its rwd but it switches to awd automatically when you need it f
@@Ricecookerrrrrrrrrrr no his right you can put a switch to switch between AWD and rwd that why it's the best gtr ever made
The reason you should get a gtst
1 : it isn’t gonna cost you 40k
Just buy both. Problem solved.
FeignTheGamer or that haha
never thought of that
k1llampt ok I’ll do that just one question can I have like 40,000 dollars
Mason O’dwyer yeah me too, an (almost) high schooler can NOT buy one for that much lol unless 1. Daddy’s money 2. UA-cam lol
Buy a GTR and you will forget about the gtst
I have a 97 gtst with a 26 swap. I've owned 8 skylines before I decided I definitely wanted to build a gts. it's more exciting to drive better looking and all around a better drivers car. the gtr's is almost to refined. my gts gives me a gut turning "it's going to try and kill me" feeling that I never got from a gtr's with the same whp. ppl think I'm crazy and I should have kept my gtr but if you have owned and built both you would understand. cool video man and thank you. my gtst made 587 on 11psi need fuel system to turn up the boost and the car is a riot I wouldn't trade it for anything.
right now i own a supercharged trans am but i did own a 89 gtr when the r32 was first available in the us market... and i loved it until it bored me not to say it wasn't fast as hell... funner then most the cars i have ever driven and it turned heads everywhere... i always had someone taking pics or asking me about it...but its kinda too ez... idk how to describe it but i feel brecken does a good job of it... my trans am on launching with the same hp on the track is a monster to control i have done 4-5 runs and im sweating and feel worn down from the work i had to do and i feel good ... the gtr made me feel that way at first but then it just went down the track flawlessly every run was the same even in the rain i had good times with no effort from me except for shift points... and thats not to difficult after a while.... so now im actually finalizing the paper work to sell the trans am this weekend and have been debating for a month on what to get and i do have $(30k+read to go) so i can get another gtr but after driving the gtst gtr and r33 gtst and investing time to decide its down to 2 a 91 gts-t type m with 35k miles basically all stock except gtr bumpers hood and grill with mint paint for $15,999.... or a r33 gts-t with rb25 sitting at about 400hp (honestly my goal is 350-400 so no further work involved) with 125,000 kil on car unknown on motor for $18,000.. i much rather feel my heart trying to escape from my chest that why i do this for the rush.. plus 400 hp in the r32 gtst and r33 gtst ... all goals achieved under 20k , compared to the 35k all together id have to invest in a gtr to get it to like 1400hp to freak me out but then its not the most street friendly..... also yes this will be detuned compared to my gtr on its last dino was 600hp and too ez to drive :p (fun per $ = gtst)
*rb26 swap. Ofc itll be fast/gut turning. It's not stock the stock engine therefore doesn't count.
Dude hell yeah I f****** hate skylines but if I save up my money
cuz it's just f****** hard for me right now man I'm trying to get a car right now but I would totally get a GTS man Skyline I found one
that they only want 3000 for the car and to ship it to New Jersey I have family in New Jersey I can talk to my aunt and hopefully I can
get it shipped to her place and go down there and pick it up cuz they don't f****** ship in Virginia while I actually live at which irritates the
hell out of me all together it will be 5,000 I was thinking about getting a hatchback Honda cuz they're cheap you can buy one for a hundred something or thousand .
they're just really cheap all around cars but I don't know man if I get 5000 I wouldn't mind buying a GTS Skyline way better than the GTR
my opinion just because something has a bad your name and people think it's good because everybody wants it and because it
made a name for herself doesn't that say make it better. Any car can be any car in pretty much as
the same as the GTR it's just all GTRs are manual and this is just an automatic but I fux Wit It heavily. And who in the hell in their right mind spend 30000 of 40000
if you are a middle class dude if you get in the action and you'll go bankrupt and wind up homeless
the GTS is the exact same but half of the price and half of the cost like this guy said
Brecken what did you do for the transmission? I really want to do the same buying a r32 gtst and I will convert the body to a GTR spec but keeping it rwd I like how it drives
You nailed this. 100%. Exact reasons why I’m going GTST over GTR. I want the experience. I see resale being easier with GTST for reasons you stated. Not many have 30k in cash for a GTR.
man 4 years ago must have been nice gtrs are now 60-90k
@@cadenkarle7764 yep
Up until about 24 months ago, the 32 GTR was the obvious choice. Now that their prices have gone stupid high, the R33 GTST easily represents the best value.
MY IMPRESSION:
There are plenty of reasons why the GT-R is so desired. A generation of kids grew up driving the GT-R in Gran Turismo. Many of my peers read features in automotive magazines, but honestly 2 Fast 2 Furious locked it down for me. The allure is also heighten due to the 25 year import band from the NHTSA’s (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Skyline is truly a breed of its own with respect that surpasses the Nissan brand itself. No other Nissan vehicle has been put on a pedestal so grand as the GT-R.
Gran Turismo is exactly why
So I've had the pleasure of owning a gtst before my GTR. I have to agree with yourcarbro that I wanted the full driver and owner experience. You did hit the nail on the head about needing to dump lot of money into the gtst to make it go fast. I've been there haha. That's why I decided to get my GTR! Handles way better and obviously more performance! BUT a rwd skyline is always good for a skid :)
You are 100 percent right plus u forgot to mention gtst weigh less and perfect swap for an rb25
Currently saving money for a R32 gtst. I love the look of the gtr. But I love a sexy sedan.
Like you said. 80% of both cars are virtually identical. Right hand drive. Nissan. Skyline. Turbo. Etc. It really just comes down to your budget and preference. They're both amazing cars
Let's face it. The reason the majority of us are paying for double or triple the price is for the two GT-R badges on the car.
Lol , you sure?
Not really. I don’t really like how the front looks
So I’m 16 years old right and I work make my own money and I was actually going to buy a 4 door gtst because I personally love it and it’s so much more affordable and In New York there isn’t a high demand so it’s a little cheaper, and it was 7,500 and I was set in buying it, it had a few dings in the car but nothing I couldn’t fix myself I take a auto mechanics class in school and I live in Maryland so would be cool going to school in a skyline but my parents didn’t like the whole right hand drive thing so I bought my second mk3 Supra for the same price 🤷🏻♂️
You can’t go wrong with a Supra, the mk3 is a great platform to start with, and if you like the feel you can build it up to 500hp much more reliable with 1jzgte than the RB will be. Toyota and Honda are more reliable and less expensive to begin your car journey with. Good luck
Yuri Rivera that’s a gts4
Got the Rb25 gtst 15 years back and little regrets, it was like a fighter jet. The r33 that is.
love my GTST. car + RB25 swap still cheaper than GTR. Still turns heads. Down side is the GTST specific parts are a bit harder to find.
Buying an r32 gtst tmr with a rb25 swap. happy medium. great price. hoping for the best and ill have some money aside in case something breaks. ill be able to handle it.
ill eventually get an r32 gtr aswell. but for now to get the beginner experience of the r32 lifestyle , rhd driving in the united states , and some wrench time on this motor and my intro to doing basically everything by myself. i deem this car perfect. + i wont feel bad if i want to widebody it.
Sheer price point for me! proud Gtst owner in canada. someone below mentioned the fact that you missed the idea of an rb25 swap, and how unbelievably easy it is to do. ive got some buddies up here with rb25 skylines and those things are mental! delete hicas and AC rb25 swap some bolt ons and you`ll be cooking GTRs all day. 350hp and 2700 lbs is a fun street car! Subbed!
I like my GTST because it’s easier to find parts for it, sometimes I use GTR parts on my GTST and the prices are stupid expensive
I bought the Gtst mainly cause of pricing and already owning awd car, i just wanted a rwd. unfortunately living in Minnesota i only get like 3 months to drive but also gives me time to upgrade little things.
Why would you live in MT though.? Life is too short to waste it in a cold and bleak frozen place like the northern states, where snow demands you to have a awd and destroys your car with rust....
It might be just my personal opinion but.. FL, AZ, CA, HI even NM, so many options I would choose over a cold place with snow....
I prefer the gtst because I don't want to drive around a car thinking someone might crash into you
Great info, I would definitely would get one in the futurenfor the wife. I always loved the Lexus is300. So I have so far owned two Toyota Altezza RS200's
I bought my GTST 2 years before it became legal for less than $4k. I did put some money into her after getting her here to the states, but I expected to do that as part of the build. I chose the GTST because I have a family and I know how I am with cars and the amount of $ I put in to them. The GTST in the long term costs me less. Right now she weighs 2,600 lbs and has 325hp as the crank. That's 250hp per tonnes. She is amazingly fun to drive and sounds better than birds singing on a sunny day. haha. I would go GTST any day because I am trying to please myself and have fun and not buy a GTR just because someone else will think I'm cool.
mind sharing your engine mods? that about where id like to be at.
skylinedude951 Sure. Rb25 turbo, gfb bov vented to atmos, large fmic, apexi air filter, z32 MAF, gtr injectors, tomei pon cams, tomei cam gears, larger rad, 3.25" downpipe, 3.25" test pipe, HKS catback exhaust, Nistune piggyback, boost controller. All the usual gauges (boost, egt, oil temp, oil pressure, afm).
I think I'll buy a gtst it leaves me with more money to correct any flaws and for some small nice upgrades...and ur gtst is mint 😎😎😎
I want to buy a gtst. missed just out on one for £4500 not the best body work but not too rough but engine was sound.
I got my GTR because it was a dream car for me. If I got anything else it would feel like I just bought a na impreza instead of a STI... Its close but just not the same.
Im close now, 2019 is my purchase year and im buying a R2 or 33 GTst - Im going to buy from japan and import it to the UK. Nervous but cant wait till next year when I have the full money saved.
hey bro im Inlove with the r32 im actually really happy for you bro 👍
how did it work out
Returns the Hero 5 frame and then said you might buy a Hero 5. I hope you buy the same frame you returned once you buy the camera. Anyway I choose to buy a GTR because I wanted that 100% ownership experience. GTST is a good option for someone who wants to slide or just wants the cheaper option but IMO the GTR offers worlds more.
I mean I still have the gift card lol just waiting for that tax return
I am just messing with you lol
I agree with you, i'll also take the GTR beacause i want the experience from that AWD and AWS system, so a gtst just wouldn't be enough for me
reading both your comments its sounds neither of u have owned a gtr (not a bad thing) but u should read breckens comment and mine under it... we both have owned and driven gtr's invest the time and research b4 getting one or the other and being disappointed 25k-35k is a lot of money to spend... also all the little things like they dont make gtr windshields in the stats cost me almost 600$ to replace compared to the 120$ my trans am cost... every part will be 2-3 times more so sometimes cheaper is better
Your opinion is stupid then
The GTS was made for a different purpose than the GTR, so how the fuck does the GTR provide a complete owner experince more than the GTS? Childish idea, illogical too
Great video. First time seeing your channel and subscribed. I am saving my money for an R33 because I am madly in love with R33. In 2 or 3 years I will have enough money saved to get a GTR. The GT and GTST are great but I prefer something a little fast. Who knows maybe I will change my mind.
I love my r32 gtst rb20 I've had it for 10 years now and still love it
do u daily it?
Not any more
ur skyline has such a good stance
I'm planning on importing a r32 gxi with the 1.8L ca18i "90bhp" haha.
Loved the video.
Wait till you get the R34 GTR’s in the U.S.
price of them in the UK at the moment is between £50,000-70,000 and over £100,000 for the super rare ones. So the R34?GTT is a no brainer at £11,000-£20,000
seen a few 40k R34 GTRs for sale. GTTs are getting dearer to buy though alot for 20k now which were 10k afew years ago. Its a shame the R33 look so over weight
I love the GTR, for pretty much the mai reasons others do. But in reality I’d end up with a GTS-T 4 door. Price, and the four doors would do it for me. Inline 6 sounds etc like you said. Probably also because I’m in a phase where I appreciate the cars that aren’t normally the sought after ones. Example, my 63 Fairlane Ranch wagon lol.
“If your buying a gtr don’t drift it” “but that’s just my opinion” whaaaaaaat @5:00
I loved that BRZ.
Wow man just realized after watching you for a few month's that we live in the same city! i knew that skyline looked familiar! looking to get one but can't decide between munto or doing it all myself.
30K for a GTR!? In Australia an R32 is 40-60K and the R33’s are usually 40-70 the R34’s cost a soul at 80 at lowest (extremely rare) and 350K biggest for a V spec II, normal GTR R34’s cost 100k
USD not AUD
lol lol no no no, don’t matter. It’s because this video was 2 years ago most likely GTR were cheaper back then.
@@Kookakurra lol no, r32s haven't risen too much in price recently, GTS-Ts have. 30k usd to aud is 43k aud.
lol lol 32 gtst went from 5k two years ago to 20
Yrxzz that.. is literally what I fucking agreed upon
Thanks for this video I literally didn't know the difference between the two models. This is definitely good to know
Just subscribed, your channel is great, I don’t know why you don’t have more subscribers, thank you for the videos especially for the video about what to look for when buying a skyline it was very helpful, I’m looking to buy a GTST pretty soon, so that info is gonna come in pretty handy
Just buy a gtst-4 best of both worlds
3ys later most all gt-r's im finding are like 30-65k and im stiiiiil trying to pick up a gt-s t type M for like 22k
Who drives a stock car? A grocery getter yes, but not one that you drive for fun and enjoyment. Driving a car as comes from manufacturer is completely senseless to me. Part of the experience of driving is modifying the car to my liking, improving it, it's a journey that makes the car personal
What if someone just likes the stock car?
My GTST R32 & My GTR R32. I didnt want to do anything to the GTR except the Gtst. Cause I Love My GTR more haha. But Goodies for the GTST ;)
Bro just watched one of ur videos for the first time and instantly subscribed very good content and noticed ur local to me as well. I'm huge into Cara nd wanna get a new project next tax time. I'd love to see the gtst in person definitely one of the cars I'm looking into.
The thing is, 1. I love drifting. 2. I love touge. That being said, I hear that the GTR like most AWD cars is a bitch to drift in. You'd have to be incredibly skilled to even get close to pulling anything like that off with the ATESSA in play (I've also heard that you can turn that off). As that's the case, I'm on the fence about it. I love the GTR for the sheer engineering prowess behind its all wheel drive system. That being said, it's not a drift car. It was built for gripping around corners in the Japanese grand prix. With that in mind, maybe a cheaper RWD version would be the better choice for a track style drift build. Maybe.
Look at all the footage of GTR's drifting on touges. The GTR is a homologation car the other is just a base model, no contest GTR every time if you have the money. Oh and thanks to the USA making the prices stupid, non GTR's are massively overpriced they were worth about 2k before they ruined it.
I've seen a lot more GTS-T on drift track than GTR. GTS-T is RWD and its lighter than GTR too. Its a great drift car.
Now in the summer of 2024 a gtst is in the gtr price range when this vid was made.💀
I'm buying a clean gtst for 8000$. no engine or gearbox included. luckily I'll get rb25 single turbo with a gearbox for free from my brother. :)
Optional: Move here to Australia where we can get the R34.
Was looking at gtst for my first drift car not gon lie
who also hates the people who buy a GTR just to build the AWD and WAS system out, to dreuft it, instead of getting an GTST?
I enjoy a all skylines but I dis agree with buying one and not playing with it you don't have to put the car at risk if you don't want to but cars can be fixed and you only live once
Honeslty I think the reason more people don’t buy more gtst, is because it’s not a GTR
Good video, clean cars , subscribed 👍
Been thinking about the 4 door gts-t as well after paying off my frs . Sometime this year .
Thanks man appreciate it!
I’m saving up for a GTS-t but I personally would buy it bc it’s way more cheaper 😂
nice vid..thx for info been torn between a gtr or gtst
Hey mate, I’m in Aus, I drive 34 gtt, with traction control. The car is awesome, though in the wet it just can’t grip that well on t/o. hence why I would have the Gtr plus I love the shape, 6itb’s, twins the way they were meant to be!
Hiw do you like your 33gtr? How is it in wet weather?
Mate come to New Zealand and everyone has a skyline as a track car its so common here you probs see a skyline everyday u wake up
yeah not the same here lol
U have both of the cars i want in my garage when i am 25
You can do it!!
Im from Germany want to buy a skyline R32 I will import one but I'm not sure which one because dream was a GTR but they getting pretty expensive specally in Germany you pay for one with 100k Miles about 50.000 dollars in not the best condition. I love the body from the gtr and gtst .But can I get about 500 hp out of a RB20 sure you need money for that but is it possible to build a rock solid 500hp RB20 ? Which one should I buy. Thx for your answers.
Hey where is a good web site to but parts I have a gtst and looking for a good price for stuff.
Here in 2022 gtst’s are 25k+ and gtr’s are 50k+ so sad I guess I’ll never own one lol
Dude did you stance your skyline? Please tell me you didnt and its just the camera angle.
As someone from a country where R34s are legal, do I have to hurry with buying an R34 while US ban still stands? Are they going to drastically increase all the prices once the ban lifts?
I'm not an expert, but I think you should search it on the web, some Skyline GTR forums, and whatever...
Still a bit confused, what is a major or noticeable difference between the GTR and GTST?
you get more power out of an rb26 and it revs higher
GTR is all wheel drive while GTS-T is rear wheel drive. GTS-T is also lighter than GTR which is why a lot of people use it as drift cars. But GTS- T is less powerful than GTR.
What is the difference between gtr and gtst?
Wait... you have a 4 door r32 and ur comparing it to a gtr... il just be on my way
well its buyers guide so yes..
You missed out the in between car. HNR32.
Sorry buddy. A gtr skyline is not only superior in every way it also holds it's value way better. Get a gtr if have the money people. Coming from a gtr owner for over 8 years.
seems kinda biased lol
@@skylinedude951 hes right own both, gtr hold more values

anyone else see the pink panther house at like 2:50 or something
Price difference brand new 1990 was 2,100,000 yen , there resales aren't that much difference gts-t m start at 1.3 million yen / gtr 2.5 million yen

I found a 1993 Skyline R32 GTS for $6k.
Is it worth buying?
This would be my first car. Would appreciate a reply
As long as its in good condition seems like a ok price.
skylinedude951 thanks for the reply appreciate it!
Kinda... I bought my 96 ecr33 for7
I found a gtst for 8k in my area. But in not even old enough to drive. Rip
SP1CY MUSTURD I’m 12 and buying a skyline in 2 years
@@evanducheny807 yeah of course ahhahaha
in Australia, young poser kids used the car your driving as drift missiles, 10 years ago.
and with stretched tyres like that, no point having more traction anyway
stewart Funny you say that because Australians are still buying and making videos on these cars and the majority of them are grown men.
Theres nothing wrong with drifting RFB
Yep. Had mine back in 2004. Can't wait to buy another one now that I've got the house buying out of the way.
your Skyline dude I'm Prelude dude 93 black right hand drive
The ONLY minus to GTR, it can't drift :(
Hey what's your opinion on the gts4 compared to the gts-t?
Noah Kambeitz if its a turbo GTS4 then its basically a GTR with 2L or 2.5L instead of 2.6 lol but the neo 25det makes near the same as the 26dett
what about exterior modding can i use gtr side skirts etc on the gts
Well 2022 and in paid $29,800 for a 92 gtst lol
damn
i want a 4 door gtst
I'm thinking about getting a gtst as a project would it be worth doing an rb25 swap or not ?
I would say so its a popular thing.
If you get a ecr33 it come w a rb25
I would get a gtst to drift
Any one know what rims are on the gts and the specs
Xavier wulf inspired me to get one
What’s the bumper on your car
im moving to florida with a R32!!!

35$ to fill up?
How much was the gas per gallon bro?
it was probably around $4 for 93 at the time

Well the base model is the GT not gts.
Mythic _. Yea there the gts, gts25, gts25t and the type m. So he’s a little far off from base model lol I live in japan and over here just because it’s not a gtr doesn’t mean it’s not a skyline haha
Easy. Because we're brokees. So we want a gtr that we can afford
Hey man. You mentioned taking out a loan to buy a Skyline. Who would finance a Skyline? That's an old car. Short of taking out a personal loan (crazy interest rate) what are other options?
Joseph P Most importers also finance cars they sell. Theres also LoanMe which gives loans from 2500-100k just moderate to high interest but you can use the money on anything. Also theres a lot of companies that specialize in it
I have actually just purchased a gtst may I be baptized into the cult now ps it’s my first stick car and I’m learning on it lmaooo but let’s see what I end up doing to it in a few months see y’all soon
How’d it go?
Hey man, awesome video, helped me a lot. I'm looking to get a skyline, too and I've been wondering if there's no r32/33 gts or something, because I really want to stay at a maximum of 200hp because it's my first car and I don't want to overdo it. Thanks for your help
Thierry Papillon my naturally aspirated RB25DE Skyline makes that
What about the gte
meh
Stock turbo?
on mine? yes for now.
