U.S. Navy Senior Chief Edward Byers Jr. charged in to a room, shot a Taliban fighter, tackled and killed another, then he heard an English voice call out to him across the room. He dove on the American hostage, shielding him from gunfire all the while pinning another enemy to the wall by the throat while another SEAL shot the enemy.
