I'm glad it could help, you'll love it Mark. Actually I told a buddy to get an Atoll before I made this video. He didn't and got a different one. He told me today that the other one has already broken. I told him: YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO ME!
Dif do the paddle upgrade to carbon fiber, you will think me latter. But yes this Atoll and the Blackfin by Irocker are the best boards on the market for the money
The best SUP board review video that I have ever watched! Full of passion and convincing! I fast forward a little bit the first time I watched (I did that on all other SUP board review videos because they are all about the same), then I realised how good and unique this video is and I went back to watch it all over again without one second of fast forwarding. And then? I subscribed to your channel, of course! 😄
I just got an 11 foot Atoll. Clean and Simple design! The deck is not covered with docks for Cameras and 900 other BS attachments. KISS . The Construction is totally there. Torn between Atoll and IRocker Blackfin XL .... i am 6'1 240 lbs... i want to take a dog out and some light gear... Have been leaning toward the Blackfin... curious for Anyones opinions!
@@funnyfail3909 Those Blackfin XLs seem like a really great choice! You mind if I ask what made you choose that over the Atoll? I'm torn and trying to decide this week. Love that cooler too! Thanks for your reply!
@@ChristopherRobin58 dont remember for sure, I know blackfin comes with better bag and pump (I know that isn't a huge deal, but I figure if the accessories are better, that may be a reflection on board as well. I think I remember xl has higher weight carry limit, I like how it looked more. I watched a Ton of videos before I bought, it probably out performed in areas like stability (1 of my biggest concerns). That said, I know some 1 with Atoll, Nd they like it also... I did also buy my xL during blackfriday sale for 40% off
Very well done video man, editing was on point. Thanks for the tip about the Gopro, that's gonna give me some sick footage/pics. Enjoy that warm weather before it's gone!
I loved you video, Duncan, very informative, convencing and entertaining! I was hesitating between iRocker and Atoll, needing to purchase 2 paddle boards for my children, and an electric pump. Went with my gut feeling and chose the Atoll. Ordered 2 days ago and one of 2, the beige one, has been already shipped to Québec, Canada. The blue is back order, somewhere in May. Can't wait to try it on the Saint Lawrence River with à pretty strong current - next to where I live. This summer would be my 2nd season paddling, and watching you going different places, gives me the itch to explore other les conventional venues. Your video in NY is awesome!
This board is really cool. It would be even better if it had a handle on the nose. In early spring or autumn, you really don't want to wet your feet to pull the sup ashore. You also need a ring from the bottom of the nose. So that you can tow the board.
I think so too. When I don't want to get my feet wet in the cold months, I just grab it with 2 hands and drag it on shore. It's really light. I'm personally glad there's no front handle, that would get in the way of my action camera. ha I know not everyone cares about the cam though.
Hey Doc, l just paddled around Iceland in water temps below freezing with a new Atoll. I now own 4. Love them. Right now I’m on the way to Gulf Shored, AL to paddle at the beach and I brought my original board shown in this video. It’s still an amazing board. Have them pump it up for you to check out. I’d be confident in the purchase.
Should I buy this for just general paddling? I want to fish too but I want one solely for fishing and one for just messing around with - being the atoll.
Hey man, it could serve either purpose. I use my Atoll for many different things. I have went fishing on it. There are probably other boards better designed specifically for fishing, but those wouldn't be good for general use. You can use the Atoll for both though. I've went fishing without a rod holder and with one on the Atoll. Both ways are great. Any specific questions I didn't answer?
@@ohnobo14 You the man! You two will love everything about them. If you don't mind, use www.goatoll.com/ to order, that way I'll get a few dollars for helping. If you have any other questions, let me know! I'm happy to help!
The Atoll would do you great. I've done all these: Rivers, Bays, Lakes, Exploring. I just took a glance at the NRS and from what I see, it's lacking in functionality. There are only two bands up top, which wont hold much. There are no rings on the back to add more storage capacity. If you're going to be exploring, you'll need to carry gear. The NRS looks like it wont carry much gear, compared to the Atoll that will carry a truck load. 215 lbs is not a problem, watch this video of the atoll being ran over by a truck: ua-cam.com/video/Kd_TUPg-SO8/v-deo.html
Awesome! Let me know once you'll visit Ukraine for standup paddling. I could share the masterpiece location spots to make your trip much more memorable.
