Wow. I bought Techsoup's Office 2019 over a year ago and have tried to download it off all that time. I just about gave up thinking I will stay with Office 2016 until I saw this video. Thank you. It finally worked! I have Office 2019 now!
I will reiterate what others have said... THANK YOU!!! I was about to give up and tell the non-profit to step back to Office 2016. My wife is the current president and I had some computer courses years ago so I was "volunteered" to install their Office software. The instructions provided by Microsoft and TechSoup were clearly written for a current IT professional and to confusing for me to follow. As a desperate last attempt to install their TechSoup acquired software I did a Bing search and found your video. 30 minutes later I had the 1st computer done! It turns out you are using your knowledge to help MANY nonprofit organizations. So again, THANK YOU!!!
12:38 i did all what you said, but it gives me this error "we couldn't find the specified configuration file. check the file path and file name" help please. notice: i'm trying to installing Office LTSC 2024.
Thank you very much for this video tutorial, i followed it step by step and now i'm running on Office 2019, and it was effortless. Thank you ever so much for this, you saved me an enormous amount of time, did not have to read up on anything.
Invaluable. Thank you so much! Not only were the narrative and visuals spot on but your comment at 1:20 strikes a blow for all us semi-literate computer types :)
in step 5 when i try to run the command setup /download configuration.xml it downloads file named Office, but the issue is the size of the file does not start increasing it stops at 24 KB. i saw your file reaches 1.9 GB, but mine stops at 24 KB. and then the last step which is running the command setup / configure configuration.xml does not work . any solution please
Interestingly I had that same issue the other day. I think they are having issues with their servers. I just kept trying and eventually it downloaded. I think I finally just let it sit for a few hours when when I came back it was downloaded.
@@DedicatedManagers the file has reached 1.88 GB, but another issue happened which is the last step setup / configure configuration.xml does not work. same that error which says no internet
I looked at you video on Office 2019 Standard and i change configuration file to configuration.xml.xml still getting error message on internet service or no disk space.
I have office standard 2019 installed in this way a while ago, now I want to install Access 2019 and I must do it the same way, my question is, should I install the odt again in another location, and use another xml file or should I use the same location and edit in xml file?
This was a lifesaver as I am currently downloading Office 2019 for a nonprofit. I am running into that horrendous error message on two of the 4 computers when I configure though, any idea why?
When I went to 'Edit' the config file, I got an error message that said I needed an app to perform this action. Please install an app, or if on is installed create an association in the Default Apps Settings page. Suggestions?? And my config file looks different than yours does on the video.
Can you open Notepad on your computer? Notepad is a standard app on Windows. You should be able to edit it in there. Also how is the config file different?
@@DedicatedManagers Thanks for your response. Figured out. Your image of the config file looked like it had some writing or image on it; mine was just blank.
Thank you so much for your help, but my non-profit pet rescue doesn't have internet access, so I can't use Office 2019, but 2016 would work fine. I know there's a way to install 2016, is there any way you could explain how to write the configuration.xml to download and install Office 2016?
After downloading the ODT, I opened a command prompt and went to the setup directory (C:\Users\___\Downloads) and used the command "setup.exe /download configuration.xml", after the folder named "Office" was done downloading, would using the command "setup.exe /configure configuration.xml" install Office 2019 to that folder named "Office" or would it figure out it's own place to put itself? (As you can see, the config I used was the one I posted above.)
Also, if it will install to the downloads folder, where does office usually install itself when buying off the Microsoft store or from their website, for example? (A custom file path would be nice!)
@@j4ck1eX3 Thanks for the question. I'm not an expert on ODT. I would have to do some research. I think you'd get a good answer to your question if you posted it on a forum like StackExchange.
Helpful now that TechSoup has deleted the page that describes the process! Why they did that, I don't know, but I noticed they are trying to drive people to pay for tech support. Conspiracy or not, certainly no normal nonprofit people will be able to figure out the install process without instructions.
Interesting… there’s still something here: www.techsoup.global/content/office-2019-download-guide Maybe they just revamped their website / links and didn’t do a good job of linking to previous content locations.

Question...
Does it works with language „de-de“ too?
Great vid! 👍
Thanks for the compliment.
I believe all the technical stuff should hold up in a different language.
