Awesome video teaching the secrets and tools of car trim restoration! The profile gauge is genius, as is using pieces of cutting board to make implements. Thank you for the class
Just FYI, it's UHMW. It stands for "Ultra High Molecular Weight" plastic. Kitchen cutting boards are usually the cheapest source of it, if you try to buy sheets of it or other shapes of it you will find it very expensive (like through Grainger). There is a book out there called "How to Restore Metal Auto Trim" by Jeff Lilly. Its the only book I am aware of on repairing metal auto trim, in case that is helpful to anyone.
Mrs Richards: " I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) " That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

Great video, need to do some trim work on my 46 Chevy coupe ! 👍🏻✌
Question, what's the best way to remove grinder marks from trim ! That's the worst on mine !
Do you think you could do a video fixing backup lights? Asking for a friend.🤪😏🤞
Warm the metal. Warm metal does not keep its memory
I've not heard of that.
using sockets will get it better... don't be perfect.. but darn close
