Me knowing Dazai will kill him: “You sure about that one m8?” But tbh thats literally his philosophy. “No Longer Human” He can’t feel such things as love or emotions that normal humans do. If we are being honest I am happy for the fact that dazai let chuuya die. This completly represent his character. And I especially loved it because I finished the book a week ago
Dazai doesnt completely not feel love or emotions, this much is clear with oda, he sure does lack it but there are very few people in his life he actually feels emotion for, one of them perhaps being chuuya, he was quite visibly upset finding out abt chuuyas sudden appearance and even in the latest chapter. I dont think chuuya is going to die or not yet atleast
@@avery5160 Well dazai always looks “happy” as well. Of course that doesn’t mean just because someone looks “happy” they actually are. And for dazai’s case this is even more extreme. Even in the book it was implied that Obo( Protaganist of No longer human) implied to be practicly emotionless. He simply “understand” the feelings consepts but he can’t actually feel them. And this book is Dazai’s philosophy. By being on ADA’s side he is simply doing Oda’s wish. And even with Oda the reason he was so friendly with him is because of Oda’s nature. His morally humanism made Dazai want to know and understand everything about him. That is the reason why Dazai made Oda’s wish come true. Like I said, Dazai simply can’t feel anything. Instead he mimics human emotions to look more “human”. He literally is “No Longer Human”
@@revenge0028 I don't think youre really getting what im saying, also yes dazai is based on the protagonist of no longer human, but he isn't the character. Its very clear he does feel emotion, he does feel emotions for poeple he's close with such as oda, this I feel is even more evident through beast, though I haven't read that ik dazai practically created a whole new life for himself and everyone around him just so oda would live, theirs more to that aswell but idk if you've read so I don't want to spoil. If dazai were emotionless, he'd never be genuinly shocked, never be angry or dislike anything or like anything, he'd never be lazy, or excited, he'd never be motivated or lonely. He isn't completetly emotionless because alot of those emotions are what he has shown in the series even if it were slightly, he LACKS emotion and morality, and thats why he feels theres soemthing he's missing, that in itself is an emotion. Theres still a difference between the characters and the authors or characters theyre based one, since they're based on them, they arent the character themselves. He's a sociopath might I add
