Ridgid has been killing it with their invitation of cordless tools
Logan P me and all the guys I work with use rigid and beat the shit out of there tools everyday I see a lot of trash talking on rigid on youtube idk why
This is the dawn of the Dual 18V units. A dual 18V 10" miter saw will eventually come out. Currently under AEG branding. I hope they make a dual18V brushless vac.
tensazero AEG here in Australia we have a duel 18v vacuum love this thing it's awesome.
This would be perfect for my Daughter's air brushing she does at cons and other on site events. I like your idea for making it a hybrid by making a wall adapter that slides on but personally I'd like to see a spot for an extension cord to plug in and have it also powering an on board charger. Plug it in and it is also charging the batteries. unplug the extension cord and the dual batteries are all charged and ready to go.
really neat and compact id use it in my truck...no more gas hassle depending on the type of usage
theres a weird irony about thanking Lowes for supporting today's video featuring a Ridgid tool.
Rigid is full of nice surprises. like the cordless trim router and the cordless miter saw. I feel like they don't get the credit they deserve. Thanks for shedding the light. #tiacrew
Would be pretty cool to have in the back of your truck that way you could blow/clean your tools out at the end of the day . Thanks for the vids !!
I see in the future DeWalt coming out with a bigger cordless air compressor that uses the flex volt system.
Are you a fucking
All tanks, with in a specific size rang, used for pressurization require a hydrostatic test date or expiration. Not a big deal on these given the size and pressure of this. Moisture is its only enemy. Tank will last longer than the motor. I buy almost exclusively Ridgid now, can't beat their warranty. Just don't forget to register.
Very handy. I like the little touches like a ball valve for the tank drain.
I'm rocking with ridgid. Can't beat it.
With that said, this wouldn't power a small airbrush. They actually use a lot of air and it has to be pretty steady. But, camping, tailgating, tubing, paintball & airsoft structures, swimming pool floats... a lot of uses off grid outside the tool world. It's pretty cool and it's the first dual battery tool I have seen. Which creates opportunity for tool companies to get 36v and go ape shit with battery powered creations.
Milwaukee needs to come out with one soon
Good job Rigid in your selection of pressure gauges! A gauge with more than twice the max rated pressure makes perfect sense! lol!
I love the idea but having the ability to plug an extension cord into this would have been awesome.
Nick Lehnhoff all the companies that use battery need to copy dewaults plug in battery adapter. so you don't even need hybridization of specific tools. just turn the battery pack into a plugin
Cool idea I just wish like others have said it had the option for Ac power. The other thing that is more for me is they made it a quiet compressor the sound of a Roliar is music to my ears compared to a ear screamer.
deffently thinking outside the box on this one as i say go big or go home but its a step in the right direction anyway
Wow that would come in handy
The future is going to be a cordless world. Very cool how the evolution of power tools has come in the last 5 years excited to see what's to come #tiacrew
If you want to go portable and still use normal nail guns, you should try out a co2 tank system. They are extremely light and quiet, since there's no motor making noice. I can typically shoot around 500 finish nails on a single 20oz bottle.
I agree with Dan, they should have include a AC cord attachment, that would charge the batteries too. #tiacrew
Awesome. I think it's a really great idea to be sure but my Rolair is da bomb! Thanks guys!
Yw man!
Nice air compressor, I only use Ridgid pipe cutters and pipe wrenches. This would work great out on the lake for inflatables. Thanks T.I.A.
I think it's a great idea. Having been to the International Builders show and speaking with manufacturers like Dewalt and Milwaukee, none have information on possible 23G Pinner in production. For those of us in fine trim work and cabinetry the cordless Nailers out are only so usefull. At best they are semi reliable, when dealing with expensive pre finished pieces you want every Brad etc to be reliably sunk. Makita's Pinner can't do that. I like it, but it's always a compromise. Dewalt Brad nailer...same deal. I bought and returned Milwaukee's... Just not reliable enough. This compressor could be the start of a great move. Hopefully a corded adapter comes out...even better a Dewalt flex volt version. SOLD
Arif I had the Ridgid and Milwaukee cordless 18 gauge nailer. both unreliable. both went back to the store and I put my pneumatics back in the trailer. some tools just aren't ready for sole battery power.
awesome man! Flexvolt will hot that up with a pancake I'm sure
Are you from the future? Because DeWalt just released their 2.5 gallon FlexVolt pancake 7 months later...
Seriously, they should have made this hybrid power. If they had, I'd consider replacing my DeWalt D55140 one gallon compressor. But as is, I'm not heavily invested in the Ridgid 18V platform, and don't want to tie up all my batteries on a compressor.
Doresoom Reviews when I saw this I assumed it was... It would be a no brainer if this was hybrid. heck... bonus points if it charged batteries when plugged in.
version 2.0
Damm ridgid from out of nowhere lol.. I guess u sometimes do need the smaller guns for certain situations, or maybe you just don't wanna carry huge cordless nailer around
Dan I agree with you 100% with all these "specialty" tools I would like to these manufacturers come out with an AC adapter like what the 120 Flexvolt tools. This would expand the audience of the tools, i.e. I personally lean towards the corded version as I know it will always work, this compressor might not fall into that category as 10 years I am sure there will be some newer tech out by then, but a miter saw that's big $$ to have it be a paperweight in the future if the batteries get discontinued.
Other than that I love the review and am really liking the Rigid line up, they definitely seems to be catering to the DIY/Homeowner with there tools.
2 batteries for 1200 nails . i think will stay with by cordless nailers My grex 18 guage finish nailer is awesome and they are coming out with a 22 ga micro pinner this summer .
Great video! I need to get one of these Rigid compressors but right now I'm a little short on coin. I plan on getting one soon. The taller guy looks like Chevy Chase!
You guys should compare the Ridgid to the DeWalt Flexvolt cordless air compressor. I would love to see that comparison! 👍
With nailers going cordless I hardly see the need for this tool.
Sorry, I do like Rigid but will have to pass on this one.
gimmicky!
pneumatic is more powerful in certain situations. I have the dewalt 20v 16g nailer and its awesome, until I tried to shoot 2" nails into hickory end grain. It could not do it and I had to pul out my small compressor and pneumatic to complete it.
+JosEmanuel Gomez .. Stop thinking only of yourself. While a battery-powered nailer or whatever is nice, you can't also inflate tires, an inflatable boat, or similar with that. That diversity creates "the need" for this compressor.
JosEmanuel Gomez
agreed. This compressor is dam near useless. use a cordless nailer vs this compressor. Not big enough to fill a tire in under an hour.
It's cute.
for fine finishing work you cannot use ANY of the cordless nailers on the market. Just the sheer size makes this impossible. Not many cordless 23 gauge nailers around either.
Very niche market, but innovative for sure. Might be worth it for the home owner or hobbyists.
+Jeffry Kieffer .. Or RV owners who want a strong jack-of-all-trades (tires, tools, etc) compressor in one relatively compact package.
Holy crap... too bad I am not using their battery system... dewalt needs to have one too
+Louis Y .. I have a mix of Dewalt (drills, inpact drivers, band saw, angle grinder, etc) and Ridgid (compact router, palm sander, belt sander, etc) cordless tools. Allows me to select the best or unique of both. What either doesn't have, the other likely will. This compressor, which Dewalt doesn't have (and I also use for tires, an inflatable boat, etc), is just one example.
great approach for girl friends too... lol
You're in luck - DeWalt just released the DCC2560T1, a 2.5 gallon FlexVolt compressor.
might be good for doing touch up paint on stuff as well
I like the idea of being able to grab this and go air up my tires with out having to drag my air hose or even the compressor out of the garage. #TIACREW
I love it I'm a hvac tech I can use use on my pm
Its a very nice idea, Dewalt should do thing like that.
Dewalt need more cordless tool like cordless sander, cordless router, cordless fan and why not goodie like the makita coffee maker
Finally a video!!! This is really cool. Dewalt laptop would be awesome and the battery would actually last..lol
I agree how come they do not make a battery with the cord attachment
This thing is sweet!!!
I think it is great and with the famly of tools with it. Good if you have multiple veicals atvs jeeps motor homes boats with trailers. I would take on vacation or job site.
I have been trying to find out if this could be in the works but no one has been able to give me a definetive answer. A two battery table saw would be awesome.
i hope milwaukee will make one biger and better
Would like to know why a Ridgid battery operated air compressor will not start with full charge battery
AC battery adapters have to put out a high amperage which batteries can already provide. The problem is that an AC adapter to put out that high an amperage for the tool has be larger and is more expensive. It is not practical or cost effective to sell an AC adapter with such a large transformer.
Pretty cool
I think its a few years to late with the cordless nailers that's out now but as a inflator and other small jobs would be handy.I do like it and I want one. #TIACREW
Is this air compressor stronger the the dewalt cordless compressor? I use it to fill up low truck tires from 70 psi to 110 psi. How long does it take to fill a tire from 70 or 80 psi to 110 psi ?
The cost of manufacturing a brushed motor is the same as brushless it's their tooling stock & supply that's behind some still producing brushed products..
I don't know why these aren't more common! that would be so much better than dragging a "portable" air tank around... if only i had money... lol Also, i havn't been here in a while, did you redo the shop? its looking good!
Whoa! Chevy Chase...very cool
Badass
Please tell some off your Ridgid contacts they need to come out with a cordless table saw.
Come on Milwaukee!
lollol...I love having a nail drive in a half inch short - they couldn't send u a brad nailer? And if you have one, why didn't you use it? Cuz that's all this compressor is good for at 1-gallon. Or airing tires, but kinda big for that.
this is nice !!!
is your winter over there in your hometown? I'm ready for lawn equipment week.
it was warm today but still winter
As a model railroader who airbrushes at 15 to 30PSI, I'd like to know if this would work. We need zero moisture output and a steady airflow without any pulsing. Anyone know if it would work for us?
hmmmm I think you would be good
Probably this comment is bit late, but for airbrushes, I do not recommend above one.
That's too noisy, too expensive, and it has about enough power to supply just 1 airbrush. Of course, not mentioning the run time.
I recommend California Air Tools brand one. Powerful, reasonably priced, and very quiet.
Things like below
www.homedepot.com/p/California-Air-Tools-1-0-Gal-Light-and-Quiet-Steel-Tank-Electric-Portable-Air-Compressor-1P1060S/300500747
www.homedepot.com/p/California-Air-Tools-2-0-Gal-1-0-HP-Ultra-Quiet-and-Oil-Free-Aluminum-Tank-Air-Compressor-2010A/205910463
First one would be perfect for modeling works. But if you are going to do some general works as well, second one would be better.
(FYI, first one's noise level is 56dB. Second one is 60dB. Ridgid one is 77dB)
By the way, pulsing can be solved by having a tank. So any compressor with air tank won't have pulsing problem.
But the moisture has nothing to do with compressors. It's whether air has moisture or not.
Whether you use big engine powered air compressor, small battery powered air compressor, or just hand pump, if air has moisture, you WILL get moisture. It just condenses when compressed. So, get moisture trap on the air line.
If you are going to use the compressor indoor, where the air is relatively dry, then you might not need that, though.
Are they selling it
Why is everyone here asking how many nails it can do and then whining because it can't do enough? There's OTHER uses for compressed air, guys. Rattle guns, tyre inflation, airbrushing and painting, dremels and small cutting tools, inflating big things like rafts or pool toys, or simply blowing dust out of tools and equipment. I'm getting this so I can blow out my PC and keyboard without unplugging everything and carrying the PC out to the shed. And if the ute gets a flat tyre in the paddock, I could carry this unit out to inflate it, rather than having to either bring the flat tyre back home with me, or use the tractor to bring the big compressor AND a generator to power it.
where's the Milwaukee or Dewault
About how many framing nails can you use for two 5 amp hour batteries? How did it run with framing nails?
no, not enough pressure
then it's pretty much useless.
The new DeWalt FlexVolt compressor can handle short framing runs. I put up three 8' sections of wooden privacy fence on one battery, shooting around 40 3" nails, and 300 2" nails.
still no new hats on the side get on it guys. keep teasing with them on your head. great video
Yes, sorry next week for sure
That's a cool idea 💡 #KrugerFam #We❤️Tools #mondonation👤 #DamnYouJimboSlice #TIACREW #TonyVolts⚡️ #oztooltalk #ourbuild #🛠tooltoucher #glasseyi👁 #teamtoolpig #knarlycarl #rutterconstruction #DoYourBestWork #adefam✅ #TakePoint
Sweet
Woooooaaaaaaaaaaa amazinnnnggg
site*
You stated the specs when it was running and we could not hear you!!!! Take note of things like that when you are filming.
your worried about 150? im getting a paintball tank that holds 4500 PSI
Damn
As a plumber I could use this. However I don't want another battery type. Use this to test boiler piping. Milwaukee needs this next
Brian A never even thought of the plumber use. Right now when the plumbers need to test their roof stacks they string cords and haul the compressor on the roof but with this no need for all the cords.
Brian A I'm a plumber/pipe fitter as well, mainly commercial, and having a cordless compressor for testing would be a God send, especially on jobs without power, or on large jobs where laying out a couple 100 ft of cord is a pain in the ass. I want one of these.
Brian A get a ryobi 20 dollar inflator
the last tool i will ever buy will be a ryobi.... anything.... the ideas is to have one battery ecosystem. and of all the power tools i will ever by a ryobi is the lowest on the list. pure junk
totally agree! I've learned that you can tell what a guy is doing on the job just based on the color of his tools. Electrical & Plumbing = RED. Woodworking and fine finish work = Yellow. If you see orange it's the homeowner trying to act like he knows what he's doing
can it run airbrush.. Thanks.
Yes, but will run a lot if you are doing a lot of spraying
Seriously? Nuclear powered drill? You guys obviously don't understand how nuclear power is harnessed.
Sit down, relax, it was a joke, if you thought it we were serious and got upset you need to be on meds.
Tools In Action
Who said that I was upset? It didn't sound like you were joking. 🤔
Tools In Action Got my meds now, they must not work because you guys still sound really stupid.
Rudy?
cani fit it in a backpack
I'm in the market for an air compressor but that is too small and just won't cut it. Nice little toy though. For a little more you can get the Rolair JC10 that is light years better than this little guy.
8th!
must be nice, to have money to throw out tools lol
Its actually 36 volts because it's using two 18 volt batteries..
Two over talker
This is so stupid. I thought that the miter saw and table saw were the dumbest cordless tools. This is absolutely the worst idea of them all. CORDLESS IS ONLY GOOD IF YOU NEED TO BRING THE TOOL TO THE WORK.
fancy which alot of people do and is obviously the market for these tools.
SFoperator 275 You obviously don't understand. Tools that you bring to the work;
Drill
Skilsaw
router
reciprocating saw
Tools that you bring the work to;
Table Saw
Miter Saw
Shaper
You're a bit obtuse.......
fancy yeah and nailers. lol! idiot
Tommy Tench Yes, nailers. Not compressors stupid
fancy you're a moron! what if you have a full set of pnuematics and do punch list work all day? there's a market for this thing; it's clearly not meant for jabronis like you that sit around all day doing nothing!
