Do you know what I have noticed? I suspect they are artificially increasing "watch" and "cart" numbers. All of a sudden, every single thing I click I get a pop up saying "there are 10 others watching this item" or "2 others have this in their cart" which I don't buy. Especially on scam items like junk wax cards from the 1980's that have slight defects and they are asking $20K for the card and they want me to believe 308 people are watching?
I haven't noticed this but I do not put this past eBay. Anything they can do to artificially increase the "perceived" demand whether real or not real to strike up a bidding war or offer war, I do not put past these money hungry goblins. Since 2020 I have been so turned off by greedy disgusting coorporations like this I really don't doubt anything like this is possible.
When it comes to Gov't or big business when I don't have the answer I generally defer to it being about money. So you're probably spot on Tyler. Appreciate the info and heads up.
I'm waiting for class action lawsuit for fees attached to taxes on sells. The sellers should be charged fees on what the tax rate is. I really hate the monopoly of ebay thats why they said first to market always good.
You can determine a "base" amount (the actual # has to be higher but how much would be an estimate, how many sellers sold 2+ cards) which is $3,925,817.31 and that would be at least a base guide to compare to other players etc. I am not sure how accurately this would track the trend but I think it would give you an idea of what is happening. Regarding the meeting where this was decided, IMO the Board opted to go along with the advice of AI.
