- Today I've got a review of the ESR Halolock Magsafe Car Mount. Like last year ESR sent this out to me and I was happy to do a review for them as I've enjoyed working with them. This is a great and affordable option if you're looking for a Magsafe compatible charging mount for the car. i’m glad your comparing it to the other one cause on amazon the only difference that i can see is the price. it’s all the same pictures and details for some reason but one of them says updated model
Excellent video ! I am interest in the functionality of the pivot. I have vents in my oldtimer that are very 'light'. As soon I had attached another brand of charger together with my iPhone 13 Pro, the vents fall down. Do you think that this pivot might help in keeping the vents more open and allow my iPhone to be in a vertical position instead of bending over ?

After seeing your video just ordered the same on Amazon India along 20 watt adapter dual port . One port for this MagSafe and another C type port for to charge another phone or car dash cam .

Thanks. looks like a very good mount/charger.. Can you plug the USB end into the car? Therefore charging AND activating Apple CarPlay?

Amazing video I was wondering if you would will recommend ESR Wireless magnetic charger I see that you did this video a little over a year ago I was wondering if you are still happy with this product or do you have something else you will recommend I have an iPhone pro 13 max
@Felix Laboy - Hey so I did videos on both the old version and the new version of the charger and both are great. However if you’re going to be buying one now then get the newer version since it’s got a more compact design. I use the Apple battery pack as my car charger (done a video on that too) but if you’re looking for a dedicated charger then this is great. @Hemal Shah - Thank you for the feedback brother! You should be fine but what I suggest is that you mount it on one side of the vent instead of the middle, that way the vent won’t keep moving around as you drive. @Van Perski - My method is the one from previous video but not everyone will do that. This was just sent by esr so I did the video for them and it is a good product.
What do you think of this compare to you last method with magsafe battery pack

What is the difference in the air from the Cryoboost vs just the car vent air? Isn't it the same thing? Thanks
@Beraberg Films - The cryoboost continuously blows out air to keep the mount cool vs the traditional one which doesn’t do that.

Where can i find the updated slim version as the link you put in the descirption box is for the old version.. in the comments of amazon people show the old version in photos
And the name for the old and new version is the same

Hi. May i ask between the new & old model, the new (smaller) model holds the phones better right? (I’m not an English speaker so i need to ask to confirm 😬)

@Apparently Ayla - No they haven’t sent that yet….try using the Apple MagSafe battery pack as a car charger, it’ll do that and go with you anywhere. I just recently did an entire video on it.
Is it mandatory to have a MagSafe cover in order to keep it strong or will work the same without ?
Lately I don't use any phone cover / case so I'd really like to know about this.
You haven't mentioned anything about fast charge. I find on the internet both versions 10w or 15w and I am not sure.
@Razvan loan Anastasescu - Hi you don’t need a MagSafe cover but that’s only if you have a MagSafe iPhone 12/13 model since they have the magnets built in. As for fast charge this isn’t compatible with iphone since it’s not a certified product but for other devices like android, it will charge at up to 15W. @YILMAZ KAYA - This is definitely a good choice the only other option I’d recommend is the MagSafe charger by apple, I have it mounted to my own car mount and that’s what I use. If I’m not using the MagSafe charger I also use the battery pack as my car charger which I demonstrated in this video: ua-cam.com/video/OFn6c-zN0KQ/v-deo.html

@Mick - No it’s doesn’t but there is a subtle light on the side to show the status and I’ve shown that in the video.

@Ic guy - Yes you can use it with android devices.

@ken ark - Yeah it can charge via wireless charging but you’d need to have a way to stick it onto the charger. Maybe find a MagSafe case otherwise use one of those MagSafe rings. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.
Why is noone reviewing these things with different cases? Can the magnets hold the phone through a thich case?
@ZP DUZGHR - It’s a MagSafe product made for MagSafe compatible cases. Standard case would simply not work, even if you have a thin case it wouldn’t be strong enough to hold it when you go over bumps etc.

CarPlay supported?
@Sameer Khan - If you place your phone on this charger then plug in your cable for car play the phone is smart enough to not charge via CarPlay and it will stick to the first charging source. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊.

@Jac Gell - If you have wireless car play then yes but otherwise you can’t charge via this and also plug in car play. For car play I’d recommend going for a regular MagSafe mount and then just using the usb to charge and connect. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽.

How do I go about wireless car play for my 2019 f150?
@Julio Rodriguez - For wireless car play you don’t need to worry. You could either get this or just do the MagSafe battery pack hack I showed. I personally like that better.

Yup that’s come out recently and I haven’t received a review unit of it yet.
Does it work with CarPlay
@wayne beese - If you put your phone on here first and then plug it in for CarPlay you’ll be fine because your iphone won’t take charge from both. With that said I’d recommend just a standard MagSafe mount if you have CarPlay as you’ll be able to charge just as efficiently and there won’t be the added hassle.
