I use the g43 for my Wilcox riser to be able to co-witness my backup iron sights on an sbr.
So when is the Tan G45 gonna launch it’s April 25 and nothing yet???
I went with the G45 STS to compliment the EXPS3-4 and it's a really nice combo if I do say so myself. :)
Do you think the extra 5X magnification was needed and a better compliment to the 1X than the G43 or do you think the lighter 3X could work just as well.
@@John333Scout
I'm sure 3X works fine, as shown in this video but in my personal experience, I can better utilize the EXPS3-4 with 5X. To be honest, 5X isn't that much stronger. The 4 dot reticle benefits from the extra magnification IMO. There's not much weight difference between the G43 and G45.
What backup iron sights are you running if you have any? So they co witness or are they 1/3?
Not even gonna lie, just bought the G45 to pair with my EXPS3 for my 10.5" 300BLK. Call me crazy but I will primarily be running supers and I definitely will be taking it out 200+ yards.
I would like to get a G45 with the unity magnifier mount and then a Unity fast mount for my EXPS3-0. Would be pretty sweet on my SAIGA.
what is the exit pupil on the G43 Magnifier ?? or the g45 ?
Release date for tan??? Social media has been saying “soon” for a couple months now 😅
Went with the g45sts and exps3-4 on a tavor x95 16.5
What iron sights are you running if you have any? Do they co witness or 1/3?
I know xps is co witness, but with magnifier doesn't mount not align because it's 1/3?
The mount has spacers to make it 1/3. You don’t have to use them if you do t need them
what about the G45 on a 11.5 5.56 like the SIG MCX SPEAR LT??
It would work great. Might be a bit much magnification, depending on how much FOV you want to maintain, but it would be beautiful.
I purchased the G43 for my 12.5, I'm wondering did i make a mistake?
no? g43 is a 3x and g45 is a 5x. you pay for what you get. That saying is it really comes down to what its intended to be used. Like, if its for hunting then yes, if its for home/yard defense then no but that to is a preference so its really up to how it feels to you knowing the differences.
So because i have a 16" the G45 is preferred, Ive never really used scopes and dont have a good feel for what kind of magnifier i need. I just know with the basic Holo sight at 1X magnification that to get any use out of more range, I would need a magnifier. Where i currently live i couldnt see me need more than the G43 but if i want to go to the ranger and have some fun at longer distances then it almost seemed the the 3X wasnt that much better and the 5X would be much more useful.
Anyone with more hands on experience want to help a bro out
To be honest, if you’re going to actually NEED 3x, on this optic, 5x would be just as useful as the engagement distances you’d actually want to flip up the 3x if that makes sense.
What I’m saying is if you actually need magnification you’re better off with 5x, for engagement distances when an EOTECH is concerned
@@ViktoriousDead so if i am getting what you are saying. If there are targets at a range where i would need magnification the 5X would be just as useful at that range as the 3X and as they get further the 5X is obviously better, but where the 5X may become cumbersome (meaning the target is too close) and id actually want to flip it down to 1X rather than having a 3X on.
So in summary the 3X range is covered by the 5X in lets say mid range but 3X cant do longer range as well as the 5X and in closer ranges im not going to be using the 3X or 5X so to cover myself more for all situation and more versatile overall, i should just get the 5X?
@@user-bg5ty6ul5m i have not actually pulled the trigger yet (no pun intended lol). I was waiting for the attachment clip to get back in stock and now its so far from my bday idk if I can consider it a gift for myself anymore lol
think i'm going to have to get a G43 to match my EXPS on my AR
Will the G45 in black be available without the mount as well or just the tan one?
But why not 4x is the questions.
too much magnification and the reticle starts obscuring everything in the narrower FOV
@@123asap6no it doesn’t, not with holographic optics such as the eotech. The reticle stays the same size regardless of magnification.

@@123asap6notice how the reticle is the exact same size in comparison to the tree as it was unmagnified. Plus, yeah go to any source and look up how holographic optics work lol
Should optics match color of gun?
I feel like that is personal choice on ascetics. I personally think that all one color looks good and if you have only one thing say on a black fun in that brown color it would look off but say your holo and stock are brown and the rest of the gun is black, that could look nice mix and matching. I think it only looks off if everything is black then one little item isnt may seem odd. Id just recommend go to google see other build and guns and search the Eotech's attachments on them and see what you like and better suits your gun
So the red dot does not magnify but the 68MOA donut does? What kind of black magic is this?
The laser is emitting a fraction of the size of what your eye can resolve - let's say 1/3 MOA and your eye can only resolve 1 MOA. When you magnify that 5x it's growing at the same rate but still smaller than the 1 MOA your eye can see.
If the dot doesn't get bigger under magnification, then the size at magnification changes.
2moa at 1x will appear three times bigger at 3x mag, but it's still 2moa.
People kill me with this. Everything is magnified the same amount. The relative size to the target is the same. A 2 MOA Aimpoint dot is still 2 MOA magnified.
Magnification does not increase moa of a red dot in the way you are suggesting (i.e. that a 2moa red dot becomes a 6 moa red dot under 3x magnification). Everything, including the target, is magnified in proportion and your 2moa red dot remains 2moa under 3x (or 5x) magnification.
Not true. You are projecting the dot. So you would have a 8” circle at your target. You sound stupid 😂
@@garrettg2976 you sound like a blowup doll that didn’t make it through first grade math. Your mom. 🦄🌮💩
@@garrettg2976 BGHokie05 is correct. I'm not really sure how to explain this to you, but if you can make it through a class on optics that should clear up your confusion. That, or actually go run the experiment.
Calling people stupid who aren't themselves being arrogant is a bad look. Doubly so if you get it wrong while doing so. I'm sure you can think of some things in your life that might be relevant here.
No red dots when magnified do not hold moa. EOTech - The 1 MOA aiming dot does not expand when viewed with magnification. In tandem with a 3X magnifier, the dot maintains its 1 MOA size, while the target is enlarged 3 times, offering much greater precision.
Typical Red Dot - When an LED dot is viewed through a 3X magnifier, the dot grows by the same factor as the target. Although the shooter will see the target 3X larger, the dot will cover the same target area, providing no additional precision.
@@garrettg2976 so, with 3x magnification 1 MOA holographic dot becomes 0.33 MOA dot
I have a G 45 paired with an EXPS 3-0 on my LWRC m6. Absolutely love it. Even though it seemed like unoptanium to get lol
What backup iron sights are you running if you have any? So they co witness or are they 1/3?
@@rolosnismoz34 I’m running LWRC flip up Skirmish sights for back up.
@@garrettg2976 appreciate the reply back. Does it sit lower 1/3 co witness on the EXPS 3-0? I plan on buying that holo. & does the rear flip up iron sight not hit the magnifier you’re using?
I swear Eotech if you had made a G43 model with the same or similar length to the G33 I would've bought the G43. I returned mine after seeing how bad the Eye relief was with it slightly down my rail since I run backup sights. Seriously missed the mark by an a literal inch.
@@BayanAnavaa it’s longer so it sits closer to your eye. With the 43 you have to break your cheek weld and move your face closer
Heard the G43 sucks. The eye relief is horrible. Better to get a G33 or G45.
Everyone can have their opinion, but we tend to think it's pretty great, and it has almost the same eye box as the G45
Am I the only person who doesn't find 3x all that useful? Went with a Primary Arms 6x on the MCX and am happy with it. I'm not jumping out of planes into SDVs 😂
I agree 3x magnification is completely useless in my opinion I don’t think you get any use outta magnification until 5x-6x that’s why I always just stick to the G45
Imo 3x performs flawlessly within 100yd range. I run a G43 on my MCX Rattler and I think anything more than that for a dedicated truck/home defense PDW would be overkill.
🤷♂️ for most cases I’ll only need 3x if I want more I’ll probably use an lpvo.
Overpriced

What about with an 18 inch barrel . Would these set ups work
Instead of belittling you like some would… I would say the 5x would be better if you really wanted to run this on your setup. However with that much barrel you’d might want to consider taking advantage of the extra bullet velocity and consider a LPVO as an option. Maybe even a medium powered rifle optic. It all depends on what the application of your rifle is since there isn’t a jack of all trades. You will always have to make sacrifices when it comes to what’s achievable
Get the G45 5x. You will not be disappointed. Your eyes are not getting better with age either
