Thanks for watching this one, really appreciate all the early views and comments. This is a new type of video of this channel but something I've been really keen to do. If you'd like to see more of this type of behind the scenes videos can I ask that you share it so that UA-cam gives it the same love as my usual flight review videos. Thanks heaps and happy travels.
A great video Dennis and very grateful to the company to allow you to show us there mechanical operations as I know this goes on 24 hours a day as I use to work at Heathrow AirPort.
Thanks. Yes this is a new one for me and have a couple more coming out in the next few weeks. Trouble will be getting the YT algorithm to like and recommend it. Hopefully these early views and comments will help.
Great Video Dennis its great to see all those hard workers behind the scenes thats lots of people never see . Some people will think its like changing your tyre at the garage but we know tyre its larger and heavier and more technical knowledge is needed, looking forward to more of these types of videos it gives us more insite as to what all goes on with an day to day running of aeroplane.
once an Aviation in the blood..it will always bleeds aviation😃......kudos to the hardworking staff on the ground, operations, engineering, mechanicals etc....travelers owe a lot to you all....thanks Dennis for this wonderful informative video.....cheers!!
Really great video Dennis , Being a real gearhead I love the technical stuff and seeing how things ( particularly taking things apart to see how they work ) are put together ❤ .
Hello Dennis, Wow! Again another really interesting behind the scene 😊 I have a few questions : -How heavy is a wheel of an aircraft? -How often (on average) are they changed? (I understood that there was a alert to change them inside the aircraft system, it's just to make a parallel with car tires😅) It also surprises me that they are not wearing an helmet (the side opening of the wheels felt so close to their head, I was scared they would bump their heads). I hope you will continue those kind of videos that highlights the job of all the part of this industry 😊 Have a great day!
Really interesting video and please do more of this type. I enjoy your other videos and those of your contemporaries, but there's only so many business class seats to review!
Wonderful video - my dad did 45+ years as an Aeronautical engineer post RAAF service. He loved it & after retirement consulted for a few more years. It is an industry you need to devote your life to get the most out of it.
How did Dennis get into this situation? Well his credit card was declined after he drank his inflight duty frees. So this was his alternative method of payment, as there was no standing in for the dishwasher option.
Going to assume you meant 15K USD and not 1500 for new tire? Wouldn't make sense that a reconditioned tire would be 8500 USD while a new one being only 1500.

you nailed it! was worth it though - except the hangover 😂
So I guess that's not the same as my 3 ton jack huh 😊

1500 for the rubber tyre and 8500 for the metal wheel that it mounts on.
I'm surprised that the workers aren't wearing some kind of eyewear in case something flies off when doing matenance.
