Wrapping isn’t the problem. It’s usually just the environment. I got my hair silk pressed 3 years ago and when I walked out, it took walking from the entrance to my car got my hair to look like it was blow dried😭

no ur not the only one and that’s my current struggle. n the salon or at home. once the flat irons are away my hair instantly frizzes and poofs back up. wrapping it at night it looks nice but when I wake up it’s a frizzy mess 😩😣🥺please help me

How do you keep the ends straight after?
I got mine done 3 days ago and im noticing my ends are getting frizzing. I would pin curl it or flexi rod and it would still gett a tad bit frizzy
Uh oh! .. & hmm idk what method my hairstylist used but I didn’t experience any frizz
Next time what I do is put a little bit of oil like a little little rub it in my hands and put on my ends to keep out the humidity
Did you apply any additional heat to your hair throughout the three weeks you maintained the silk press ?
No, I don’t. I literally just kept it wrapped up with the scarf. I believe the method and products my hairstylist used initially really helped with keeping it straight. & I also used the Aquage spray on it every few days.

What products do you use while it's straight? Like what oils/oil sheens if any. How often do you oil your hair while in a silk press?
I use the Aquage beyond shine spray and my biosilk serum once a week

I struggle to keep mine straight for a week 😒 I’m getting my hair silk pressed on nov 26th and I hope to god it lasts til nov 28th without sweating out lol I’m going out so I need it to stay straight so I can take some cute birthday pics.
I am the same way. Luckily it's cold where I live now though so it lasts longer. Your environment is really important to making it last.
How do you deal with your hair when taking a shower? The steam always puffs up my hair even when I put on a shower cap!
I keep it wrapped under a scarf, bonnet, and a shower cap, and tried not to run the water too too hot. Lmbooo we really struggle to keep our hair straight 😭😭😭

I feel you I don't wrap it anymore I use 1 pin to make it like an up do then I out a hair net over it after that remove the pin and throw a scarf on as long as it doesn't get wet it can last for 3wks

What edge control do you use that won’t convert your natural hair??
I didn’t use any edge control on this.
I’m still on the hunt for a good one, but on any other day that I want to lay my edges I use gel and tie it down with a scarf

Can you fix a frizzy silk press?
Add an ant frizz serum and wrap the hair for an hour with a fitted scarf.
