    This video didn't go where I thought it was going. :)
    I'd like to see a comparison of say white, grey, blue, and red sealers with the same top-coat color of blue (not translucent) to see how the sealer affects the same color. Granted you layer on enough top-coat and it'll eventually all get to the same color, but maybe limit it to two layers of top-coat.

    #THANKYOU the difference between little niche UA-camrs and the bigboys and especially in the hobby world is the sponsors are people us the audience are interested in, I was rapped to see these new paints and will be purchasing them and i trust the person selling them bcoz he is in the same hobby so he's opinion is relevant, its hard to trust the big guys who get sponsored by gambling APs thankyou D.R. for your honest review of a relevant product

    • @DiecastResurrection

      Yup they are good for plastic, vinyl, wood etc. Prep your plastic with a red scotch pad and 2 coats of sealer, after 30min lightly scruff with 800 and away you go.

    I'm a newb.
    So, I bought a bunch of different color 6000 Series Autoborne Sealers, plus 4050 UVLS Clear for painting small Metal pieces. Before they arrived. I asked about it in comments of a Createx UA-cam Video. Someone from Createx replied: "The 4050 UVLS Clear is their Direct to Metal Primer. It says it on the TDS Sheet."
    Now I'm bummed cause I just bought all these Autoborne Sealers.
    I just watched your video using 6000 Series Autoborne Sealers on Metal and now I'm totally confused.
    What am I missing here?

    Soooo, what’s the difference between a sealer and a primer? Or is a Createx sealer just another name for paint…

    • @DiecastResurrection
      @DiecastResurrection  2 роки тому +1

      Primer :The first coat of paint applied to a surface, formulated to have good bonding, wetting and inhibiting properties. SEALER: A thin liquid applied to seal a surface, to prevent previous paint from bleeding through from the surface or to prevent undue absorption of the topcoat into the substrate. These createx sealers are formulated to have a strong bond on many types of surfaces like wood, plastic, vinyl, and (galvanized) metal. The word primer typically implies that there is some sort of rust inhibitor for corrosion resistance. These sealers will prime a surface for paint but are not called a primer because there is no protection or inhibitors against rust. Hopefully this makes sense.

    I wonder what you could come up with using something like a yellow flake over the blue sealer, of a red or blue flake over a yellow sealer, if you have a yellow sealer? Or, perhaps something like a yellow sealer with a blue to green flake fade, or a red to orange flake fade? There could be a lot of possibilities with that, depending on what colors of sealer there are and what colors of flake you could get... I am betting a black sealer would look great under some black flake.

It helps with coverage beyond what you would think. The great thing is when sealer is dry you can Dry sand it and give you the best paint job. Have fun

    All the early Datsun's were painted with a lead based red primer before all of the colours were applied over top.
    It has made matching the lighter colours like the Sky Blue almost impossible, we now used RustKill Red Oxide as a primer. Gets the colour as close as possible.
