No way we are pretending that watching a movie whilst on a treadmill is a new thing??? Literally so many treadmills nowadays have tvs on them solely for that purpose????
Right? I always watch TV when I’m on my treadmill. I have it mounted in front of me and also have a screen on my treadmill for iFit.
I def agree it’s not revolutionary by any means, sounds like she just packaged it up with the cute name
I think its the entire idea of putting on comfortable workout clothes (not forcing an aesthetic like many fitness influencers do), and fully engaging your senses to relax (smell good candle, tasty drink, music that affirms peace not pushing to your max, and watching something with love and not something that may trigger insecurity or negative habits for “health”)
@@kelliezee Okay but I literally have been doing THAT for decades because part of my ED recovery was to rethink exercise. Comfy clothes, comfort TV, good vibes, doing it for maintenance... this really isn't new.
I legit just told my husband this 😂
she does not "own" the idea of cozy cardio as its not a new concept but I think its weird that the news channel led Hope on as if she was going to be the main segment, and thats the main issue
Thats also the only issue I see with it. I mean ppl doing some daily sport routines in their PJs all the time, its nothin new😂
This. The fact that they led her on and interviewed her then just didn't use her because of demographics. Also the only thing is that the girl hope did kinda make the name, the # cozy cardio. Like stop calling it cozy cardio and call it your brand at least. And today should have called it a trend name. And pointed out that cozy cardio is a # style and megan made cozy sculpt inspired by it.
@@vvitch-mist20she trademarked it last year apparently
you'll be shocked to know how common this happens whenever a news outlet of some form thinks you're not pretty enough for their segment. I was called in early morning for an interview and even did like a whole photoshoot for it. Only to find out that they cut me off totally in the news. They didnt give me a heads up, no nothing.
@@vvitch-mist20 she has last year
Never heard of cozy cardio until now
Its some bs these girls come up with 😂😂😂 cardio is cardio people trying to come up with shortcuts for real work
I've been doing "Cozy Cardio" and didn't eve know it was a thing??
so u saying ive been doing hardcore cardio all this time?!!!
Me too
Same never heard about cozy cardio until this two got into drama over something that has existed for a while apparently
Create what!!!. They both did not “create it”!
We all had our treadmill and bike station in front of the tv since forever!!!
Insane so shady they could have easily featured both women
Come on now....I knew about cozy cardio or lazy cardio from Pinterest since 2016..nothing new...why are Tiktokers and influencers always so pressed about "their" ideas...at this point we seen it all
agreed
Yh but at the same time this trainer shouldn't have much a big screen time as she was not the one to popularize it
@@holdmacat9932i mean, sure they could go and look which tumblr girly did it first.
It's just a trainer who offers something in that direction. Who cares
I did it because of depression and I called it my lazy workout
Exactly! It's "social" media. They r sharing it on social media. 😂
At this point, it feels word “cozy” is cursed or something
That was a total Kardash grab!!! I feel really badly for her!!! As usual the networks went with the
“Perfect size 4”🙄
That trainer was like a size 2, she didn’t look healthy to me at all
That was my first thought.
That was a total mess for her
@@Kikicolehow did she not look healthy?? I was very healthy most of my adult life at 107-118 pounds & a size 0 to size 2, now in the last year I’ve ballooned to 150 & am extremely overweight, tired all the time with headaches & almost gave myself diabetes. Nothing fits right, I look 10-15 years older in just ONE year & I can’t even tell you how horrible it was to get used to the feeling of my thighs touching when I walk!!! 😫😶
Everyone has a different bone structure & muscle mass, some people are healthy at a size 2 & at 5’1 I’m one of them. Now if I could just get down to my regular size so I can feel alive again 😭 at 154 pounds I look like what other people look like at 220 💀💀💀 it started last April when a new medication made me constantly hungry. I’m not hungry anymore but still waiting for the xtra pounds to magically disappear 😬😐😬🙈
@Kikicole girl you need to chill .. you don't have to comment this on every post
Not to mention, all of us trainers are learning from the SAME certifications! There aren’t a million different ways to get a smaller waist and a big butt I PROMISE! Movement selection isn’t a wide spectrum. It shouldn’t be, simplicity is what delivers results. Fitness influencers just bank on the fact that people don’t realize how simple it can be
Megan Roup has also been sued by Tracy Anderson for stealing her method as well. She used to work as a trainer for TA so this is not the first time she has been called out on stealing someone else's work and calling it her own.
That’s so funny cause the name of her gym and also her look reminded me of Tracy Anderson instantly without even knowing the connection!!
Why am I not surprised about it lol
As an online trainer, I can promise you you’re going to get something very similar from another trainer if you buy a program for the same goals. The industry isn’t meant for this many people banking on the exact. Same. Routines
When in all honesty, we don’t even need trainers or routines. Obviously it’s helpful to have someone making videos in case you get bored but everyone m😅 knows basic workouts + elipticals/treadmills, etc.
@@jennaharrison3163 It is very easy to perform the wrong exercises that can end up worsening your health (especially when it comes to your spine and neck muscles), so you need to have someone with you, yes, you may know how to perform a basic exercise, but you could also end up developing problems such as scoliosis, hyperlordosis and hyperkyphosis and training wrong and no one helps you fix it
@@jennaharrison3163sorry, but no. People can get severely injured by doing something wrong with their body! It’s ok you someone chooses to do their routines by theirselves, but it’s extremely unaware of you imply something your visibly totally uneducated of! The issue is what the professional, who made the first comment, is trying to explain: people don’t need the most expensive professional. If you can’t afford any at all: it’s fine!! But if you can afford it, without compromising other things you have to pay, it’s always a good idea.
@ jennaharrison3163 Actually it’s was good for me to have a trainer because I was doing the wrong workouts for what I needed help with.
@@jennaharrison3163 it depends. A lot of people benefit having someone there to observe form.
I’m not going to justify her stealing content, I can say that I may know why they picked her. I’ve worked in marketing and this happens quite a bit. They picked the fitness influencer bc she fits the viewer demographic majority (aged 25-50+) She’s in her 30s, a working mom of multiple. I’m pretty sure they were aware that Hope was the creator bc they did a feature before, but what’s gonna be more appealing to the audience of 30-40 something yr old working moms? A 20 something girl with no kids that’s anxious at the gym or a 30 something mom of 3 that can’t make it to the gym? Yes, she stole her concept and ran with it. It may have become popularized in her community of moms and such but that does not justify her stealing content and claiming it as her own. As far as the feature on TODAY goes, that’s all marketing. It sucks, but it happens.
That's really insightful, appreciate the perspective.
Yes and the rich and skinny angle will always trump anything else
Yes, this exactly where my thoughts went, thank you!
yeppp. well said
Hope’s “cozy cardio” actually looks cozy. When I first saw it on TikTok I instantly thought, ok that’s something I can do. Megan’s “cozy” is not giving cozy at all, her videos are all aesthetically pleasing and make me feel like I need to be put together before I can start to work out. That’s one of the things I struggle with these influencers.
I mean, at the end of the day, it's just walking in your room while watching tv. I've done it before, a lot of people did it before. She only gave it a name. It's absurd to chase other creators over it, though I understand they could at least give her a little shoutout.
I agree with you 100% but this girl also named it “cozy” something even though I’ve never heard of the name until now I always known abt this my mom used to this all the time since I was like 5 and I’m 25 now
@@Ari-li9cw right? It’s just putting a cardio machine in front of a TV or a laptop. It’s crazy how the internet keeps inventing names for the most random everyday things
Yeah i feel like naming something that's already been created just not named, does not give you any rights to it. No one owes you a shoutout for sharing an idea many already knew.
So many people on Tik Tok are chasing other influencers for creating similar content, claiming they did it first so they should receive credit or a shoutout, and then the comments snap back and tell them they are not the first ones and no one owes them anything. They are looking like 🤡
Stop complaining an idea was "stolen" if you aren't 1000% sure you are the sole creator of said idea.
Naming something does not make a difference.
@@Ari-li9cwI've been doing it for years and called it lazy cardio. Actually even surprised she was able to trademark that name
an influencer is always an influencer, no matter what side of tiktok they are on
I just went to check out Megans tiktok and her comments are off.. says a lot
I am so sorry to break it to you, but she did not invent cozy cardio that has been a thing since the beginning of time 😂 the way people take normal every day things and try to say they invented it
I agree. I have been doing that kind of cardio for over 7 years, there is nothing new about it. I have been calling it lazy cardio though.
Lol yeah, i'm a cancer survior and there are times I still lay in bed while reading while doing leg exercises and yoga moves.
In the Interview she literally said that she saw the Trend happen on tiktok, sooo i don't feel like she just stole it, she didn't even say that it was her idea 😅
It was implied.
@@Kenzinru but she explicitly said that she saw it somewhere else, so that kinda negates that implication
i mean, she could have just mentioned her name because she explicitly left it out. if she had just done that i wouldn’t see a problem with it.
I do think it is then ethical to say from who specifically instead of just "somewhere on tiktok"
@@hadesisbaby what If she didn't know who started it?! There's x many people doing this shit and it could have been all of them that started it 😂 also wasn't it kinda the productions responsibility to make that clear?! She just spoke about herself and thats fine
I never heard of cozy cardio. Also she didn’t invented the concept. She named it but did not invent it. I know people that been working out like that for years in the comfort of their of their at home gym.
Tiktok loves putting on labels on everything, like there's many ways to exercise, why need to micro label everything...
Apparently I stole cozy cardio too since I’ve been doing for a decade wo giving credit several years into the future 💔
It’s something that’s existed for a long ass time if you have the privilege to own gym equipment, which one of the main pluses is being able to wear, watch, do, drink, etc whatever you want & light a candle to cover up your BO while exercising & dim the lights since the gym lights are so bright.
I feel like making it a trademark or claiming you invented it, is like trying to claim something that’s existed for literal years. Just bc you just recently came across it doesn’t mean it’s yours.
Yeah it sucks w the tv station issue but claiming the other creator stole your idea & getting *mad at her* for what the tv station did is garbage.
You don't even know what Megan said off screen. A lot is cut out. Maybe she named the other creator as the founder, but they removed it. In general, the writers and producers etc. of the show are responsible for everything. Not the guest.
Why do we just let people try to profit off basic ass things. Low impact cardio is not new and neither is watching tv, listening to music, etc. while doing it😂
I don’t get it…it’s walking in your room while watching your favorite show/ listening to your fav music…pretty sure many people have done it before. Nothing new, NOTHING.
Haha even the name has been around for +10 years. Tumblr had that stuff back in the days, just in more aesthetic
Taking credits from smaller creators it's a big no no "sUpPoT oThEr WoMen💅💅" -they say
Bb
Everyone wants credit for everything anymore. I'm so over these influencers thinking they own ideas. Imagine thinking that you own an idea that is so simple. Just because you gave it your name does not mean you lay claim.
EXACTLY. And the one comment that said she trademarked cozy cardio and legally deserves it… no girl that’s not how it works
@@jacrispy5125I don't exactly get it. Did she really trademark cozy cardio?
Because I have seen that name years ago already 😂
@@Mimi-sg6fe no she didn’t actually TM it, ppl were just saying that when they don’t know what it means lol
Making something popular is also per the audience, not person. So, them saying the other influencer made it popular is their opinion.
1) this has the same vibe as when gen z “invented” yoga pants again.
2) are we sure this wasn’t a fluff piece meant to advertise the one influencer’s brand?
Yeah I’ve been doing that forever….Working at my desk while walking, lifting weights etc. Or yoga in the evening before bed. It’s not a new concept, not groundbreaking. 🙄🙄
I work 30h a week and go to law school so o don’t have time to go gym or anything. Just fitting in and exercise where I can
No one invented walking on the treadmill and watching tv
This seems like a miscommunication. I’ve worked in marketing. This seems like this segment is a promotion for the creator’s exercise program cozysculpt, which is an addition to an exercise program she already created. If her team did arrange this segment to promote the cozysculpt, than it WAS inclusive of them that they included Hope in that feature. Megan said in the interview that she saw it on TikTok. She never claimed to invent it. She’s not stealing this concept because it’s not a trademarked or original concept. I don’t watch fitness TikTok’s so I’m not familiar with Hope’s content, but from what’s been shown in this video, Hope doesn’t appear to have her own individual cozycardio program for people to buy that she monetizes. It seems like videos are there, but freely available and not part of a business. She didn’t steal someone’s company or business plan if it’s not being monetized. Hope made videos and helped people have a healthier relationship with exercise. Good for her! If she planned on monetizing it, she had plenty of time and opportunity to do so. But she didn’t. It seems like problem is that the television show producers made it seem like hope was going to have an entire segment about her, and that was the miscommunication. But Hope was the person who popularized the trend and she was featured and briefly included. There’s blame here that feels misdirected.
"cozy cardio" aka at home workout
Exactly 😂
Megan Roup is already being sued by Tracy Anderson, must she have more.
Yeah, that situation is weird. The Today Show and the replacement lady are shaaaaady 👀
Im so over tiktokers thinking they have ownership of a trend that tbh is a fairly basic concept. Like she wants it to become a trend, but then once other people do it (and reference it as a TREND, not theirs), shes worried about her "brand." Does she really think no one had this idea before 2020? Late stage capitalism has gone to ya head guys lol
Are you kidding me? "Cozy cardio" has been around since the 90s, if not since the first TVs came around. It's super common in countries where exercise culture is a thing...
I have owned treadmill for forever. I have always walked in the morning in my pajamas……. Nothing special about it!! She is not certified Personal trainer. She did not come up with walking on On a treadmill in pajamas, And she should take it up with the news channel and not the girl who did the interview. I’m sure she had no idea they were interviewing her as well and she never said she started it first!. The problem I see here is self entitlement People today have any concept They think they invented, You think you have started it, but it was done way before you brought it to public knowledge .
Cozy cardio has existed before she coined the term, I'm sure
It did. Tumblr had that like 10 years ago and called it lazy cardio and cozy cardio.
As a personal trainer with over 300 videos on UA-cam I'm used to people taking some of my ideas and I'm flattered. Going on national television and taking credit for the idea is a whole other thing. She should give credit where credit is due.
There is no credit due though. Cozy cardio and lazy cardio have been a thing for like 10 years at this point. Tumblr did it first so there is really nothing she invented or even named...
@@Mimi-sg6fe I think it was the fact that they set her up on TV to make it look like she was going to be the star of it - whether she quote "invented it or not wasn't my point only....unless that's just what she's telling us- that she was gonna be featured way more and she wasn't... and she's upset in hindsight.
love that she trademarked it! more people need to move like that when they get viral. A super smart move from Hope, I wish her the best
I can't believe the Today show just railroaded that TikTok creator like that. Why couldn't they give her the appropriate credit and then bring on the professional trainer? It was completely unnecessary to discredit the original creator- even to fit their dubious agenda of molding the story to fit the audience they want. Or why not just do a completely different story then? Instead of jeopardizing the hard work that young woman put into building a community around her lifestyle trend. Making a living on social media relies on being relevant and innovative- and it's extremely competitive. That was so distasteful of them to treat her work that way
Can these Internet people stop trying to coin the word cozy? I've been saying it my entire life and people act as though they're supposed to get paid every time anyone else uses that word. It's ridiculous!
Lol, it seems like using the word "Cozy" or "Kozy" for your business is a curse. 😅
I don't have tik tok and I'm in my early 20's. I've always watched tv while walking in my walking pad bc my job has always been remote and I don't go out a lot after graduating college. She didnt invented a concept but more like the name, which I agree is wrong morally if someone else uses it. But if the other creator snug up and took the name and trademarked it, then that's just a moral thing, unfortunately no much of legal thing unless the original creator has had a connection to it through commerce (goods and services) and its solely known by that brand in the business world. Idk what this will be in a court setting in a TikTok setting. Or if she in fact trademarked the brand before this "big" creator came over then she has a right to sue.
People are probably running to trademark the name now
it would be one thing if this was actually something entirely original, but working out in an environment like that is something that i and probably many others have been doing for a very long time. all hope really did was come up with a catchy name for it. i think everyones being really overdramatic about this whole thing and theres really no reason for outrage.
There was an influencer who just had a baby and I remember following her “fitness journey” because I was postpartum too. She said she couldn’t get rid of her mom pouch. Then started documenting her mommy make-over recovery surgery. Out of nowhere she blew up. ERASED all her surgery videos and claimed it was from her workouts. She is now a fitness trainer and uses her before and afters as credit to just working out. I was so disappointed and still am how someone can lie and trick new moms that “they just have to work out” when she got surgery herself.
Gonna nit pick here, but slowly walking on a treadmill while drinking a cup of coffee is not cardio.
I love your videos 🖤 the beauty community is an absolute mess and I’m here for it 💅
.... So they think they're the first women to work out at home like this? 🤦🏻
Everyone in the comments…..are y’all slow or what? Missing the point? it doesn’t matter if your dead grandma did it when she was 10! The point is that she was the one who” kinda” made it popular on TikTok or Instagram or whatever and the other one hardly have any content of cozy work-out and it’s taking the credit on national tv plain and simple
Working out at home isn't a new concept nor revolutionary. Huge ego if she thinks she invented it just because she renamed it lmao 😂.
“Cozy cardio” is not original. Maybe the phrase is but not the idea. It isn’t revelatory to watch a show while on the treadmill.
Why didn’t they just credit her
This is what working out at home has always looked like for me 😂 how many people watch a show or listen to podcast while working out?
‘Cozy cardio’ has been around way longer than Hope created. 💀
Wao the way that program allowed a more famous celebrity trainer to take over this concept as her own is so low. Obviously this is not a new concept but that first girl popularized it and was on her way to great things
Absolutely SCUMMY trick to pull!
My local Planet Fitness has a wall of tvs in front of the ellipticals, stair machines, and treadmills...
i have done it for years but call it "lazy workout" for days when i need to workout but don't really feel like it. Then i put on some youtube, grab some snacks, and do strength exercises mainly but with lots of rests in between sets
My moms been walking on the treadmill while watching tv since the early 2000s, shes my cozy cardio founder
Damn!!! That’s shady! I wish the girl could have trademarked it or whatever it’s called!!!
She has had it trademarked for over a year
They did Hope wrong, Megan should have at least given Hope credit by mentioning her
People have been working out at home in their pjs forever. Neither of you are pioneers. I’m a fitness instructor for over 9 years and have owned a fitness studio for 4. Embarrassing on both their ends.
So we are not going to talk how she stole the original creator speach? About being already in pajama and having coffee?
Waittttttt I didn’t even notice! That’s bad 😭
I always told my friends do your exercise while you watch eastenders 😂 I figured everyone knew to do this trick at home and thats why machines have tv sections now😅😂
i think even hope knows she didn’t create the concept of cozy cardio, but she still should get her flowers for getting it more into the mainstream. that’s wild that she was invited to talk more on it and then her actual airtime was severely slashed…
My grandmother used to walk on the treadmill while watching her "TV SHOWS" when I was a child.
It's nice to get everything working out, but she didn't invent anything
That Cozy name huh…..
lol when I was growing up we had a bike and a Nordic track In Our living room. My mom wore a night gown…This is so not new at all. 😅
Back in the early 2000s when I was growing up, I was diagnosed with ADHD in like third grade. I would constantly be on a yoga ball in front of the television.
While I understand she made it popular and they screwed her over but a lot of us have been doing this for a long time
Yall no one invented this “cozy cardio” thing. People have been doing this FOREVER.
This is why so many don't watch the proper news channels
This type of exercise is not knew alot of women have been doing this for years
Being skinny is a literal super power lol.
I freaking love your videos !! I usually watch them as I clean my room and I love them 🎀 Always here for the drama :3
Branding is a big issue for anyone in a business - lest we forget the Cozy Company kerfuffle where Jacki Hill hijacked another creator's brand and concept.
Woah I’ve been doing cozy cardio for 20 years. She branded it so well. Brilliant
My great grandmother who passed away had done it…I don’t know what is new .
This cosy cardio on a treadmill just screams
Wall-e 😂
While I totally agree with the comments that she didn't come up with this idea, it's messed up what the news did to her.
This concept is not new.
The term 'cozy' is just cringe af now
Doing cardio from home isn’t a new thing 🫥
I‘m so tired of these people
I didn't realize there was a whole fitness community. 😂
You must not have social media then?
Meanwhile, Blogilates is doing her own business, both figuratively and *_literally_* 💀
In all seriousness, these toxic Fitness TikTokers in this video, that stole other people’s sh**, need to take a break from what their doing and try to find something else to do in their miserable lives 💀
the cutthroat world of marketing
I've literally done this for years. I think a lot of people have.
Yoooo, but Megan do said she knows about the cozy routine from her fyp or something. And she just joined the hype train. Those routine of hers is modified, like the postpartum. Yes she could at least credit Hope but doesnt all the certified trainers have the same routine? Doesnt yall have the same routine after all?
literally none of them invented that ....
Watching this video while walking on the treadmill lol
I’ve been doing this sh!t for years and didn’t need a bougee name to make it legit. People reinventing the wheel needs all the praise for something not original.
Been doing this for years didn’t know there was a name for it 😂
I’ve been doing “cozy cardio” since before this “influencer” was born !!! I could’ve invented this a long time ago ??? 😂😂😂 The SHADE these people threw at the one who thinks she invented it. 😂😂😂
These Tik Tok influencers think they invented everything they “came up with” and Gen X and before have been doing this (and others) for DECADES ! Gyms have TV’s in their facilities specifically for that reason !!! People use their phones to listen to music and watch shows. To think this girl invented it is hilarious !!!!
I blame lookisms since Megan fits better with the sterotypical image they want for TV and it doesn't hurt she has a pretty home for filming. I blame this more on the Today Show than her.
As a lazy person, I've been doing 'cozy cardio' for years.. way before Covid hit 😂
If you didn’t struggle with doing yoga while also getting the right angle to look at your fav tv show or UA-camr on your phone..did you even do yoga? Cozy yoga 😂
I don’t understand, are people saying she invented (walking on a treadmill while watching TV) ?
So ridiculous that this girl sent a hate mob after Megan Roup lol the jealousy and entitlement saddens me
