First half marathon I ever ran, I timed it perfectly so that I crossed the finish line right as this song ended... as soon as 6:51 hit it was a dead sprint to the finish, best part of the freakin song!
I was not even 4 years old yet when LTE2 was released. My uncle is a prog rock fanatic. One of the earliest vivid memories of my life is sitting in his room listening to this track in particular, on repeat. It's just the first of a thousand times over the last 20 years that he introduced me to a song that resonated with him on a near spiritual level. At an early age he sparked a fire in my soul - his intense passion for this music passed along to me, allowing me to understand the true importance of music in this life. I'm grateful to have been raised on bands like Dream Theater, Yes, Opeth, Rush, Transatlantic, Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson, Pat Metheny etc... My uncle was recently diagnosed with a late stage, aggressive form of cancer and is fighting for his life. I'm so scared for him, and I hope he wins this battle, I cant afford to lose him right now or ever. I get tears in my eyes when I hear this song, and certain others, because they all make me feel the significance of what is important to me. If you've made it here, sit back, relax, and enjoy. You're listening to some of the most talented human beings to ever walk the Earth.
My uncle Joseph J. Lodico passed away this morning, June 21st, 2020; at the age of 50. His love and passion for music is eternal though, and "The Great Gig in the Sky" just received their greatest bass player.
some stations MIGHT .. WELL I DO !!! and why wusb.fm NY is the most dangerous station in the nation.. TUNE IN TO WAXX TRAXX TO THE MAXX .. ALT WED EVES AT 8 PM ...
LTE 1 and 2 were created at a special moment in time, the guys feel like they were in a good place and inspired. I think some songs on those two records are instrumental metal evergreens.
Thanks John, Jordan, Mike and Tony for this moment of pure pleasure, my soul was sleeping for too long and you just woke it up... Can't thank you enough.
i can feel how this music travel through my veins, and I mean eat, my body feels diferent when I listen to it. I think this is what armonic resonance means
This song is about John Petrucci suffering from bad migraines and taking the drug biaxin to help him, which they did, but he found out it made him hallucinate strongly, and this song is about him appreciating the bliss it gave him and how ironic it was of him taking this drug he was prescribed, hence the title, Biaxident. (by accident) Source: John petrucci himself
Honestly, the keyboard's riffs in the ending of the song must be inspired from Michael Jackson's song "Thriller", where you hear the exact keyboard riff during the narration part of the song. Good stuff
I work at 4am and have a 30 minute drive to work. Was enjoying this song so much that the police decided to pull me over and violate me with a financial penalty. Oh well Still worth it
A lot of parts of the song are in 7/8 and 5/8 and I didn't even notice 'til I started learning it on bass. They throw bars of odd time signature wherever they want and you don't notice because the music just... flows...
It's hard to imagine that this song and others were a product of a week or two of sessions. To execute and co-ordinate such masterpieces with aplomb and in such a short time shows their caliber really. Having said that, I'd wish Portnoy continued with LTE. There still exists the demand for beauties like these! :)
that's the beauty of prog and fusion; so many aspects that your brain takes a LONG time to remember all the parts and so many instruments that shine altogether
Sorry, but Boujane is kind of right. Don't get me wrong, I like Metallica a lot! But it will never ever get me the goosebumps LTE gets me whenever I'm listening to these songs. It's completely beyond Metallica. Technically speaking, in terms of musical enrichment... its far beyond...
A great, inspirational and so very original as it always is by Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment.. thx for puttin this up, nothing beats DT and LTE!
wow i love the piano on this! me and a friend and his two friends are gonna try and play this song for an event a year from now. im learning the piano by ear and its amazing! thank you jesus that i have the ability to play by ear. what a blessing. if anyone has any questions about how to play it, just send me a message. ;)
when lte came around they were like nothing we had ever seen. no vocals. just 4 virtuosos going as badass as they possibly could. reunion tour was also fantastic
Now I figured out what liquid tension means after listening to this song.. now it's all over my pants.. ugh.. if there was some kind of warning so I could have prepared myself..
well dont know if youll ever see this or not but the piano changes scales at the start alot but the chords that i learned by ear were Cmaj, Gmin, Cmaj, AbMaj, EbMaj,F#Maj, C#maj and i forget the last one but youll be able to find it by ear no problem and if this doesnt match the song try ttransposing up or down depending hope this helps
I can say whatever I want. Seriously, no joke I can. Try to have an original thought sometime, it's great. After countless instances where Lars and Co. have either cried about not getting 100% profit or written a song about greed while living in their mansions with elevators to take them from one floor to another - it's hard to take them seriously anymore. Their music is the absolute clone of their previous album. The last time they made something profound was the Master of Puppets album.
I remember hearing somewhere that they made most of their music with little or no rehearsal, that they just made up most of it as they went along. I guess that could explain why it's such a mixture.
Biaxident- when you say it, it's "By accident"
BUT
When you read it, it looks like a toothpaste your dentist would prescribe
I'm a dentist and I'd prescribe this.
Tantissimo
lol.. well now that you mention it…
And on the 8th day, the Lord gave his hands to Jordan Rudess
The devil must have given his hands to John Petrucci
Hahaha
Too bad he took his hair off.
First half marathon I ever ran, I timed it perfectly so that I crossed the finish line right as this song ended... as soon as 6:51 hit it was a dead sprint to the finish, best part of the freakin song!
Try not to lie challenge, imposible edition:
My 6 month old son loves listening to this... I think.
Your son is 6 years old now! Wow

Such a beautiful comment. Your uncle is surely watching from above with a huge smile.
Radios need to play this type of music, LTE has perfectly placed parts In every song
Been listening to a lot of Shadow Gallery lately
some stations MIGHT .. WELL I DO !!! and why wusb.fm NY is the most dangerous station in the nation.. TUNE IN TO WAXX TRAXX TO THE MAXX .. ALT WED EVES AT 8 PM ...

The guitar riff makes me think of a ship sailing the seas. No idea why.
I'm not the only onee!!! *-*
Oh, you're right. I think of Angra (Matos era)
On a bow of a large 1500's style wooden one? :)
Exactly the same. Listening to this while playing Sea of Thieves! :D
Let me guess, 2:03 maybe?
That solo section at about 3:38 is some of the tastiest stuff Ive ever heard.
+Andrew Phillips hell yeah, just plz tell me what kind of music is that? is it rock? or what??
+Andrew Phillips Part is classy, tasty, and seductive at the same time.
Fezfouza Alili Sounds like jazz with a bluesy vibe to it.
Andrew Phillips you can definitely tell it's John pettruci. It's nice
Well, you know what they say, Petrucci plays a million notes per second and has no feel, and Rudess does nothing but show off.
Probably the best piano guitar duet since an endless sporadic
It sucks before 0:01
+Öykü Özer Everything after 7:41 goes downhill pretty quickly as well. The rest is golden, however.
WOW!!! Simply WOW! damn that piano entrance, damn that guitaaaaaaaaaaare and daaaaaaaaaaaaamn that SONG is just WOW!!!!
Thanks John, Jordan, Mike and Tony for this moment of pure pleasure, my soul was sleeping for too long and you just woke it up... Can't thank you enough.
i can feel how this music travel through my veins, and I mean eat, my body feels diferent when I listen to it.
I think this is what armonic resonance means
i STILL get goosebumps at several points in this song
5:26. Those two bites into the melody are killer
Music at its highest level. Such an amazing masterpiece.
One of my favourite bands, with a stunning song there!
me too
I just stumbled on this song by accident.
you mean biaxident ;)
how I stumbled on the album around 9 years ago and still enjoy
me too by a little thing called spotify
Whenever I listen to this, i am SPEECHLESS. ive easily listened to it over 200 times, but never gets old
This song is about John Petrucci suffering from bad migraines and taking the drug biaxin to help him, which they did, but he found out it made him hallucinate strongly, and this song is about him appreciating the bliss it gave him and how ironic it was of him taking this drug he was prescribed, hence the title, Biaxident. I just went through such nostalgia that it is incomprehensible how much I cried and full of energy I felt, for a second I was a child again
this song made me happy a long time ago.. still does
Honestly, the keyboard's riffs in the ending of the song must be inspired from Michael Jackson's song "Thriller", where you hear the exact keyboard riff during the narration part of the song. Good stuff
I love the guitar at 2:04 it's jist perfect
Alexander López If ELP had an actual guitar player in the band, this would have been it. The way those chords sit behind the lead...magic!
one of my favorite songs
Mine too. Heard it 13 years ago. After the 20 second piano intro, it became and has stayed my favorite song.
This song is so deliriously happy I feel, listening to it, that droplets of pure uncut joy will start coalescing on my skin.
I love jordan rudess!!! He is a beast!!! SH*T
So fucking beautiful. Each time I listen to this awesome musical piece, I feel happy and persevering in what I begin/undertake. Thanks to LTE!
2nd most epic ending I've ever heard in a song (#1 is hells kitchen)
I work at 4am and have a 30 minute drive to work.
Was enjoying this song so much that the police decided to pull me over and violate me with a financial penalty.
Oh well
Still worth it

This song gives me chills every time I hear it! It's so beautiful and wonderful!
yeah! i had chills on my back while playing this song
Simply amazing! the piano really spices it up. Real melodic, and yet metal
I've been so unmotivated this morning, but now, while listening to this...Everything's possible!!
The guitar in the beginning after the full band comes in sounds so meek and beautiful.
"About to Crash" sounds really similar to this, especially the intro ... lol
This song is simply unparalleled.
It's hard to imagine that this song and others were a product of a week or two of sessions. To execute and co-ordinate such masterpieces with aplomb and in such a short time shows their caliber really. Having said that, I'd wish Portnoy continued with LTE. that's the beauty of prog and fusion; so many aspects that your brain takes a LONG time to remember all the parts and so many instruments that shine altogether
This definitely takes me back.
every song they make just feels like an adventure
absolutely love it! especially the guitar melody at 2:04
To my ears, there is NOTHING 'by accident' about this track ..
they replaced Myung and fired Labrie
pretty much
ooh!...this is goooood!
Never heard LTE before but will certainly want more now!!
Não tem como não gostar.... essa eh uma das melhores musicas de todo o MUNDO.... o instrumental dela é perfeito.
Sim, este é o auge do magnífico.
The beginning sounds reminiscent of the ffVII main theme! :)
One winged angel is different from this >.
Yash Chauhan He wasn't talking about one winged angel actually.
Choukrouut Velu Oh, I see. It's the only one I'm familiar with though because I learnt how to play it :P
It sounds like the song 'About to Crash''
A great, inspirational and so very original as it always is by Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment.. thx for puttin this up, nothing beats DT and LTE!
i dont know how i stumbled across this, but i like it. i wanna hear more.
This is very beautiful!
absolutely a beautiful song!
I like the part:5:26
the guitar sounds nice in that part!
The last 50 seconds of this song are absolutely amazing!
I mean its all awesome, but that part i enjoyed listening to most.
absolutamente maravillosa
wow i love the piano on this! me and a friend and his two friends are gonna try and play this song for an event a year from now. im learning the piano by ear and its amazing! thank you jesus that i have the ability to play by ear. what a blessing. if anyone has any questions about how to play it, just send me a message. ;)
very adventurous tune, but still emotional at the same time :)
beautiful harmonies, the fist section kind of reminds me a bit of SIMs 1 "buying theme" I think
LaBrie or not, Myung or Levin, Portnoy or Mangini, DT and LTE are by far the few bands i've really gotten into... Long live DT and their fans!
5:25, the masterpiece!
It's safe to assume they were fans of Final Fantasy 7. This sounds like the greatest cover ever of the Aeris theme.
This is an amazing song!
my favorite song from liquid tension experiement.
I never get tired of this song ^^,
when lte came around they were like nothing we had ever seen. no vocals. just 4 virtuosos going as badass as they possibly could. reunion tour was also fantastic
LOL. Respect for that double bassdrum XD. Those where some serious punches in the face. Damn.
Now I figured out what liquid tension means after listening to this song.. now it's all over my pants.. ugh.. if there was some kind of warning so I could have prepared myself..
hahahahaha
that outro is so fucking TASTY
well dont know if youll ever see this or not but the piano changes scales at the start alot
but the chords that i learned by ear were Cmaj,
Gmin, Cmaj, AbMaj, EbMaj,F#Maj, C#maj and i forget the last one but youll be able to find it by ear no problem and if this doesnt match the song try ttransposing up or down depending
hope this helps
the first 2 minutes is so much similar to steven wilson's music anyone else agrees?
This was on the second album, second track - so why is the first album cover posted up here? Brilliant track - one of my LTE favs.
song reminds me of FF7 aeris theme
I can say whatever I want.
Seriously, no joke I can. Try to have an original thought sometime, it's great.

YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MY WHOLE LIFE!
Guy With Knife have you been listening to LTE since?
@@gyulaigyula5254 Who doesn't listen to LTE every year?
That guitar is so much FUN to play.
same i say, this is one of those songs that makes you imagine states of mood, or places
There's a lot more, every song by these guys is awesome.
This was Beautiful for my Children. Now they have their own. If we keep it this way.
5:25 that's so beautiful
I can't believe I don't get those goosebumps when listening to this music anymore. Why, God? :(
nearly 8 minutes of shivering :/ love it ...
that opening piano piece might just be rudess's best
The whole song is beautiful. Listen to the scales in the guitar solo, my god.
BEAUTIFUL...
beautiful *-* :D
I remember hearing somewhere that they made most of their music with little or no rehearsal, that they just made up most of it as they went along. I guess that could explain why it's such a mixture.
drums between 4:50 - 4:58 absolutely PERFECT job from Portnoy
Doesn't get any better than this. Period. End of sentence.
i like the part in the song where they play their instruments pretty well
@6:48
but seriously this to the end is the greatest part of any song ever
sound like Aerith's Theme
I thought so too when i first heard it, i was like "where the heck have i heard this before?"
Biaxident is a form of medicine that the guitarist from the band (John Petrucci) used for his headaches, which is what annulable above said.
At first, only Portnoy and Petrucci belonged to Dream Theater but after Kevin Moore quitted Jordan Ruddes joined Dream Theater.
Mi pieza predilecta de Liquid Tension Experiment. Love you Portnoy :D
East LA Cx
strum strum twang twang strum twang tinkle tinkle twang
So happy everyone is still hearing!
This song is the only reason why I like Liquid Tension Experiment XD
If this song was made "By Accident", then let me speak for everyone when this song is the greatest accident ever.
