For years now I have been noticing a trend in these types of parties that I see online and in person when I go to the events. No one dances, all they do is jump up and down and stare at the DJ the whole night. Now I find myself doing this as well because of their talents. But at some point when do you start dancing. Has anyone here noticed that or is it just me? I go for the people, the lights, the music, and of course the DJ, but my ultimate goal is to Dancy My Ass Off. DJs feed off people's energy and when a Dj sees the crowd dancing that means that he is doing his work. At least that's how it used to be back in my day. I am not that old, but I am old enough to remember that DJs were there to do their job and that was to make people dance. Lately going to these events there is very little dancing. It look's like the DJ is dancing more than the crowd, its supposed to be the other way around. I mind my own because I will dance but sometimes when the whole crowd is in dancing mode, I feed off that. At least I do, BTW nice set.
Same to going to dance... But, I gave up going because they are all so over crowded. These events have become "shows" like concerts. They all have super bright light shows around the stage that are made to mesmerize you... And they work. It's why no one dances. Let's face, it's impossible to dance in a crowd like that... So the producers make sure that you don't.
I agree, as in when there is a DJ which I like in my City, I go and Dance after, I don t care what others are doing, but there are set of people who really enjoy themselves they dont care about taking pictures and making video they go their to dance, and dance is what they do, just like I do and we all dance together, it is scene to see, and people watch and start dancing gets contagious :)
