I have a 2019 GLI 35th DSG and really like the car it has a good balance of power and handling and is a joy to drive constantly putting a big grin on my face .
Great review....feel you did an exemplary job in illustrating the various models...their features and/or offerings and most important....price point. I'm on the East Coast U.S. and purchased my '22 GLI in May and absolutely love the car. True German performance at a price that won't leave you bleeding....love, love, love : )
My wife just got the Base model this Sunday 7/10/2022, But to be honest, I Love it... Very comfortable drive and it respond better then it Looks. I absolutely Love it.
The GLI you can use regular fuel yes, but the owners manual recommends premium, mainly for the full power but it does get better mpg on it as well. It is nice tho to have a peace of mind you can use regular
I have a 2021 Jetta SEL-P and its a great car....seems a lot larger than it is and it's good on gas....2 complaints the porous sunscreen is annoying and you can still feel the sun when closed....had to throw a tint on the sunroof and I wish there was an "auto hold"....all those blank spaces near the shifter they have room for it.
I love my SEL.. I know my car holds on a hill. You can flip the parking brake and it will hold and automatically release when you hit the gas at a stop light. But not the same thing, is it? Oh well.
Considering you get leather heated/ventilated seats, adaptive suspension and all the upgrades for the one price, it’s a really good deal. Amazing fun daily driver.

Jetta 1.5T Comfortline is a great buy as a compact family sedan. The problem with Jetta GLI is not only Civic Si, its the awesome new Elantra N that is a true sports compact killer.
A 10 year, 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty would be very attractive to potential Volkswagen buyers, given VWs checkered durability history 😀. That trunk lid slam sounded horrendous 😳
LoL. I totally agree. That trunk thunk is more like a Japanese Econo box than a German engineered vehicle. The sheet metal seems to get thinner and more tin can like. VW of late hasn't been up to the older generation standards.
